Maid Bright

We were looking for a cleaning service - I made a few calls and was really interested in Maid Bright due to their A rating here on Angies List. I spoke with them on Thursday looking for a estimate for Saturday - however the manager came out on Friday morning (at a time that was convenient to me) - gave us a great quote and even organized for a team to come the very next day (Saturday) for the intial deep clean. The ladies that arrived were friendly and AMAZING !!!! Our house is spotless (and that says a lot since we have 2 dogs with long hair and who love the mud in our back yard) I look forward to on going services with Maid Bright - twice a month Thank you Maid Bright !! Great service and amazing work !!

They are very good at cleaning the house. They will take the garbage with the. They even empty the paper shredder. The kitchen and baths are spotless. Overall a company I would recommend to anyone.

Very well, they did just what was promised.

They came by to do an in house estimate and I was very impressed with the professionalism. There was also a detailed explanation of the cleaning products, their process, what they will and will not clean, etc. The representative did a great job taking the time to answer all my questions. We had our initial cleaning with a 2 person crew and were very satisfied with the level of service. The cleaning crew was very thorough. We have decided to go with Maid Bright for a regular, monthly cleaning.

Although they are punctual and professional, we found their cleaning to be subpar. They did not "deep clean" as we expected. We regularly found areas that seemed to have been missed altogether. Before electing to terminate our services, I stayed home to watch one final cleaning. Two women "cleaned" a 3 floor townhouse in 1 hour. No wonder they were missing spots and being less diligent than we expected.

It feels like it's a good price. One thing I wish they would do is laundry but they do not do laundry. I have a contract with them. Somebody came to the house to do a sit-down talk with me. They just seemed willing to negotiate a price that was useful for what we've experienced with other people. They seem organized and professional.

They provide great service and value. The office is very responsive. Maid Bright is flexible and allowed us to change our cleaning date on multiple occasions. I would recommend Maid Bright to anyone who is looking for quality service at an affordable rate.

This is the 4th time (I believe) that Maid Bright has cleaned my home. The cleaners are thorough and professional. The company is bonded, so I gave them duplicate keys and I do not have to be home when they arrive. I am very pleased with the work that Maid Bright does for me.

The first visit was very good. They were very thorough in their cleaning and performed just as had been explained to me when we set up the service. At my request, they used my hardwood floor cleaner on all my hardwood floors. The house sparkled when they left. The second visit the house was not quite as clean. They forgot to clean the counter in the butler's pantry (no big deal, as I just wiped it with a cloth later that night when I realized it had been forgotten). But they did not clean the wood floor with my cleaner. They dusted it with a dry mop, but I could still see the dirt on the floor and the bottle of floor cleaner was still full sitting on my counter. I did call the office & ask if they were going to clean the wood floor every visit with my cleaner and she confirmed that yes, it should be done each visit. She offered to send them out to do it, but I declined and said to remind the cleaning staff for next visit. She said she would note my file. The 3rd visit was not a good experience. They dusted the furniture and ran the duster across the pictures on my wall (they were crooked after they left). The bathroom sinks still had rings around the bottom where the plug ring fits. And they actually took one of my broken sink stopper plugs (it was not broken by them--it was old & had been broken before we ever hired them, but we left it propped over the sink drain, so it should have been left either in the sink or next to the sink like they did the first 2 visits). They used a wet mop on my wood floor (it was a soaking wet mop with a bucket of water--which should NEVER be used on hardwood floors unless you want to ruin the wood floor finish). The spray wood floor cleaner I provide for their use was still sitting on the counter, unused. I called the office and told them about the incidents and they were very responsive and sent the owner,Jay, to my home. He was very professional, polite & attentive, and went to Home Depot to buy me a new sink plug. He offered to send the cleaning team back to the house to do the wood floors again, and told me that they do not usually use owner's cleaning products because they have a line of products they use and that they smell like lavender. But in all 3 visits, I never did smell any lavender scent, and I wanted them to use the cleaning product I bought & supplied to them because I have used the same wood floor cleaner for years and am confident in its performance. Jay said that the particular brand of cleaner I use can cause the floors to be sticky. I have used the same floor cleaner for 12 years and have never ever had it make the floors sticky. (My bottom line on this disagreement is that it's my home, my floor and my choice as to which cleaner gets used on it). Jay also suggested that because my bathrooms are older that perhaps the cleaning team should not fully clean, but rather gently wipe the sinks to avoid breaking them. I feel that the bathroom sinks are fine to clean with normal conditions--and if something breaks, just tell me, don't take the parts away for me to discover later. Ultimately I decided this was not going to work out for my family. I just felt like there were too many things going wrong with the same cleaning crew on this 3rd visit. Jay said I could give them a key and they could come on their own, but I was not confident that it would work out for me & my family. I told Jay that I found them from so many positive reviews on Angie's List, so I'm sure they are good for many people but I just didn't feel like it was going to work for me. Maybe a different crew would have made the difference. Jay did mention that they offer $50 off a house cleaning if a customer completes an Angie's Review. I am no longer a customer and I am not getting any discounts on anything to do this review. I am not going to go back to them because I don't think they are the right company for me & my family. But if you have a smaller home without custom finishes or flooring and without older sinks, then they might be a good match for you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Up to response by Maid Bright: 3/16/13: As I told Jay when he called me to ask if I wanted a different cleaning crew to come to my house to clean, I decided that my family will not be using Maid Bright anymore. It has now been about 6 weeks since the last cleaning when the crew used a bucket of water to clean my wood floors. The wood floors are now splintering and fraying and will now have to be refinished because the water damaged the surface of the floor. It is very unfortunate that the crew damaged my home by not using the cleaning products I supplied and it is even more unfortunate that the owner of the company tried to justify their actions. I will use extreme caution with any future cleaning services, as this experience will now cost me much more than just the money paid to the cleaning service. I have talked to people who love Maid Bright, but they did not have this cleaning crew. So I guess if you get lucky and get the right cleaning crew, you could have an experience that is different from mine. But my personal experience was not good. Personally, it's not worth the extra damage caused to my home to consider them anymore.

I'm pretty satisfied with Maid Bright. They do some weird things. Every time they come, they take our hall rugs and vacuum them and then put them into the bathroom. I have no idea why. They take the lid off the garbage pail and then they don't put it back on. They do a good job cleaning. They use natural products and do background checks on all their employees.

Update - Maid Bright management contact us and explained the internal error and offered to remidiate the situation. Maid Bright's extra effort was professional and appreciated, they changed our minds and we'll give them another chance.

Overall, we are very pleased with the service we receive. Two cleaners come to our house every other week and spend approximately two hours (i.e. four total person hours) cleaning the upstairs and main floor. This includes stripping and making the beds (as long as we leave out clean sheets), rotating the mattress, cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming the carpets and rugs, mopping the hardwood floors, cleaning the kitchen, dusting the shelves and furniture, and perhaps some other things that I cannot think of right now. The cleaners are professional, they get right work, and they are honest and trustworthy (in three years, we have not had an issue with any broken or missing items). The main office is always helpful and responsive if we need to reschedule a cleaning and they typically call the day before to confirm they are coming and at what time. I recommend them.

A Maid Bright crew has been cleaning my home on a monthly basis for just over a year now. I was very pleased with my initial consultation as a representative came to my home and was able to give me a detailed outline of what would be cleaned. I also received a price quote and was able to arrange for automatic payments as well as key-handling procedures during this initial visit. The representative was extremely professional in both his manner and his dress. My home is always beautiful after the crew has been here to clean. I am extremely picky about the work they do and have contacted Maid Bright to have an overlooked area cleaned on two occasions. On one occasion, the crew cleaned the wrong bedroom, and on another occasion, they overlooked the master bath. However, I emailed the Maid Bright office and the work was performed the next day on each occasion!! Additionally, I believe the error occurred because I had switched cleaning dates on each occasion and a different crew who was unfamiliar with my home had performed the work. Furthermore, their customer service is excellent...especially Sanaz!. Whenever I have had to contact them for anything, they have always been prompt and professional in their response. They acknowledge me by name and are always very thorough in explaining what will happen or be done. I would recommend the Maid Bright team without reservation. You will always be happy with their professionalism and their work.

I have been using Maid Bright for several months now and love them. They are reasonably priced and flexible. I live in a three story home and only have the main floor cleaned every other week. However, with advance notice I sometimes opt to have the other floor cleaned. Maid Bright always calls the day before to confirm the time the cleaners will arrive and they have always arrived in that timeslot. A few cleanings in I did have an issue with them switching out my cleaning crew and I was not nearly as pleased with the quality of cleanliness. I called and expressed my concern, the next visit my old crew was back and the quality was back to Awesome! I have requested to keep that crew. They get in every nook and cranny, under rugs, windows, etc. I am very pleased with Maid Bright and will recommend them to anyone who asks.

We were moving out of military housing and we needed to have a deep clean done for the move-out inspection. I typically do the move out cleaning myself, but I have a significant daily commute, work full time and am also a full time grad student soI just didn't have the band width to do my spectacular, military grade clean that I have done in the past (I have always gotten my deposit back wherever we have moved out from). We did have a little bit of a problem with getting the crew there on time as they were required to go through a security checkpoint to get to our home on the military post. It seems that the cleaning crew were not treated well at the security gate (which my husband addressed later) and they were very intimidated so they left. On a personal note, this has happened to visiting family before, so this was not a surprise, just another aggravation which cemented one of the reasons to move off of post. However, the office was consistently communicating with us and were very apologetic and accommodating. We made arrangements for my husband to meet the crew at the gate the next day and they were able to get in and get their cleaning done. At the time we had been hearing that many who were moving out of the military housing were being charged for their home not being clean enough when the renters vacated. Not so after Maid Bright finished with our place! We were told by the housing authority during our move out inspection that our place was the cleanest they had seen in a year and we received all of our pre-paid rent back as a result. The place was cleaner than when we had moved in! It was definitely a load off of our shoulders and the best money we have ever spent. We will use them again.

We have been very happy with the cleaning service from Maid Bright. They do a thorough job and we haven't had any problems.

I started looking for a cleaning company after I returned to work full-time following my maternity leave. When a representative from Maid Bright first came to my house, I was very impressed with their presentation and thought the price estimate they gave me was reasonable. I had never hired a cleaning company before and didn't really know what to expect. They came for the first cleaning and when I came home that day I was so excited. Overall the house looked great, but there were several little things that came to my notice. A few lights in the house were left on, many things were not put back where they belonged (including many of my belongings from the bathroom counter which were thrown in the cabinet under the sink), and the sink in the laundry room had not been cleaned. I called them the following day and explained my concerns and was assured that they would be noted and communicated to the cleaning crew. The next time they came was several weeks later (due to the hurricane) and the laundry room sink did not get cleaned again. I called them back again and was again told that the cleaning crew would be informed. The third time they failed to clean the laundry room sink I was told that they don't routinely clean laundry room sinks (so the story changed) but that they would definitely do so the next time since I requested it. The fourth time it didn't get cleaned I finally insisted that they come back and do it, which they did the following day. It looked great and I thought that was the end of the issue. Unfortunately, it was just the beginning. There is a hose that leads from our washing machine to the laundry room sink which is how the water from the washing machine drains when it is run. I ran a load of laundry later that evening and when I went into the laundry room, I walked into a lake. The cleaners had moved the drain hose to clean the sink (???) and had not replaced it and as a result, the laundry room and that whole end of the basement were flooded! It took my husband and I over an hour and almost every towel in our house to clean up the mess. My husband called them the next day and they agreed to refund our money for that cleaning and assured us it wouldn't happen again. But this was when I started thinking about looking for another company- I just didn't know if I had the energy to try to find one. Little things kept happening, though: for example, the cleaning crew altered the controls on my alarm clock one day and the next morning I woke up over half an hour late. The final straw came this past week. For my first bi-weekly cleaning, I was called in advance and told the cleaning crew would be at my house between 10 am and noon. Before the next cleaning, I hadn't heard from anyone so I called them and asked when the crew would be coming. I was told that they would always be there between 10 and noon and never thought anything of it after that. Last week, when I got home from work at 5 PM, the crew was in my house. I have things to do when I get home from work that do not involve dodging a cleaning crew. I went and picked my daughter up from daycare and had to walk around on wet floors while holding her. I was REALLY unhappy. They were cleaning the upstairs when I got home and it seemed to me that they moved to the downstairs and then left extremely quickly. It didn't even seem like they worked on the downstairs for longer than about 15 minutes. I was planning on calling the office the next day about this. That night I started a load of laundry right before bed. The next morning when I went downstairs to put the laundry in the dryer- ANOTHER FLOOD! That's right- in their haste to get out of my house, the cleaning crew left the hose out of the sink AGAIN. That was the end. My husband called them and told them we no longer needed their services. They gave him a hard time on the phone about returning our key and still wanted to charge us for the cleaning that day. My husband stood firm and they relented. The bottom line? Having someone clean my house is supposed to make my life easier, not harder. It is supposed to relieve stress, not cause it. And there is just a consistent lack of attention to detail and a carelessness shown by this company that I can no longer tolerate. It seems that they are more concerned with jamming in as many clients as possible and getting the job done quickly than getting it done well. On to the next company.

The team arrived as scheduled, were professional in appearance and gracious in manner. After some brief instructions, they went right to work. We have a large townhouse with a 5 year old we refer to affectionately as the Tornado, a large dog and a cat, so this was not an easy job. They worked diligently for nearly 4 hours and the results were a spotless, clean smelling, beautiful home again. Thank you Maid Bright!

I discontinued my service with another company because they were not helpful nor very good at their craft. Maid Bright is exactly what I was looking for! I am very happy with my bi-weekly service and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

We use Maid Bright cleaners every two weeks. They are prompt and thorough. If we need to reschedule or add/remove a room from the cleaning schedule, they do so easily and without a problem. Love them and would highly recommend Maid Bright!

I called the company to get a in home consultation because they service Montgomery County, MD per their description of areas and was told that they don't come to that area. I live in Germantown, MD which is in Montgomery County.

They've been cleaning our house monthly for about a year. They are reliable, quick, and patient with our clutter!

I called this company because of their reputation on Angie's List. We initially arranged for them to do a complete empty house cleaning, and now they come once a month for a regular cleaning. We've had no issues, they are always on time, and always ask if I want to check their work after they are done. They are willing to do specific jobs that are not in the "usual" list - like wiping down a wall that tends to get dirty due to small kids. I have noticed a missed item once or twice after they leave but never anything glaring - usually just my compulsiveness showing itself - and I'm sure they would have fixed it if I had noticed it while they were here. Overall a good job and reasonable price.

This is an excellent maid service. We've been with them over 6 months and receive a cleaning every 2 weeks. The owner is very professional and the staff is very courteous and responsive. They are also, in my experience, reasonably priced. They are clearly looking to establish and long term working relationship and keep your business through excellent work and customer service (vice restrictive contracts), which I appreciate. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We have had Maid Bright for about 6 months now, and we couldn't be happier. We called multiple companies to inquire about housecleaning and were most impressed with Maid Bright. We were able to pick the day and time that works best for our schedule and have had the same crew for all cleanings except one. The two women who come each month are prompt, respectful, and do a wonderful job. They work fast, but they are detailed. When they leave, I oooh and ahhh over how clean my house is! I am thrilled with the job that they are doing!
