I had Maid Bright for approximately one year. The cleaning was average . Some days the kitchen floor was not scrubbed, just swept. I have a large home but I use a small portion of it, so a large part of the house was clean to start with. They were not careful with the vacuum cleaner and scratched furniture. I asked for cleaning closer to the weekend which they could not provide at the start of their service but promised they would switch as soon as they could.

I sincerely apologize for the overall misunderstanding. Our cleaning crews follow the instructions written on the estimate worksheet. On your estimate worksheet, it indicates that we need to rotate the basement cleaning every other week. We work hard to please all of our clients and are willing to do everything we can to keep them happy with our service. We have refunded $300 back to your credit card for the inconveniences we have caused. We made a phone call, and they came out to give us an estimate, we left them the code to our front door and they c an let themselves in and out. We always know after they left because it's so clean and they even fold the toilet paper rolls into nice little designs.
Description of Work: Maid Bright has been cleaning our house every 2 weeks for the past few months now. They do all the little cleaning task that you never remember, including picking up all the items and dusting under them. We've recommended them to other as well, who have similarly been happy. Am quite happy with their service and will be using them on an ongoing basis. Felt the initial visit/estimate was very thoughtfully conducted and ended with a fair representation and estimate. Only drawback was that the key they were given to enter the house was no correct and the credit card information needed to be resubmitted, after I had carefully supplied both. But we should be good to go for the future.

Called the service, determined there was no time to consuct an estimate visit. Negotiated a flat hourly rate on the phone. Crew arrived on time. Took 2 1/2 hours to do the job. The house was already very clean, but we wanted to make it spotless for the new owners. The crew made sure that happened.
Description of Work: Move out cleaning. Kitchen, kitchen appliances, wipe down counters, vacuum whole house; clean 3 1/2 bathrooms. Wipe down all cabinetry shelving. Wash and clean tile and wood floors.

I have been using Maid Bright for the past two years at my condo. I first heard about Maid Bright through my neighborhood and decided to give them a try based on their reputation. My fiancée and our two cats live together and Maid Bright comes on a bi-weekly basis to clean our home. Our two cats shed tremendously and the cleaning crew makes sure to do a thorough job dusting and also vacuuming our upholstered furniture. One big detail that makes a difference is the fact that they use a hepa-filter vacuum which diminishes allergens in your home. Also, the cleaning crew is very careful while vacuuming and dusting as to not damage any items in our home. Recently, my grandparents came for a visit and I needed a last minute, extra cleaning. They were very accommodating with my request for this last minute service call and I was extremely pleased with the level of customer service provided by the office staff. I will continue to use Maid Bright for many more years!

We used this company for approximately four months (eight services total) and have just discontinued their services. Their initial visit was by Jay who provided the estimate. He was efficient and thorough and during that visit I highlighted for him some of the key areas were interested in having the crew pay attention to, namely the kitchen and the bathrooms. My husband works from home and said it always seemed the crew was in such a hurry to get in and out that they "banged" around. They missed the details in the kitchen we were particularly keen for them to do well. We do a lot of cooking so the kitchen is an important area for us. Although the house had been cleaned - it simply didn't feel clean. It is perhaps important to note that for most of the times they came to clean - only two of us had been in the house and we are generally very tidy individuals which should have given them extra time to pay attention to the details. On another occasion we needed to change the day of our cleaning and it became so complicated trying to find a mutually agreeable time we simply decided to forgo the week and wait until the next regularly scheduled cleaning. So given all of the above, we elected to cancel our service with Maid Bright and have hence found another service. Curiously, I never received a response to my e-mail nor any follow-on phone call inquiring as to why we cancelled our service. Not that this is required but it, as was our overall experience, different than some of the others who have provided feedback here on Angie's List.
Description of Work: We hired Maid Bright to clean our home every other week - this included all of the standard elements, vacuuming, dusting, floors, bathrooms etc.

I have used them for about six months. Overall, everything is good. I did ask to have the same people but almost every time I have had different people. They are pretty prompt and also accommodating to my flexible schedule. Also, if I ever have a complaint or a problem they will handle it.

They do a good job. They are really thorough. They make sure to go under furniture to vacuum and sometimes they find missing coins for us. Their prices are fair. We had a small issue once and they resolved it immediately. We have been through a lot of cleaning agency but by far there are the best.

I called last week to schedule a consultation and was given a date and time. The morning of my appointment I called to see if I could move my afternoon appointment to half an hour later. I was told it was fine, however when Dennis called to confirm a few hours later the message wasn't relayed. I ended up being able to make the earlier appointment and Dennis was prompt. He showed me the insurance and BBB papers then walked through the apartment. I was happy with everything, except the price was much higher than anticipated. It wasn't comparable to other estimates. After reading the reviews and prices that others were paying I feel that $119 for a 670 square foot 1/1 apartment was very high since I read that a lot of other prices quoted were around $130 for 3-4 bedroom houses. I was prepared to hire Maid Bright but unfortunately I will have to go with someone else due to the cost. Updated: Jay responded to my issue very quickly and we were able to come to an agreement about the cost. I have scheduled my first cleaning with them next week. I look forward to updating this post with the results. The customer service I have received at Maid Bright has been wonderful.

They have been cleaning my house for several months, almost a year. They started out great, the first cleaning was stellar. For a while things were going pretty well. Then I noticed a drop off in the quality of the work. One thing that I have to say for this company is that they are very easy to communicate with. If I have an issue, I email Sanaz and she responds right away. She's always very pleasant and I make a real effort to be pleasant when I communicate my dissatisfaction with something. This is a tough business, this is my 4th cleaning company in the last 5-6 years. One really positive thing is that so far they haven't broken anything that I know of. Two previous companies broke things and then denied it, another one used my husband's bath towel as toilet paper (really - there was poop all over it). My most recent complaint was that I found that the mopping of the kitchen floor either wasn't being done or wasn't being done well. I had to mop the floor for some reason on the day after they cleaned, and it was quite dirty - like haven't mopped for two weeks dirty. I used a swiffer cleaner and the pad was black before I even finished. I was pretty upset and emailed Sanaz, she got on it and promised me they would ensure proper completion of the task. She also took $20 off the next cleaning. I have been double checking and have been satisifed for the last several cleanings that it is being done and that it is done properly. I also found that the ceiling fan blades were not being cleaned - there was a thick film of dust, so I did it myself. Sometimes I am concerned that the cleaners do not use sufficient amounts of cleaning product for the job - if it's not more than a couple spritzes it's just a rinse off as far as I am concerned. I am also concerned that rags/sponges used for one task should not then be used for another - eg. scrub floor with a rag to clean a stain and then use the same rag to clean the counter top. But, since I am not there to supervise, I take it on faith that it is done properly. Some crews clean around the appliances on the countertop and don't clean the back splash - they leave dust there, so I can tell it hasn't been cleaned. Sometimes they don't wipe the kitchen cabinets down or don't do it properly and they leave stains, spots, dust. But I have to say that the bathrooms are always cleaned well. I have met some of the ladies that do the cleaning and they are awfully nice. It's a hard job, On the occasions that I have been present or in and out of the house, I wonder how they can do the whole house in less than 2 hours and do everything that they are supposed to do according to the list that the owner gives you when he does the estimate. Obviously, things do get left out or sometimes are not done properly. Do I go around and check things with my hands or rags for dirt/dust - yes, I do, not every time, but every few times and not everywhere, only a few places. The crews like to fold the toilet paper and the tissues and the paper towels into pretty designs. I would rather have them spend their folding time on cleaning, but they seem to like to do this, so after requesting that they cease and desist once, I have given up. It's OK, it lets me know they have been there. It's disappointing when something is not done the way it's promised, but generally, I think that this company strives to meet it's promises. I understand that there is only so much one can do to make sure that the cleaning crews do things competely and properly, I feel like they do a reasonably good job, the crews seem to be honest and hard-working. I have recommended this company and will continue to do so.
Description of Work: The owner comes to your house to give oyu an estimate and talk about the services they perform and what you would like. They have a long list of services that their crews are supposed to do in one cleaning. They have a 2 person crew who cleans my 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house (2500 sq feet) every other week. They also strip two beds and put on new sheets. They are supposed to dust, vacuum, mop, including wipe down ktichen cabinets, clean stove top, wipe down appliances, clean bathrooms, showers, tubs, sinks, toilets, dust blinds and any cobwebs, etc. Basically, do all the things that I would do if I had the time to do them. They use their own supplies and equipment. They use products that are supposed to be environmentally friendly and not dangerous for their employees. They endeavor to send the same crew every time, but it's pretty clear from the differences in results that different crews come. I think the last few cleanings have been the same crew. I pick up toys and try to leave all surfaces as free from stuff as possible before they arrive.

We have been pleased with the level of quality that Maid Bright has been providing for the last several years at our home. They have been cleaning our home on a bi-weekly basis and we appreciate the thorough job done, the care taken with our belongings, and the pleasant, respectful, and cooperative demeanor of the cleaning crews and office staff.This past week I also needed my rental property cleaned for new tenants to move into. I called Maid Bright for the estimate and they were very prompt and explained in complete details the work that would be involved. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were cleaned from the inside and outside, as well as thorough dusting throughout the house. I hadn't seen my rental town home this clean in years! Will never use this company again, I FIRED MAID BRIGHT. Did not lock my doors was the last straw. They have been told numerous trime in writing and verbially do not touch blinds in living room because they are broken, what did they do, touched the blinds, took me 4 hours to fix. Used my dirty laundry as rags instead of the bucket of rags left for them. All the manager could say was sorry. Did not suggest not having not to pay for the cleaning that day or I will send in a new crew to reclean especially after the fact that they used my dirty laundry for cleaning. I had to tell them I would not pay for the cleaning for that day. Stayed up recleaning house myself. My advice never use this company.

Our new house is three level townhouse almost 2,000 sq ft, three bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half bathrooms. Girls arrived 30 minutes earlier and we had no problem with that. They cleaned the whole house and since it was the first cleaning I asked them to clean appliances and inside the kitchen cabinets. They did the excellent job as always. We are on biweekly schedule at the cost of $120.
Description of Work: We just moved from studio apartment in Arlington to the townhouse in Reston and we needed the cleaning before we moved in. Since I have been using Maid Bright for few years now I just called them for this service too. We had some additional work done in the house too so I had to go back and forward with Sanaz on the scheduling the cleaning. She was very helpful.

May UPDATE: Jay called and apologized for the scheduling, the lack of notification, and the misunderstandings that he feels are what led to the team showing up early unannounced and attempting to enter my home. He explained that most people just give them a key or a garage door remote and allow them to enter. He felt the team tried to come in because they are used to having access. I have a dog and I need to ensure that she has her food and water in the den with me when they get here and that she's been out recently before they come to clean. I need at least a fifteen minute notice for that. I don't leave her in a crate or locked in one room for the day and just let them come in whenever they can. I wanted them to come when I work at home and give me an estimated time frame so I could arrange things for the dog. In all seriousness, they clean well and are professional and pleasant and extremely affordable and I have had some difficulty finding a replacement cleaning company. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I felt the scheduling would not be an issue again and if I felt they would respect my privacy and not try to enter my home uninvited, but I'm not sure that it wouldn't happen again. April UPDATE: I see the company's somewhat "canned" response and I can tell you - they did NOT come late, they came EARLY without notice. I understand the occasional late arrival due to traffic and take no issue with that, especially as they give a two hour window for arrival time. I resent their coming early without notice and their attempts to enter my home uninvited. My main reason for giving them the poor grade was their scheduling. Non-existent. I asked to be their last appointment of the day and have them come in the afternoon. I would receive a message the day before with their estimated window for arrival. I work from home on the day they come, so I would be in my den (which they do not clean) with my dog (whom I keep in the den with me while they clean) and the doorbell would ring at random times in the morning. They did not call first to inform me that they had had a cancellation and ask if they could come early. They just came early. Without notice of any kind. I called to complain and was told it wouldn't happen again. The next scheduled cleaning, the doorbell rang at 10 a.m. I decided to ignore it and continued working in my den. It rang again, twice, then they knocked, then they TRIED THE HANDLE. It's not a matter of trust - I know they're licensed, bonded, insured - but a matter of PRIVACY, so their attempt to ENTER MY HOME really bothered me. I called the company and rescheduled because I knew I would not be civil if they came to my home that day. I told them what had happened and I was assured that it would not happen again, but it did. Two more incidents of early arrival without notice where I ignored the bell and knockings and two more attempts to enter, anyway, with the handle being tried. I cancelled my service. As for the cleaning, the team that came to my home most consistently did an excellent job. Always pleasant, polite, and professional. My home was always fresh and sparkling when they left and I do miss that. If you can deal with the haphazard scheduling and the complete lack of notice when they change the schedule, this company would work out well for you. For me, the lack of notice and the attempts to enter my home were unacceptable.
Description of Work: We have a three bedroom, two bath house. The company began with a deep clean, which took approximately four hours and was very thorough. I then wanted them there every two weeks to clean my kitchen, my bathrooms, dust my common areas, and do all floors. Full disclosure - I listed 3/21 as the service date because it was the final cleaning I had scheduled with them, but they have not actually cleaned my home since 3/7.

UPDATE: 3/14/12: Jay (owner) contacted me proactively this afternoon and was very apologetic. He offerred me a free cleaning for my troubles and was very receptive to my feedback. As I explained to him - everyone has a different experience and one would be hard-pressed to find any service on Angie's List that has100% "A-grade" feedback across all sources. I am very appreciative of Jay's concern for quality and responsiveness, in follow-up. Original report: 3/13/12 The upfront service was incredibly impressive. Jay, the owner, was very thorough and credible in his assessment of our home and very responsive regarding scheduling. Although expensive, our intial cleaning (which is always the longest/most thorough) was incredible. I am type-A (of the sort that cleans each line of tile grout with bleach & toothbrush) and I could find no fault with the crew - the house literally sparkled. I was so pleased I moved ahead and scheduled for the team to come in regularly. Unfortunately, my experience was downhill after the initial visit. First, I was VERY specific with Jay (during the upfront estimate process) that the only way I could hire Maid Bright would be if they could promise me I would be the first house cleaning of the day and that cleaning could be completed within 4 hours (before my toddler needed to be home for afternoon nap). I was assured that this would be no trouble - the crew would always be in and out before noon. Across the first 3 cleanings, I was repeatedly given the second cleaning of the day - which meant the team would arrive at my home post-noon and stay until 3:00 p.m. earliest. Finally, by the 4th cleaning after repeated calls to the Maid Bright office on my part, things were worked out such that the team would arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I work outside the home, but I would periodically check on how long the team stayed to clean my house - it varied cleaning by cleaning from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. The quality of the work was also hit-or-miss, week-by-week, unfortuantely. From my own experience, it is impossible for 2 people to do a solid cleaning job on a home like mine in under 2.5 hours. No cleaning was nearly as good as the initial cleaning and I often found myself re-cleaning the house the same day the Maid Bright crew had visited. As a working mom with young children, I can live with varying quality of cleaning, but the scheduling issues were unacceptable. If you promise someone they will be the first cleaing of the day, then you are obligated to honor that promise. Today, the crew didn't show up for my scheduled cleaning and nobody called to let me know. I called Maid Bright and they said they would track down the crew. 30 minutes later, the crew arrived at my home, but we had to turn them away because it was 11:00 a.m. (the time they would normally be FINISHING their cleaning) and nearly naptime for both of my young children. The Maid Bright Office never called me back to correct the issue/reschedule, so I reached out to them and terminated service. The response I was given when I called: "sorry about that."
Description of Work: Every other week house cleaning 4-5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 floors. Vacuum, dust, mop floors, clean small appliances, clean baths, kitchen. We asked the team to only clean 3 of bedrooms, as the others are not generally in use. My house is older and not particularly large, from a sq ft perspective. No changing of bed linens required, although they would have if asked.

Well, for starters, the man who came over for the estimate wore surgical scrub slippers on his feet the whole way through. I decided that instead of taking it personally I would chock it up to anal-retentiveness or germophobia (my house was dusty, at worst). Moving on - he got down to the business of explaining what they do, and what they don't. The general impression I was left with is that the latter list is longer: no windows, no wood floors, no mopping, no grout, etc. etc, although they DO wash dishes, which is ironically not on the list of needed services, as it is one of the items we manage to keep up on religiously despite our schedules. I am a novice at this, so I wasn't sure what to make of their limitations, but alas, the reviews were outstanding, and so I assumed that the "liability" associated with windexing windows was a normal thing. The gentlemen required that I be present for the first cleaning, which he estimated could take a team of two women approximately four hours. I explained that if I had the time to stand around scrutinizing the skills of a team of maids, I would do the work myself....eventually he backed off, and we arranged the start dates. I asked two things of Maid Bright: 1, I have a sweetheart of a dog. Please treat her nicely and just let her outside if she bothers the ladies. This has been fine, and I once walked in on the crew, and they were allowing her free access to their cleaning areas - regular pals. 2, Please deactivate my alarm when you enter and reset it when you leave. This was a struggle. Their first time there, the police were alerted. Apparently, the poor things worked through the screaming alarms the whole time. I easily understand needing some practice tries, particularly since I couldn't be there to show them how to work the system. More than anything else, I felt bad that they felt obligated to stay and work through a blaring alarm - I would've been fine with reschedulling. The second month, they turned it off, but not on again when they left. By the third month (and a phone call from me to clarify the importance of the alarm) they finally got it, and now I only know they've been here by the dusted surfaces. They've been with us for about six months now, and earlier on the review would've been worse, but they have gotten the hang of the alarm, my dog, etc. The 'B' comes from the inconsistency of the cleaning. I'm not sure if the crew changes, but sometimes they do the dishes, sometimes not; sometimes they vacuum under the furniture, sometimes not; same goes for lifting things to dust, etc. In addition to that, the fact that they never, as a rule, mop the wood floors, clean the grout, or wipe the windows makes me kind of ask myself why I bother. I feel like it's a justified expense some months...but not all. I must say that the administrative staff is very pleasant and responsive, so they definitely have that going for them. I once needed a last-minute reschedule for guests, and they made sure it was done with no problem.
Description of Work: A team of two ladies comes cleans for me once a month. Maid Bright offers bi-weekly and weekly cleanings as well. The initial cleaning is longer than the weekly, and is charged by the hour, after the fact. Our initial cleaning cost $375.00, and the ongoing monthly rate is $125.

Maid Bright has been cleaning our 3BR, 2BA 2-story house for a year-and-a-half. Always reliable. Always great work. Recently a family emergency caused me to send the cleaning team away when they arrived for our scheduled cleaning. The crew member reacted to my sudden dismissal with complete sympathy and professionalism. When I emailed to reschedule the cleaning, Sanaz offered to put us on the schedule for the upcoming Saturday. The team arrived around 3, and even though our cleaning came later in their day, that did not result in a reduced effort by the crew. They did an excellent and thorough job, even though family members were home and they had to work around us. We are not a particularly messy family and our home is relatively tidy and clean in general. Because of that, I notice the details of the regular house cleaning we have Maid Bright perform. They always do a great job. One crew might complete the cleaning a bit differently from another, but any concerns I bring to the attention of Sanaz are acknowledged. As a consequence of our overall experience with the house cleaning Maid Bright has provided for us for many months, I can highly recommend the company for consistent, quality house cleaning at a very reasonable price.

I called to schedule a visit to evaluate my needs. I was pleased that I actually spoke to someone instead of leaving a message. The visit was scheduled and I was also advised of the name of the individual. Dennis arrived promptly and immediately showed me liability insurance documents and bonded paperwork. He walked the house with me and said that the team (2 people) would not move anything on the furniture but rather dust around it. Based on that discussion I thought that it would be best for me to do the dusting and they could clean the bathrooms (5 1/2), hardwood floors (foyer, LR, DR, Family Room & 2nd floor hall), kitchen floor and vacuuming. When I spoke to Jay, the owner, he said that they do not perform partial cleanings. The entire house including the dusting is done. I was offered a trial cleaning and I would pay per hour instead of a flat rate for just this cleaning. I followed up with a call to the office and scheduled a cleaning. I was told I would be called the day before to advise the time. Maid Bright followed thru with the call advising an 8:30AM arrival. It was 9:10AM and the team had not arrived so I called Maid Bright for status. I was told they were on their way and would arrived in 5-10 minutes, which they did. I had requested that at least 1 person speak English. One person spoke minimal English and the other spoke no English so it was difficult to communicate. I asked that they describe the cleaning solutions. I was told that the spray bottles consisted of water with a small amount of "green" cleaning solution. They were going to use it on my hardwood as well but I asked them to use my Bona hardwood floor cleaner. (During Dennis' visit he had stated that the hardwood would be cleaned with a special wood cleaner.) I also supplied them with my Weiman granite counter cleaner. (During Dennis' visit he had stated that the granite counters would be cleaned with a granite cleaner.) Nothing was scrubbed, just wiped with the watery solution. The bathroom floors were wiped with a damp rag. The kitchen floor was also cleaned with a dirty damp rag on the end of a mop. Nothing smelled fresh or clean. Dennis also said that extension poles would be used to clean crown moldings and the furniture would be vacuumed. Neither of those took place. I paid with a check but the company requires a credit card on file even if I plan to set up regular cleanings and pay with a check. I was uncomfortable with this but if I was blown away by the cleaning I was willing to do this. Based on my experience, I will not be using their services. UPDATE TO MY COMMENTS ABOVE FEB. 25, 2012 The owner, Jay, contacted me on Saturday following my cleaning and we had a very lengthy discussion regarding my concerns expressed above. He explained that many of his current customers are worried about allergies, scents of products used and the contents of the products not only for adults but for their children and pets. Therefore Jay has changed to "green" cleaning solutions. I appreciate his thoughtfulness and willingness to please his customers. He has offered to have his crew return to clean my home with my products. I am very impressed with Jay's conscientious and desire to meet my needs; and have decided to give them a second chance. I am hopeful that all will work out. Stay tuned :) . UPDATE TO MY COMMENTS ABOVE MAR. 19, 2012 I scheduled the crew for another cleaning and also asked if Jay, the owner, was available to be here as well. A crew of 3 arrived as scheduled and Jay arrived shortly after. I had set my cleaning products out for each room and explained to the crew that they were to use most of my products. I am an type A personality and it is very important to me that my home be cleaned thoroughly. It was great meeting Jay and it gave me the opportunity to outline my expectations with him. He responded positively to all my requests, made detailed notes and said that all the information would be transferred to his office records. Jay is very personable and he is very concerned about making his clients happy. I was extremely pleased with the outcome of this cleaning. I have tried several cleaning services and have been disappointed and frustrated with the inconsistent quality of the cleaning. I have been searching for a house cleaning service that I feel confident will meet my needs. I will be scheduling monthly service with Maid Bright in hopes that they can continue with the type cleaning they provided me today so I will experience the consistent superior service I require. We have been using the Maid Bright's services for few years already and have been very happy with their performance. We are on the monthly schedule and we always get the same crew who is very familiar with the condo and after every cleaning our house is spotless. Girls are very friendly, pleasant, quick, and professional. They are very careful about our our personal belongings. Also, the office staff is very responsive, if we need to reschedule the cleaning.
