+ 3 moreThe carpentry work was excellent. By and large you cannot tell where they replaced boards, even though the original type of boards are no longer manufactured. Excellent craftsmanship there. The painting was also done quite nicely, they did all proper preparation and cleanup, and the house now appears "new" again (it is 21 years old). The estimator showed up when scheduled, and each stage of the work was done when scheduled and on top. The workers were both friendly and professional. The project was completed on time, and was done to our convenience, minimizing disruption to us. I used them several years ago, and am just as pleased with this project as I was with the previous project.
Description of Work: Primary job was painting exterior of house and wrought iron on porch. Some of the siding on the house was deteriorated, and they replaced rotted boards as necessary.

+ 1 moreBoth experiences went well. They showed up on time, were thorough and professional in their handling of the work, and they completed the projects as specified. A supervisor came several times during the crew's sessions to make sure they were progressing correctly and to check their work after they finished. They were efficient in the time they spent working and I was particularly impressed with the way they cleaned up after both sessions. A minor complaint is I do wish they would have had the time to do a little more sanding of the joint compound so the walls were closer to being paint ready. However, considering all they accomplished in the time they were at my house, I understand why they were not able to do that. I hired them after the first work session and I would readily hire them again.
Description of Work: After an original purchase of an Angie's Deal for the services of two men for eight hours from The Carpentry and Painting Experts, I hired them to come back and continue work on my drywall project.

+ 3 moreAfter getting several quotes to paint the exterior of our home, I decided upon The Carpentry & Painting Experts. The weren't the least expensive, but I'm a firm believer in that you get what you pay for. But what did impress me was when Martin came out to give me my estimate, he was on time, neatly & professionally dressed, and completely prepared with a binder of before& after pictures from previous jobs of all sizes, letters of thanks from satisfied customers, testimonials, and their BBB rating. While there he was thorough, even caught some rotting wood that we hadn't noticed. When he was finished, he excused himself to go to his truck & figure out the estimate, and came back with everything broken out clearly and with good detail as I had asked. We ended up using them and couldn't have been more pleased. They were punctual, clean, friendly and cooperative to deal with while on site, and the house looks great.I would definitely recommend them and most certainly use them again myself.
Description of Work: Paint the exterior of our home using 2 coats, and made some carpentry repairs needed to facia boards and part of our screened in porch framing.

+ 1 moreOverall, this company was awesome. The quoted me a price that was 1/2 of their nearest competitors, were punctual, polite and on time. Furthermore they performed some carpentry repairs on a rotted soffit, which they line-itemed for a mere $300 (access to soffit was difficult/high-up IMO). The end job looks great and I have no complaints whatsover and would not hesitate to use them again. That said, I do have a few minor nits: A few days prior to the actual painting, they sent a guy out to pressure wash the house to blast away any easily removed flaking paint, and to apply a anti-mildew/mold solution. The scheduled day for painting was preceded by a bunch of scraping and sanding of paint on all the areas to painted. My minor complaint is that the above actions blasted paint chips all over the place... and while the occasional drop cloth was spread on shrubs/etc I was picking up paint chips out of my yard for some time to come. That said, for the price, I could have paid someone to cleanup the chips and still come out way, way ahead. As mentioned above they also repaired a rotting soffit. I was not present for the repair job and when I returned home, it had been done and looked great. Several months later (maybe 3), however I noticed that the repaired area had started to bulge/warp and prodding it with a telescoping pole from a latter revealed that they had used a thin sheet of pressboard based plywood to affect the repair-- the absolute wrong material to use for an exterior project. I called the company and explained the issue-- they promptly sent someone to investigate/assess and 2 days later it was fixed properly at no additional charge.

I have had some really bad experiences over the years, but I have to say I have FINALLY found someone I can call for just about anything. I have used The Carpentry and Painting Experts about 8 times in the past year or so, and I can tell you that they are awesome! Martin is a pleasure to deal with, and all of the workers are trustworthy and professional. I feel I can leave my house when they are there. Michael does a great job as the supervisor to see that all of the work is done right and to my specifications. They arrive on time, and if they are running a few minutes behind you get a courtesy phone call. Their attention to detail is amazing, and the project is always completed on time and on budget!

+ 4 moreThe estimator (alex) come out and did some measurements and told me he would email me the estimate in a few hours. I recieved the estimate and was ready to schedule the work. I dont recall exact amount or date... its just a guestimate, but a couple of guys came out and were extremely nice and polite. they worked really hard and kept me updated on the status. I had referred them to a few close freinds who were also extremely pleased with the service and price.
Description of Work: I originally contacted to to question subfloor replacement in the kitchen and backdoor. I figured while they are there, we could utliize them to do anything else we needed/ wanted done. We had them replaced the rear door and moulding and rotted subfloor due to water leak through door. Replaced Subfloor under fridge. Painted exterior steps and exterior front door. Also painted inside stairwell.

+ 3 morequoted and not refunded for damages or work not done... Painter was one girl, from Russia and she could not talk to me. Spanish guy did the plaster and he also could not speak to me. Drywall crew is the one who keeps trying to patch and get me to buy his paint. Overall- calling for quotes today to have it torn out and installed as it should be They have not tried to make this job right only to patch what was to be a new wall now is full of patchwork. Covered ax vent! How do you do that and mi update: alex call me or email me. I have some photos I need you to see. I do not want the crew to try to patch up their mess again. This is the worst job I've ever seen, honestly how do you expect me to live with this?
Description of Work: We just brought a home and wanted to remodel the living room. Martin came and gave a quote and showed the proper paperwork. My job was quoted on the spot and I scheduled with the co a week later for them to tear down my family room (paneling) and replace with drywall. Towards the end of the job I left a friend here so someone was in the home for them to finish... please note, Martin told me the job would be complete in 3-4 days, they came and went as pleased. We had vacation plans in Cabo and didn’t think I should cancel due to painters in the home as long as I had someone here. When I returned I found that they covered my vent along with other big mistakes like that: cut my central vac unit, they missed an entire wall, above the curtains the paneling was to be removed lol and it was missed. I was very clear from the start the room needed to be cornered off because we had just got a puppy. Drywall, screws and trash was left not only in family room but everywhere near that room. Entire job it was a mess. The wall they installed was not level, bumps, dents and a beam showed clearly through paint. Paint wrong color and only one application was applied when 2 should of been. We tried dealing with the "head crew installer" Mark and had no luck. Due to the damage they caused they had to patch the whole wall and paint again. Even after I told them that was the incorrect color ( to top off all) he told me I had to buy the paint. Now Let me just be sure I covered everything. They have ruined my family room. Today I left a vm with the main number stating I want my money back: for a contractor to fix my central vac, quoted to reinstall dental block and they did not take off my quote. They have no only taken tons of my time but my family room has been a mess for months now due to no responses. Requesting a manager to come and see just how bad these guys did was close to pulling teeth. I have not received any money back nor did I buy paint. My family room is a weird green and has plaster everywhere, which this is not what I paid for. I paid for them to tear out paneling and install drywall, stain my cabinets and paint our walls. The creases are clear, the beam is still visible and they have not call to follow up and this job is not complete. We at this point want our money back to hire a contractor to install drywall. My family room… ugh want what I paid for.
