I called four companies for an estimate on a roof replacement. St. Joseph's was among the best price. And, they did the estimate while I was not home - no need to send a sales person. I liked that. They had done work in the neighborhood and all my neighbors had only good things to say about them. We called and asked for a visit to see samples. The person who came was very knowledgeable, helpful, and left a large sample with us while we thought about it. A week later I sent an e-mail to say we were ready. They sent me a link to a contract which I signed on-line. The contract said the payment was due when the work was done. I really liked that. Others required up front cash. We agreed on a date. They called a few days in advance to make sure the day they were coming was still okay with us. They delivered the materials a day in advance. I did not like the fact that the delivery company asked me to sign a waiver before backing their heavy into my driveway but I didn't have a choice. The next day they arrived, installed the new roof and cleaned the yard. They even used a metal detector to ensure no loose nails were hidden in the grass. They finished around 4:00PM - amazingly fast. A few days later they called to ask if it all went well and if it did, please send a check as payment. I did. We're happy.

Just recently during Hurricane Sandy our 12 year old roof unfortunately succumbed to 2 water leaks - over our Master Bathroom and over Solarium/Kitchen. We contacted St. Joseph's since we used them for some minor roof repair work 8 months before. They came out to our house and provided a full and free estimate. We checked with a few other roofing companies to get a second opinion and to ensure we were getting the best value for the repair work. In the end we decide to go with St. Joseph's since they were easy to deal with in setting up estimate appointment, came out on time and on the day they said they would, were efficient/thorough in assessing the damage, provided a fair price quote and their estimate description was most comprehensive and their proposal review/signing process was simple and straight forward. We set a date to do the repair work with a few weeks of receiving the estimate, they came out to do the work as promised, performed the work without any issue and completed the work on time (within the 1 day stated) and cleaned up properly after themselves. We would highly recommend St. Joseph's to others (we have already done so with two other homeowners who have now replaced their entire roof and done some roof pair work with St. Josephs). Thank you to Ann and Mark at the office and to Dave who did the repair work! It has been over month and so far so good.. no more roof leaks!! The following work was performed properly to our satisfaction: - Repair roof over sun room: screw down vent, re attach and caulk. - Repair area over bump out on back of main house near gutter line. - Replace 4 pipe collars. - Re shingle around 1 furnace stack and 1 box vent and 1 attic fan. - Re-seal gutter corner with new gutter sealant. - Paint vent pipes black. - Bend back piece of skylight flashing. - Take before and after pictures for each item fixed.

We had moisture leaking through our ceiling into one of the upstairs bedrooms. St. Joseph's roofing responded quickly to our initial contact. Their sales person came out and estimated the cost of the project. I showed the sales rep a portion of our porch where we had some water and bug damage.. Once the shingles arrived, the roof was replaced in one day and the owner of the company came out on the day of work to ensure the crew had done the job as we expected and to be sure that no debris was left around our yard. A different contractor was sent out to fix the porch, he thought the porch job might be bigger than expected and called in for a second opinion. We discussed the different options with the owner of St Joseph's Roofing, and realized that we could solve the problem with a much less expensive solution than the second opinion had suggested. In the end I was happy to know that the contractor was humble enough to seek a second opinion and that the option was openly discussed with the owner who helped us make our decision about how to proceed. The contractor completed the job in a day and a half and even fixed another small area of rotted wood on our porch without charging us extra. We have a new roof and a repaired porch and are very happy with the work.

They did an exceptional job. I was absolutely satisifed with the job and I would highly, highly recommend them for anyone that is looking for roofing repair. They were so professional and thorough. I couldn't find any of the debris after their clean up. The gentleman only said they would be here for 2 hours. They finished the job in that time span.

I had an appointment scheduled at 9:00 am to receive an estimate for a full shake roof replacement. I received a call from Chris, we spoke and he indicated he needed an 1 1/2 to 2 hours of my time in person (really...?). I told him I had another appointment that I had to leave for by 9:45. He indicated that it wasn't worth his time to come by and that I should reschedule. I told him he was welcome to look at the roof, etc. and we could discuss options over the phone once he has an idea of the magnitude of the job. He declined, so I declined. No one ever indicated that you needed 2 hours of my time to discuss a roof. I know the spec's that I need and the options I want. Every other estimator (4 top rated ones) has been able to provide an estimate without me spending 1.5+ hours discussing it in person...phone calls seem to work pretty well.... Unfortunately, I think this is their loss...estimates for this job are $40,000+ and I need some race boards replaced or wrapped, etc. Take care. Peter Kendrick

See above. I personally went on the roof when the areas were opened for repair and reviewed the actual damage and poor flange sealing. I again inspected the finished job and personally assessed the work as excellent. No loose nails or screws were left behind on the roof nor on the ground. Excellent attention to detail.

See above. Excellent work and clean up afterwards. Price was fair and I would highly recommend St. Joseph's to anyone who needs any type of roofing repair.

Two real estate agents recommended St. Joe's, so we took the plunge despite their comparatively high bid. Prior to signing the contract, we were told the work would be complete in 3-4 weeks, which was perfect to beat our move into the home and and given the upcoming winter. However, the moment the contract was signed the date was shifted to 8-10 weeks out which disrupted our move schedule and placed the renovations directly in the path of winter. The siding job was subcontracted out to two different companies and St. Joe's had forgotten to cancel one of the crews. The fired crew leader was p*****, banged on our door, peeled out in our driveway, and left tons of gear in our backyard requiring the owner of St. Joe's to escort him out. The crew that did end up doing the work rather well, worked a side deal with me for $700 as they said our bid was missing some key elements and if I went back through St. Joe's it'd cost double. I have no idea if I was scammed, but it was a sketchy situation. Further, with an approaching snowstorm the crew did not cover open areas or exposed electrical fixtures - which were wet and/or covered in icicles for several days. The roofing job was supposed to take a day and a half, but the crew knocked it out in one day. Once complete, the roof had a warped appearance which St. Joe's attributed to the underlying joists. Further the replacement plywood was double in cost to an estimate provided more than halfway into the job. Once complete, the roof had a leak that required two visits from their repair guy. Each visit was scheduled 1-2 weeks out, which was not reassuring. Also, it was three visits if you count the one he missed. Lastly, the owner would not provide status updates or explanations to my wife during the various jobs. He would only speak with me, as the man of the house. Not sure what that's about, but we found it offputting and it was inconvenient as my wife generally manages the home improvement projects while I'm at work.

Emailed several companies for quotes through Angieslist website. Did not hear from this company for over a week. When they did call, they said it would be two weeks before they could come out to inspect/quote. I was not happy with the wait, so they immediately scheduled me for the following week. However, on the scheduled day, they called to say they would not be able to come until the following week. We hadn't yet made a decision about who we were going to use, so agreed to the revised date. When the guy came to quote, he did not get up on our roof like other companies had. He spoke to my husband and said he "could tell" that the roof needed to be replaced due to its age. (We have only lived in the house for a year and had no idea if the original roof (1989) had ever been replaced.) He said he was familiar with the size of our roof because they had done so many other townhomes like ours. He gave my husband a "ballpark" price that was more than double the prices we received from another vendor, although he did say that it was not a final quote and we would need to wait to receive the written quote. It has been a week today since the estimator was here and we have not yet received a written quote. In the mean time, we selected another company and the work was completed within 2 days of signing the contract.

I placed a inquiry with them and they contacted me the next day to set up a time to do the estimate. They were very courteous and professional in letting us know when they would be out by contacting us earlier in the day to confirm things. They came out and provided a estimate on all the work. Mark was available afterwards to answer questions and even went out of his way to work with my insurance company over a issue with one of the windows. Mark ended up being correct in his assessment and the insurance adjusted their quote based on his findings. They were always in touch letting us know who was coming out and when. I have to say this has been a great company to work with. Mark and the people at St. Joseph's were always in touch and helpful. The installs have gone off great and the work looks great. I would happily use them again in the future.

Mark McShurley provided a quote. He was very professional. He went through different options and provided a comprehensive quote that listed the options discussed. Their prices were higher than others, but I did appreciate their professionalism. Mark also described how they would protect the house and landscape during the work and that they used magnets to remove all nails and other metal debris.

A relative of mine was admitted to the hospital and it was my desire that the roofing materials on her home be removed and replaced while she was in the hospital. After conducting research on several companies, St. joseph's Roofing was selected. Although St. Joseph's recognized the time constraints, they accepted the challenge. The work was timely, workmanship professional, the crew was dedicated to the task at hand , responded positively when questions arose and complied with the provisions of the contract. St. Joseph's Roofing exhibited the qualities of a contractor dedicated to meeting the needs of the customer. I would recommend St. Joseph's Roofing to my friend's and neighbor's.

They were very professional, thorough. They provided good communication with me. Their work was done very efficiently.

Went well. We received a call from the company advising us when the roofing materials would be delivered. When all was said and done, the materials were delivered and the job was completed on the same day. I liked the employees who completed the job. They were courteous, and seemed thorough. I liked that they used their cameras to show me specific areas to address on the roof. I liked that they were thorough in clean up. We had a question after the job was completed regarding an attic fan - they were prompt to come back and check and answer the question that we had. I would use them again.

St Josephs was very prompt to return my calls and make an appointment to assess the repairs to my roof. Their estimator arrived on time and was very upfront about what was recommended to be done and what work was just nice to do, but not necessary. I received a quote via email just as promised. They are not the lowest price but not the highest either. I've dealt with a fair amount of construction contractors both in my career and for personal business. Considering all the contractors I've worked with, Mark was a pleasure to deal with as he is very professional, honest, and straight forward. He came across as being genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction. There was an issue with keeping the date promised for performing repairs due to availability of the scheduled crew. The attitude of their scheduler, leaves something to be desired, however speaking with Mark more than made up for this and he made arrangements to get another crew and keep to the date promised. His crew arrived on time, was friendly, and very conscientious. I watched them work and it was obvious that they were concerned about doing quality work and making sure my roof did not leak. Replacing the plumbing vent boot was not originally in the scope of work but they noted that it was not in good condition and should be replaced as a precaution. Since they were on the roof already I was okay with them doing this extra work and called Mark to ask how much additional cost it would be. He replied that it was no extra charge. His crew cleaned up everything as promised. Overall this was a small job but Mark and his crew didn't push this aside and treat me like a second class citizen for larger work. Mark also followed up with a call afterwards to see if I was satisfied. Other contractors can learn a few lessons on customer service from him. I plan on replacing the entire roof in the spring and will certainly be calling Mark to have his crew come back out.

After originally posting about how this company never showed for their appointment, one of the owners/managers called to apologize. He offered to send someone out to look at the areas of concern. He sent a very knowledgeable person out who explained what the issues were and he went about caulking and fixing the issues. In the end, the owner sent his person back to do some additional work- add a membrane and more caulk- and did this all for free. Mistakes happen to everyone; this company didn't have to do what they did but I'm happy they went above and beyond as that's what I hoped for when signing up for Angie's List. I would definitely use them again.

We called three contractors to obtain estimates. The promptness and personal attention provided by Dave of St. Joseph's far surpassed that of the other two contractors during the estimate process. St. Joseph's pricing was in line with the other estimates for the work required. Despite being very busy with other storm repair, St. Joseph's indicated they could perform the work within a couple of weeks. A repair date was agreed with St. Joseph's scheduler. Dave and his crew arrived promptly on the date agreed, and performed all the work specified quickly and with great professionalism. There were no surprises or added costs, and no pressure to purchase other services or products that we didn't need or want. When the work was completed, the crew cleaned up the roof and yard and left it spotless. The quality of the work has been outstanding, with absolutely no issues since the work was done. We're particularly pleased with the performance of the new larger gutters; the slope of the gutter line keeps the rainfall draining properly and not overflowing, and they're much more securely attached to the fascia and rafters than our old gutters.

Our quote was provided very quickly after our request, & the work was completed in one day, soon after we scheduled it. We were billed LESS THAN the estimate, which we think is very unusual. Very professional company. They even brought a beautiful poinsettia plant to our house for the holiday season. How nice!

We have been using St. Josephs roofing for many years, in the past to do spot repairs. We just used them to replace our whole roof. They were very responsive, their price was fair although we didn't shop around since we trusted them from past work. They performed the whole job while we were out of town, and we came back and the whole roof was done and everything was clean around our house, and the new roof looks great! We will definitely use them in the future and recommend them highly!

I located this company off of Angie's List because of it's high ratings and stellar comments. After working with them, I can say they are a 5-star company and give 5-star service. I couldn't be happier. The salesman, Mark McShurley, was excellent. He helped me immensely in looking at samples, giving me addresses to view some of their products, he even drove around with me while I pointed out homes with "the look" I was looking for. He was extremely patient, highly professional, and very timely in his responses. The crews were excellent. Each crew is led by and English-speaking person. Julio, the crew manager, was excellent and addressed all of my many questions with great patience and knowledge. They worked meticulously-- no wasting time or talking on phones. They were polite, professional, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day, aside from what they had asked permission to leave for the next day. I like how this process worked: They removed the entire roof, did the replacement/repair work, and put on the new roof. A second crew removed the siding, did the replacement/repair work while others wrapped the house, and then they installed the new siding over a period of days. My neighbor is currently getting his house done right now by another company and it is not this way at all - not nearly as efficient. Ann, in Administrative Support, who I had continuous contact with during the process from scheduling to billing, gave A+ service from start to finish. Very professional, friendly, and very timely with all contact. Everyone I encountered with this company gave top-notch customer service. After all the experiences you hear about roofing and siding companies, I feel like I uncovered a jewel. I highly recommend St. Joseph's and would definitely use them again.

St. Joseph's Roofing performed an outstanding job from start to finish. In spite of hurricane Sandy, they didn't deviate from their promised date to begin on 11/08/12, and Dave Humphries considerately made an unscheduled trip to our residence on 10/28/12, the day before the historical storm, to inspect our roof for any areas that might need flashing prior to the high winds that were being projected for Hurricane Sandy. The entire team from St. Joseph's are committed to providing only the very highest quality and that is most evident in their outstanding workmanship and expertise. They are straightforward, professional, courteous, and their contract spells out clearly what they will perform without any of the hidden costs found in other contractors we interviewed. Moreover, they provided us with a finished project that is nothing less than par excellence! They receive our very highest recommendation.

I requested an estimate to replace my roof. The estimator arrived on time. I had taken off work since he indicated he would need to inspect the inside of the attic before he could give me an estimate. After waiting over a week and not receiving an estimate I contacted the estimator, he indicated he would resend it, I regave him my email address. I never recieved an email or estimate. At that time I decided it would be best to use another roofing company and did not contact St. Joseph's again to attempt to have the estimate sent.

Our experience with St. Joseph's was great. The crew was great and spent a lot of time answering all of my husband's questions and he alwyas has a lot of questions. We would highly recommend St. Joseph's to anyone - while they are not the cheapest around you get the quality you pay for and with a roof I want the highest quality I can get.

Very prompt in coming to the property to look at the work but never received a follow up estimate or explanation of why even after trying on several occasions to make contact and being told I would hear from them. A simple courtesy call explaining why the company wasn't interested would have been nice. Just a very disappointing situation with this vendor.
