Over the past two years I've used Matt and his Living Color team on multiple projects in my 4-story Arlington town home, including repainting my interior, refinishing and installing wood flooring, installing custom iron railing in my stairways, and repairing water damage to a 2nd story deck. In every case Living Color has been great. Matt, the owner, is a consummate pro who puts clients first. Pricing is very fair for the market. For each project he took care to send the same crew and crew chief, who now know my home. His team are always polite, professional, qualified and efficient. Lastly, I've been at home during all projects, and have noticed that the crew work well as a team and seem to enjoy their work, which to me, importantly, speaks well of how Matt runs his business and treats his employees. I'd recommend Living Color without hesitation, and I'll call on them again when the need arises.

Matt yusufhanoglu and his company Living colors did a phenomenal job in restoring my 1958 ranch house into a gem. The house was empty and in terrible condition on the inside. With the help of his architect Matt was able to present me with multiple choices based on the open floor plan that I wanted in the main living area. This included tearing down an attached room and building a beautiful sunlit addition that extended the kitchen area and added a sun room. Matt and his site lead Carlos also creatively found space to add a full second bathroom to make the house an efficient 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. I can’t say enough about the quality of the work and the amazing interior design selections such as cabinets, windows, flooring and associated hardware that made this house my dream come true.

Living Color was wonderful! Very easy to work with, great attention to detail, on time and on budget!

I have used Matt and his company for almost 12 years. He has done small and huge jobs in our condo and then our single family home. I can’t say enough about our experience with him each and every time. I have referred him more times than I can keep track and anyone who has worked with him has the same things to say. He has a wonderful eye for design and detail, and makes excellent suggestions and helps guide choices as needed. He always answers the phone when I call and on numerous occasions has dropped everything to meet me at a store to help purchase or make decisions. He is 100% reliable - when he says he will be there at 8am, he is in front of the house at 7:50 and waiting for the clock to turn before he knocks when he said he would! When he estimates the work will take 5 days, or 2 or 3 weeks, it is done in that time frame and never over. His pricing is incredibly fair - period, but also for the quality of work and his responsiveness that you will get as part of the pricing. Lastly, he is simply one of the nicest people I know. Soft spoken and humble, combined with confidence and strength. He is and will always be our “go to” for all things home related.

I’ve been using Matt and his team for years! They renovated my kitchen, basement, bathrooms, painting, and various handyman work. They do it all! Prices are very reasonable and they are honest and do a great job. I highly recommend them.

Friendly, professional service. Their cabinet supplier can get the cabinets in a week vs 6 weeks for most suppliers. They priced the labor separately, so I was able to budget better by knowing exactly how much I was paying for granite & cabinets (price listed includes this).

Service Crew was punctual and responsive to questions and detail changes. Used the Behr Paint furnished by us instead of the standard paint they normally use. Quality of the work is outstanding and our neighbors are amazed.

Excellent work at a fair price. Matt listened carefully to my requirements, budget limits and timelines and developed a solution that I was very happy with. I particularly appreciated the willingness to meet my deadline for having the work complete, and the fact that a number of other miscellaneous items were taken care of within the original quote rather than used as an up-sell opportunity. Highly recommended.

Matt is a very nice, professional person. All went well with a slight exception for the garage doors- they are mahogany wood and the wood panels used to replace the originals did not match the original wood type, nor the grain. Hence, the grain, which shows through as well as the stain color on the new panels do not match well with the original panels surrounding them. Matt tried very hard to be helpful and came back to re-stain the panels a few times. I am a professional in the design/architecture industry and tried to help with suggests as to how we could arrive at a color that would match best. Each time we spoke about it, he was responsive, professional and courteous. Ultimately, I would work with him again on other projects due to his professionalism.

Spectacularly! Time was of the essence, and Matt and his crew won the competition over five other firms, on both timeliness and cost. We ended up having to substantially increase the scope of work originally planned, and Matt and the crew rose to every challenge. The house simply looks wonderful--better than new! The master bath, foyer, kitchen/family room, and powder room in particular all are outstanding--couldn't be better. The tile work in particular is really impressive. We just can't say enough good things about Matt and Living Color! Many thanks, guys!

Matt was always very responsive and his crew was very courteous and professional.? It is difficult to find a reliable contractor who can perform so many various tasks and stay on budget.? I would certainly recommend Living Color and will keep them in mind for future work.

Matt and his team do a great job. The paint looks great and the handyman tasks were all completed well. In particular, the work for the deadbolt was more complicated than expected (weatherstripping, etc) to make it fit correctly, but they did an excellent job with it and the lock was never that smooth! The painting work included some wall paper removal, and also extensive sanding/prep work in another room. The end product looks great. Touch up was completed as needed to put the finishing touches on the job. They were a pleasure to work with, and have already been recommended to numerous friends needing a painter and/or handyman.

Matt's crew completely renovated our kitchen & two upstairs bathrooms. In the kitchen they removed all old cabinets, fixtures, counters, and both tile & wood flooring. Then they installed new cabinets, travertine backsplash, granite countertops, new sink & fixtures, new hardwood floors, relocated ceiling pot lights, & painted all walls & trim. All work was top notch! For our two upstairs bathrooms, his crew completely removed all tile & walls from the shower & bathtub areas; removed old tile flooring and cabinets; removed outdated medicine cabinets. They installed new walls, tiles, tub, shower & bath plumbing fixtures; installed new cabinets, sink/countertop, sink fixtures, tile flooring, and new light fixtures; and painted all walls & trim. Our master bathroom is small with a shower only, so we were very determined to find a way to add some additional storage without taking up room. Matt was able to find the space and add an additional tall cabinet inset into the wall that turned out perfect! They also replaced the hardwood flooring in the front entryway and painted all walls & trim in our living room/dining room. Upstairs they installed beautiful crown molding in the master bedroom, painted walls, and installed new doors on closet & bath. Matt is the nicest guy ever and so easy to work with. He was very helpful with suggestions and patient with all our questions and changes. His crew was hardworking, skilled, and professional. Matt was able to craft some amazing solutions to design issues that we encountered (such as fitting the larger double sink we wanted into the (smaller) base cabinet we had purchased). All work was completed within his 2 week estimate, and he was always very responsive to calls. Our new kitchen and bathrooms are amazing and we are very happy with the renovation. We would definitely used him again for any additional work we need!

Price was a little steep but they offered personal best practices suggestions to bring things back where they need to be. really appreciate the work.

Matt and his crew are incredible. ?Matt quickly responded to an email and came over the next day to look at the house and gave me an estimate and some new ideas. ?He provided me a detailed quote within the hour and he and the crew were at my house starting the job at 8 am the next day. ?They were able to get everything done within the week estimated timeline and Matt even came over on a Saturday to install the new blinds once they arrived. ?Also, the movers (from a different company) caused some damage to the freshly completed walls and paint and Matt arranged to have it fixed that afternoon (thanks Karlos!). ?I cannot recommend Matt and his crew enough, they are just amazing. ?I hope to use them again someday to redo the kitchen and bathroom. ?You will not regret hiring Matt.

Living Color Painting & Restoration provided me a quote promptly. They were pretty professional, so I was happy. We didn't go with any of the contractors. It was just that we didn't need to do it. Their prices were pretty high. I honestly don't have much to share with others on Angie's List.

A general contractor saves the day My wife and I recently purchased a condo in the Washington, DC metro area. We were excited to create a warm, relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. By withdrawing a significant amount of money from our retirement savings, we decided to renovate both bathrooms by replacing the bathtubs, fixtures, and tiles. The first contractor (Bush Drywall) we hired let us down by his shoddy workmanship. We trusted him to provide us the best quality job by taking care of all our needs, while giving us a beautiful finished product that would add to the warm, relaxing environment we were trying to create. Fortunately, we were able to find Matt, the owner of "Living Colors & Painting", to repair the shoddy workmanship of the first contractor. By comparison, we spent about the same amount ($6,900) to repair the bathrooms. However, the quality and professional service we received from "Living Colors & Painting" exceeded our expectations. And what is more, by observing their work compared to the first contractor, we truly learned the difference between a bad and good general contractor. Allow me to add a personal, consumer edict: "He who most deeply understands the customer's needs tends to win and always gets the highest margins. That's why talent and relationships can almost always beat low price - they inspire customer engagement". (The Coming Jobs War by Jim Clifton, 2011) In my opinion, within the economic battlegrounds to gain customer loyalty, those who truly listen to "customers better" and then "deliver what customers wanted" will do better in cultivating long-term customer engagement compared to those predators who focus only on the profit. What is more, those who want to engage their customers beyond the instant receipt of the American dollar must accept the fact that social media has leveled the playing ground for both the consumer and the seller. No business can afford to disregard the power of the mass who efficiently leverage social media. Through the professional service and quality job that "Living Colors & Painting" provided, I would definitely use them again!
