The Upholstery Shop

After 12 years, the seat cushions of my family room couch and loveseat had become very squished and looked terrible. The upholstery shop made me new foam inserts and did a fantastic job. These pieces look so much better now - must less expensive to fix the seat cushions vs. replacing the furniture.

Magnificently. Upholstery shop gave me a price over the phone, I brought in the overlarge cushions, badly out of shape, and with velcro tabs for securing to wrought iron bergere chair & ottoman. All were covered first in batting, returned to original shape, and recovered (with self-piping). Everything turned out far better than I thought. They're better than perfect, and I wish I'd learned about them sooner.

Excellent in all respects. They have a great selection of fabrics to choose from. We are already planning to use them again.

After trying unsuccessfully to cover the very worn leather on my prized Stokke Gravity chair I've had since 1990 I entrusted it to Eddie to recover with Naugahyde. I took the arms out first to see how well it would turn out and happy with the results took the rest of the chair out to his shop in Herndon. The work was done in a timely fashion and Eddie was easy to communicate with via email. I'm very pleased with the results, especially since the chair is no longer available in the form I have.

They did an excellent job... they took an old ugly sofa and modernized it.. the workmanship is impressive... they know what there craft.. I supplied the fabric.

We had 3 chairs done at a time. The first 3 took 2 weeks, the 2nd 3 may have taken a week longer or so. The chairs came out beautifully...

I have received the settee and it looks beautiful. The side chair is still being worked on. The settee looks beautiful. The price was better than other quotes I received, and the work was completed much faster than I anticipated. I am so pleased that I am going to have two other club chairs reupholstered.

They did a beautiful job, absolutely stunning. The chair has sentimental value to my husband, otherwise, I would have given it the heave-ho, so glad we didn't get rid of it. We met with Jeffery Colon in his shop in Herndon in December, 2015. He was very accommodating and helpful. After understanding our needs based on the photos we had brought of our couches, he generated an estimate of the cost of the job. The price was acceptable, although more than we had envisioned. However, we decided to go with The Upholstery Shop while there in the shop. Jeffery was helpful in showing us all the possible fabrics we might consider. He then gave us 7 books of swatches to take home to consider. Two days later we had selected a fabric to our liking and informed Jeffery. Because we would be out of town in January, we requested that the work take place then. There was some confusion about pickup of the couches (3 weeks after we placed the order) by Eddie. Nonetheless we arranged for someone to meed Eddie at our home for pickup while we were away. In mid January Jeffery notified us that the job was complete and requested when it might be delivered. Again, because we were away, we had to arrange for someone to receive them. Upon our return, we were very pleased to find that The Upholstery Shop had done a great job. We have no complaints and are pleased with our new couches and ottoman. I would recommend them for any reupholstery job without hesitation.

Great! Almost 8 months later and the seat cushions are holding up well. I highly recommend Mr. Eddie Colon. I found him using Angie's List. Another great referral. The only issue I have is with the 5% off for all Angie's List members. I never received it. In fact, I sent a followup e-mail to him dated October 13, 2015 and never heard back from Mr. Colon. :( The work he did was so wonderful I would use his services again.

My husband & I had priced new furniture & found everything too large for our area & too expensive. Since we had purchased very good quality sofa & 2 chairs decades ago, we decided to have them reupholstered instead. We had gone to another upholstery shop first; we spent hours there plowing thru books but could not find the fabrics we wanted & got no assistance or suggested alternatives. We contacted Eddie & Jeff Colon at the Upholstery shop & they were absolutely wonderful in their efforts to accommodate us. They both immediately "got" the look we were trying to achieve. While Eddie determinedly searched their massive inventory for the fabrics we had in mind (we did not know who the manufacturers were), Jeff pulled great alternatives we could have used if our first choices could not be found. They suggested ways to "modernize" the pieces we had--no skirts & reconstruct the arms on the sofa & make different accessory pillows. Eddie found the fabrics we had fallen in love with & both brothers were very flexible in working with us on scheduling because we wanted to coordinate having the 3 pieces out of the house when we got new carpeting installed. Things were up in the air for a while & Eddie & Jeff just "went with the flow." The pick-up/delivery crew came when Eddie scheduled them & they were friendly & careful in handling things. The results were better than we expected. The new arms for the sofa, the suggestion to go "skirtless," the fabrics, the workmanship, all transformed our furniture so that no one would ever know how old it is! This is a professional, accommodating business that has a fantastic selection of fabrics & takes good care of their customers. I highly recommend The Upholstery Shop & I plan to use them to reupholster the furniture in our family room as soon as I can.

The shop is located in downtown Herndon and is a little hard to find, but once you get there, WOW!. I was blown away with all the fabric they have ready and seems like you can order just about anything you could possible want. I came with my own fabric, but now that I know they are full service, I will go there first! I did the delivery and pick up on my own, but they do offer that service at a reasonable cost. Eddie was not the cheapest I came across, but certainly the most reliable.

Service was excellent from start to finish. While trying to decide on fabric, I went to the store two different times, spending an hour there each time, and he was very patient with me. He dug out books of fabric options, and let me take several home to see it with other décor. The finished chair is beautiful!

The chairs were picked up at my home which was helpful. In addition to reupholstery, Eddie arranged for some refinishing to be done on the chairs while they were in his shop which made it easy for me. Chairs came back looking brand new. Workmanship was superb and I thought the price was fair given that this is all hand work. Eddie did exactly as I asked and it was a pleasure working with him. It is nice to know there are such craftsman still around and I know where my upholstery business will go in the future.

I sent Eddie pictures of the chairs and asked if they could remove the wings. He quoted me a price and gave me a 5% discount for being a Angie's List member. This was back in April. Because of a move I tried to co-ordinate delivery of the finished chairs. The only problem arose with not being able to get the first fabric I picked. It was no longer available. The 2nd fabric was a lighter color than I wanted. When I found the color and called Eddie he tried to obtain the fabric for me and called the manufacturer. That's when he was told that it was a fabric color made exclusively for a fabric store. I was able to purchase the yardage that was suggested by Eddie and they picked up both the fabric and the chairs on the 25th of July. They called and said they were done and ready for delivery on the 8th of August. Since I was not available they were delivered on the 15th and are beautiful. The stripes matched on the seats and back to a tee. The cushions are a little softer than I would like but that is my fault for not asking for a firmer cushion. I was annoyed that the first fabric was not available but after seeing how great they look I'm glad it wasn't. My son was so impressed with the quality of workmanship that he intends to contact Eddie for an estimate on re-doing a recliner. The delivery men were great, the same ones picked up the chairs that delivered them and even asked did I have the sides removed. It was a great shop to deal with and I will certainly use them again.

Eddie was helpful from the beginning in helping us determined if we wanted to reupholster or just have a custom slipcover made. He was in constant contact via email and always answered all of our questions. The entire job was completed in less than two weeks, and we have been pleased with the quality of the work.

I looked around and found these guys on the internet. I didn't have any information on them from other people so I took a chance. They did a great job listening to what I wanted - a very hard cushion - and made sure to point out that what I was asking for was outside the norm and would likely be uncomfortable. They were right of course but I got exactly what I asked for. It's months later and the cushions are still like sitting on a wooden plank but they are getting better. In the end I am very happy with them. They only took 2 days to get it done and while they weren't the cheapest option I feel they were likely the best. In fact, I've just purchased a new sofa and loveseat and I'm having the cushions upgraded in and am using them again.

I selected from in stock fabric form a rather large selection. Owner was helpful is comparing fabrics and provided large swatches to take home to make a final decision. Once I amde my selection, the pieces were complete quickly. I like the way they turned out.

It was fine. They did a good job. It took a little longer than I thought it would, but it turned out good. It was a reasonable price.
