Maid Bright

They finished our modest townhouse in under three hours. The work appears to be good and thorough. The crew was prompt and efficient. I plan to work with them again. Only thing I would change is that did not receive the exact time the crew was scheduled for and was unable to reach anyone to confirm that information until they were already at the house, while I was unavoidably engaged elsewhere. As a result I was unable to be present for the initial cleaning as I had planned.

I have a three level single family home and was looking for a maid service that I could use monthly. I started using Maid Bright for the first time last November 2015. Two gentlemen came out to give me an estimate and showed me many powerpoint slides of their accolades, credentials and achievements. They gave me an estimate of $207 for the first deep cleaning and $169 for subsequent monthly services. By the way, I mentioned that they would never need clean my basement since there is no basement bathroom and the entire floor is filled with a multitude of music equipment and instruments (live and recording). Cables are scattered across the floors (which would make it difficult to vacuum), and we agreed that the equipment and instruments should not be handled. I was very pleased with the overall results of the initial deep cleaning even though two kitchen windows sills were overlooked (they really did a lot so I was not discouraged). They even cleaned underneath the electronics from my entertainment cabinet. I cheerfully scheduled another appointment for the following month ($144 using $25 off coupon). This second time, with a different crew, I politely pointed out that the kitchen window sills needed to be addressed. The maids did not speak English so I pointed to both window sills and the woman gave me a nod. I thought she understood what I was trying to communicate, however when they left, my window sills were still dirty. When vacuuming one of my couches, rather than switching to the upholstery attachment the lady picked up the vacuum and continued to use the floor attachment which is not appropriate for upholstery. Instead actually wiping down my baseboards properly, I watched one of the ladies hastily swipe at the baseboards with the end of a cloth without even covering the full length of the baseboard. They also marred my dresser. Overall, much of the cleaning was cursory. I called to mention my experience (with no response from the woman that took my call) and reluctantly scheduled a third appointment for the next month. I requested a different cleaning crew. I was hoping my recent experience was an exception, since my first cleaning was exceptional. My third appointment was not much better than the last. Once again, with a different crew, the job was rushed and the cleaning was superficial.Kitchen window sills were once again overlooked and the master bedroom walk-in closet was not vacuumed. They were in and out in under an hour and fifteen minutes. I almost forgot, each time the cleaning crew arrived, they never knocked at my door, but instead just let themselves in. I found this to be highly unusual. I have decided to seek services from another Angie?s List provider.

I have been using Maid Bright for monthly service since mid-2013. They consistently do excellent work, and the workers are cheerful and pleasant. I once complained that my kitchen floor was left with standing water, and it never happened again. For a 2 1/2 year relationship, I can only say that I am definitely convinced that this is the best service I have ever found.

For the most part all went well. I did have to ask that the blades of the fans be cleaned. A little more time needed to be spent on cleaning the wood floors in the foyer and in the kitchen area, but they saved this for last and didn't budget enough time. I have my fourth cleaning with Maid Bright in February. Hopefully, I will get a top team of two and I can continue to use this service; otherwise, I have been given another recommendation.

Generally, they clean very well. However, there are some things that bother me. They could clean the corners of the rooms where the floors meet the walls more carefully. Also, they nick the walls of my staircase, both with their equipment and their hands -- so I have black marks and grease stains up and down the staircase and on other walls in my hallway. When I try to remove the marks, the paint comes off too, and then the walls look worse! I am very disappointed that the gals cannot seem to go up and down my stairs without touching the walls. I seem to be able to do it all the time. Oh, and I live alone so I know that there is no one else touching the walls. Perhaps their equipment is too heavy and they need to brace themselves against the wall as they go up and down.. However, that should not be the case. If it is, they need lighter equipment in my opinion. I just don't see the reason to be touching any of my walls with their bare hands or equipment -- and leaving marks. Some of my walls have been freshly painted. And I also do not subscribe to the theory that "over-time" this time of wear and tear happens. If you have children, perhaps yes. But I live alone and there are no children. Anyway, they do a good job cleaning the Master bedroom bathroom -- a much better job after earlier. And whoever is coming now is to be commended for doing such a nice job with keeping the grout around the bathtub clean and nice and white. Thank you! We have an appointment every three weeks for Maid Bright to clean our home. The in-home service that Maid Bright provides generally is thorough and well worth the price. The scheduling service, however, is not great. If they cancel your appointment for any reason (e.g., it falls on a holiday), they usually do not reschedule your appointment. Instead, they just cancel the appointment and will come to the next time you are scheduled. In the one instance in which Maid Bright called to reschedule when they cancelled (i.e., snow storm Jonas), they are not willing to give the folks whose appointments are cancelled any priority in rescheduling their appointments.

The first cleaning I received from Maid Bright was alright, but since then, most services have been fair. I've had to email several complaints: maids weren't dusting ceiling fan blades, Venetian blinds, or wiping baseboards (all enumerated in their contract). I even had to call them back in April last year because window ledge by the front door had a huge pile of pine needles under it...stillh from the previous Christmas, which was about 6 cleanings prior. The office has been very receptive when I've had issues, but I think the maids are just trying to get in and out as fast as possible, without taking much care in their work. The owner impressed me by coming to my house to check out my complaints, though his explanation that the maids wouldn't clean my ceiling fan blades or the Venetian blinds because they were high (though I can't imagine what ceiling fans aren't high). I'd expect that they'd have appropriate cleaning tools if they're going to commit to doing a job. All in all, a fair service. Quite expensive for what they're doing. It seems to come out to about $80 per person for an hour of work.

Off to a great start. After contacting Maid Bright by email through Angies List, I promptly received a phone call. The representative was detailed, thorough and able to address all of my questions. Oscar arrived for the scheduled in-home quote that afternoon. He arrived in a company vehicle, on-time and very professional. He introduced himself and provided a brief introduction about the company. Walking through the property, we discussed the services that best suited the situation. Oscar was receptive to my questions and concerns and provided a realistic quote for the job. Before Oscar departed, I was able to establish an account and schedule service. This experience has exceed my expectations thus far.

Excellent. In the process of cleaning the refrigerator they broke a light bulb. I was notified immediately and they offered to pay for it. I'm impressed.

The cleaning team is very efficient, professional and consistent.

We've been customers of Maid Bright for about a year now, and are very happy with the cleaning service the team that comes to our house provides. They know our preferences and I don't need to leave notes or instructions anymore. They leave everything sparkling, and it's great to come home to a nice, clean house. I also appreciate how flexible the service is if I need to cancel or reschedule. I have been very satisfied with the company.

The service is always professional and punctual. Recently the office adopted e-mail message reminders, which are sent out a day before the scheduled visit. If anything specifically needs to be cleaned, one can bring this to the cleaning team's attention and they gladly do it.

I've been using Maid Bright for several years now. They do a good job and the few times there was a problem, I called and they took care of right away. I particularly like the fact that I generally get the same team of cleaners every month. Although there was a price increase this past year, it was the first increase in the many years that I've used the service

Maid Bright has cleaned our house four times so far. Overall, I find them to provide adequate enough cleaning services to use them for now, but their service could use some improvement. The initial estimate process went very smoothly. They are responsive to emails on Angies List and happy to come by to provide an estimate at a time that is convenient for you. The salesman will talk all about their organic cleaning products and how thorough and consistent they are. Sounds great, right? We were given an estimate of $109 for a biweekly cleaning (or $129 for a monthly cleaning) for our 1300 sq ft DC townhouse with two bedrooms (one has a bed, the other a crib), an office, 1.5 baths, 1 kitchen and dining and living rooms. If we want the basement included (1 bath and a mini kitchen and bed), then it is an additional $20. Overall, this price was among the lower of the estimates that we received, but not the cheapest. In the end, we decided to use them because they are a large, insured company and their price was good. Like most big cleaning companies, they require you to pay for a deep cleaning first before you can move to their routine cleaning schedule, even though we had been having our house cleaned regularly already so there was not a lot of built up dirt. Their first deep cleaning is charged on an hourly basis for $69/hr for two cleaners at a time. Our 3 hour, 15 minute cleaning was rounded up and we were charged for 4 hours. The "deep" clean was ok, but they did not dust on top of picture frames/mirrors or high shelves, they missed several baseboards, they didn't seem to go out of their way to find grime like on kitchen cabinet doors or drawer fronts, the tile back splash wasn't cleaned, and there were crumbs in corners that were missed. They didn't clean the windows themselves either (just a dry wipe on the frames). Overall, I felt like their cleaning wasn't much better than the routine cleaning we had already been having done for half of the cost. One thing that is worth mentioning is that they charge extra for cleaning your oven ($45) or refrigerator ($25, I think?). Reasonable when it is an addition to your flat rate for routine cleaning, but we wanted those items cleaned while they were doing the deep cleaning and I had to keep reminding them that there should not be an extra charge for those items since we were already paying by the hour - there should only be an hourly charge otherwise you're being charged twice. Keep an eye out for this. Since the deep clean, the routine cleanings have been just ok. They typically send 3 ladies who are at our house for just under 1 hour (total $109). They cover the basics (floors, counters, tub, etc) but I have to remind them about things like on top of the refrigerator or baseboards. The grout in the shower never seems to get clean even though the old cleaners got it clean every time - and yes, we leave them special bleach cleaner just for the shower since they only use organic cleaners that are not great at cleaning bathrooms. They won't do ANY dishes whatsoever (not even a single dish in the sink) or any laundry. They also won't touch any papers that look important, so you really have to pre-clean to get everything out of the way before they come to clean your place. After I complained about some of the dirty spots after the first routine cleaning, I was offered for them to come back 4 days later, but by then we had family in town and it was too late. Communicating with the company is easy over email (particularly for scheduling), but their customer service reps and their cleaners do not seem to be in very good communication. For example, when we were told that they should arrive between 12 and 2pm and then they had not arrived by 3:30pm, nobody had called to let us know they would be later and actually would not arrive until after 4pm. It seems like if you have already called that day for an arrival time, they should know that you are planning your day around that time and should proactively provide an update if they are running late. Also, I discovered that they had been overcharging us for a few of the cleanings and when I pointed it out, I was told I would get a credit on the next cleaning instead of a refund for past overages. We will keep working with them for now and try to get these issues resolved, but if they continue we will probably look for another service that pays more attention to details. **Update: Maid Bright called me promptly to follow up and assure me that the quality of their service will improve. I will update my review if their service improves.

They do an outstanding job, and I wish we could afford their service twice a month. I know that they have a further discount for twice monthly service. If you use them, you won't regret it.

I've been using maid bright cleaners for the last 3 years and they do a good job cleaning. I've had a few situations where things were were missed and they always come back to fix it. If I ever have a problem they always make it right.

I have been using Maid Bright for monthly cleanings of our house for almost 1 year. They are always punctual, and always notify you the day in advance as to a 2 hour time frame during which they will arrive. They give you the same cleaning team each time if you are a regular customer, so you know who is coming to your house. They do a good job for a monthly cleaning. It isn't a deep cleaning, but that's not what I'm paying them for, so it's not what I would expect. I am please with the value I get for what I am paying them, and will continue to use their services.

The Last Time: - Quite a bit of MOLD remained in the grout of the master bath walls. - Quite a bid of hard water marks remained in the corners of the master bath shower floor. - One shower did not look like it was cleaned. - We stripped a bed. The maids made the bed but did NOT place new sheets (that were placed on a dresser) on the bed. If they did not see any sheets, they should have asked. - A ring in the kitchen sink remained. Took me about 30 seconds to remove it with Ajax. * Had I notified MB of all this, they would have probably sent the folks back out. Just did not have the time. Sometimes: - Soap scum is left the grout on the master bath shower. - Marks from their black vacuum attachments are left on the stair and base molding. - They do not vacuum under three area/oriental runs in the master bedroom (just vacuum around them). - Forget to vacuum the master bedroom closed. - Do not wipe marks off doors and walls. Maybe this is something they do not do. On the Good Side: - Dusting. - Vacuuming. - Pleasant. Although they are not perfect, we still like them but wish all the cleaning crews were consistent with what they do. UPDATE: Maid Bright really cares about customer satisfaction and ensured that the most recent cleaning was excellent and that future cleanings will also be excellent. Of note, the cleaning crew that cleaned in January (see "The Last Time" above) was not the regular crew and we did leave Clorox by the master bath. We almost always have the same crew (a great thing) and they made sure the house was cleaned properly this time. We look forward to receiving great service from Maid Bright.

The ladies are very efficient and very respectful of us when we have to be in the house as they are cleaning. The do occasionally leave lights on, but it's not that big a deal. I highly recommend them to my friends.

I have been using Maid Bright for 1.5 years and have been pleased with their services. Only once have I had a cleaning that was not up to my standards. After that I contacted Maid Bright and they offered to send a crew back out to my home the next day and made a note in my account to not send that crew to my home again. On a few occasions I've had to reschedule and they made that very easy and with no hassle. The cleaners are pretty thorough and always courteous. One feature that I have enjoyed is recently they have started to email me to confirm my appointment, as previously they called for confirmation. They make my life a lot easier, that's for sure!!! I would definitely recommend Maid Bright services.

After their service, the house is clean but without the strong smell of chemical cleaners. They usually use the same cleaning crew; I can tell because the bathroom towels are folded in a certain attractive way. They follow directions such as not emptying the trash bin I've labeled (it's full of papers for shredding). I don't know if they are punctual because I am not home when they perform the services. Disclosure: I was offered a discount off my next cleaning in exchange for a review.

Wehave been using Maid Bright for at least three years, and they have done a wonderful job. The ladies who come are hard workers, are careful about their cleaning, and do a great job address some tough tasks (i.e., cleaning the stove hood, dusting the liquor bottles, cleaning out the medicine cabinet).

We have been using Maid Bright for over a year. They were the best priced option and we always come home to a very clean house.
