Description of Work: This is a subscription lawn service. There are several levels of service. Virginia Green services lawns without any interaction from the customer. Send them a check and they do the rest. The weed prevention program does not seem to be effective as I have to treat my lawn with additional weed treatments on an annual basis. This adds costs to lawn maintenance above the cost for Virginia Green.

+ 0 moreI found them through Angie’s Lists service. He sprays for weeds and fertilize my yard. I haven’t seen him, but he does a good job and he leaves a flyer on my door to tell me what I need to do, like if need to use the water for the yard between his visits and that sort of information. He calls before he comes to let me know that he is coming, so I don’t cut the grass or anything. His price and quality of work is good and I am seeing results. His punctuality is good and he comes when he says he is coming. I will continue to use him in the future and I will be using him seven more time for this service.

+ 1 moreThey have a prepayment discount of 7% which lowers the annual fee. We like that so we do it each year. We have been very pleased with them. We had a yard that was getting taken over by clovers and now the clovers are completely gone. We have got a nice, green, pretty yard. We think they do a nice job. At the time that I chose them a few years ago, they were very competitive and I don’t think that’s changed.
Description of Work: We have an annual contract with Virginia Green Lawn Care. They have 7 applications that they do. In the fall they do aeration, seeding, and they provide extra seeds for patchwork or spots. They also do regular broad leaf, weed killing, and fertilizing on a regular basis throughout the year. They do tree care and shrubs, but we don’t use that.

Description of Work: Requested regular fertilizer/weed kill service. Came in reasonable time. We have only had 2 treatments so far, and we still have some weed but will continue with them for a few more applications. Received a quote for aeration and fall seeding of $700+ which we did not accept. A neighbor with a small lawn received a comparable quote.

+ -1 moreSo far, so good. This is our first year since switching lawn care companies and our lawn looks very good other than some brown areas due to the extensive hot spells and thirsty oak trees which compete for water.
Description of Work: Virginia Green provides weed control, fungus control and fertilizer treatments on a regular basis; they have two programs, one with feweer treatments and a lesser cost and one with more treatments and a higher cost. They also offer aeration and overseeding, shrub and tree care and ornamental bed weed control. Their monthly newsletter and detailed brochure that they provide with each application explains in detail the purpose of the application and how to care for the lawn immediately after the application. They are a VERY professional company. Cost listed is per treatment but they also offer a less expensive application/program that is comparitive to other lawn care providers.

+ -1 moreThey do an excellent job, and all my neighbors comment on how good my lawn looks. I like to mow and trim my own yard, so I take pride in it and put my own sweat into it. I would not be happy with anything less than great service from VA Green, since I used to do it myself. They are very professional and you always know what services they performed on your yard after they've been there. They provide good information so that you can maintain the lawn after every treatment (example: tips on mowing/watering, identifying stress, etc.).
Description of Work: Perform all lawn fertilization and treatments (weeds, fungus/lawn disease, insect control).

+ -1 moreThey do, in fact, perform the services they promise and the results are generally very good - I am normally quite satisfied. My grass is very lush and thick in the springtime. It fades in the summer and fall, depending on the weather and whether or not we can continue to water or have to stop. Last year, for example (an extremely dry year) some parts of the lawn died out completely. And, occasionally, things happen that they cannot do anything about - such as large patches of Bermuda grass. Overall, however, I find Virginia Green Lawn care to be worth the $73 a month I pay them and the best one of the three such services I have tried at my home in Chester, VA.

+ -1 moreWe started with a horrible yard in a new house. Virginia Green can practically make grass grow anywhere. In less than a year, I had the plushest lawn in the neighborhood by far. No weeds - all grass. They come out periodically throughout the year to treat the lawn. I have been very impressed not only by the results, but by their customer service.

+ -1 moreWe were previously with a different fertilizing company and they did not make a difference like Virginia Green does. Our lawn is small but it looks great. We love what they do and they are great about follow up and pricing too. I would really recommend that others use them.
