In the beginning all was well. After about 2 years the self closing mechanisms in the door hinges started to fail in the apartment. By now those in the bathroom also failed. The cabinets in the other rooms used a different hinge and they are fine. I went to Jim's Cabinet shop and asked to see Jim. When the receptionist refused to let me talk to Jim. She took a form out of her desk telling me to go buy replacement hinges. If one or two hinges had failed it would be one thing but 34 have failed. Since they all have failed I think this was a latent defect and Jim should at least participate in the repair.
Description of Work: provided cabinets for kitchen, living room, dining room, bath room, and all cabinets for an apartment.

I told it all in the services provided.....
Description of Work: In fall of 2009 we decided to remodel/renovate a kitchen at our summer home. We wanted to use the local services and not have people come from the greater distances of a larger city. We went to the cabinet maker in town and sat town several times with ideas and then drawings. WE made it clear from the beginning that I wanted the cabinets to the ceiling as I hate cabinets with shelves that only collect dust. He had beautiful drawings and ideas with a very hefty price. WE agreed to the price as I did have lots of cabinets with high end features. The cabinet man had to work with the general contractor and on more than one occasion the cabinet maker kept the project from progressing in a timely manner. When it came time for the cabinets to be up and "reach" the ceiling they did not meet as the ceiling curved a bit. It did work out due to the beautiful work of Joel and Rodney that spent many hours adjusting and getting it right. It does look fabulous. It did cost me extra. Now it was time to install the granite. I had it picked from the company that the cabinet maker used; then the cabinet maker changed his mind and I had to use another company. That was a poor choice. The natural freckles in the material are very obvious; the installers brought a piece of the granite with unfinished edges; they also forgot a major piece of granite! I had to wait another week for it to come. My kitchen project was finished the end of May, 2010. It is beautiful to see and a wonderful kitchen to use for 1 person to 10. All through this process there was always an excuse of why they were not at my house as they were so busy with so many clients. I never felt special and certainly was not cheap on my side. I think the kicker is this that recently i need a call back as for some reason the slide out cutting boards are stuck, and i do mean stuck. I have called and NOW they are so busy they do not know when they can come out to see the problem. Apparently, It seems that the year warranty must be expired and i do not know how to resolve this problem. I happen to have these same cabinets in my full time home with slide out cutting boards for over 7 years and have not had one problem. I have had to call the company in the city for another problem and they still service my 7 year old kitchen graciously and without excuses. AS i have stated the kitchen is beautiful and all we desired. WE thank all the men that labored on behalf of our project. We are contemplating a bedroom/bathroom addition but will NOT use this cabinet builder because he apparently does not have time for us.
