CPE did a beautiful job of fixing and painting my house. They gave me an estimate that was around what I expected, and they stuck to it. A few extra things had to be done, but they were done using change orders so I had the final say on what would be done and I agreed on the price. The paint job is just beautiful--I've had the house painted before, but not as nicely as CPE did it. I intend to call them again for any other work I need on the house.

Initial estimate person arrived promptly and was very efficient and professional, although he did miss a few things on the list of jobs, which then had to added later. Carpentry crew was prompt and efficient, painters not so much. Main problem is that there are too many different crews for the various aspects of each job, so communication tends to break down, esp. since each crew speaks a different language. Power wash team was the worst, they didn't seem to know why they were here. 3-4 day job lasted 4 weeks due to weather issues, sick worker, and having to add jobs. But biggest problem is that a door they were supposed to fix STILL LEAKS. It was worked on at least half a dozen times, including by the project manager (this added several days). We finally gave up, and now I just stick towels against the door to soak up the leak when it rains. Swell. I think they would be fine with small, focused projects that have no complications. In general we liked them, but it got nerve wracking in the end and the door still leaks.

My side wooden fence had taken a beating due to age and weather. The lock just didn't work and eventually fell off. An animal of some sort crawled under the front porch and in doing so broke the lattice. I live in a covenant community and needed to have the front porch risers repaired and painted. Representatives of the company suggested that I consider PVC, which would provide longevity, meet the community standards, and eliminate the need for constant painting. I opted for the PVC for the lattice and the risers. I would use this company again and recommend them to others.

The gentleman who came out to do the initial estimate did a very good job, arrived on time, and was thorough in how he explained our needs. The estimate got to us quickly. We had two properties on which we were requesting work. It got a little muddled from there because we sent the deposit and paperwork to get work done on one house, but they applied it to the other house. The office staff fixed it quickly and cheerfully when we pointed out the mistake, and that's great. Mistakes happen, and it's all about remedying them with grace and kindness. Our only issue was with scheduling. My significant other and I both work full-time jobs and tend our kids after work, and because part of the work was indoors, one of us needed to be home. We had estimates done in August but had to delay until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to find a day when one of us would be home when it also worked for the company. We were happy to wait, and they were able to accommodate us on that day, but they couldn't give us a time, or even a time window, of when they would arrive. The person on the phone said we would be notified closer to the date. I expressed that we needed something in the afternoon. Anytime, as long as it was afternoon. They arrived at 8am sharp, a time they had never confirmed and which didn't didn't meet the very broad window of acceptable times I had shared. The work seemed good. No complaints about the upstairs window (yay!), and the kickplate looked awesome, except that some paint got on the siding beside it and wasn't cleaned off. We didn't call back to fuss because that board of siding will need to be replaced anyway, hopefully sometime next year, so it wasn't worth going through the hassle of scheduling a follow-up, but it would have been nice to have had the spot wiped off. I wasn't there when that piece was performed because I wasn't free until afternoon. Had I been there, I would have said something in the moment. Overall, we'd use them again as long as it wasn't for anything time sensitive. They were courteous, kind, and professional and did good work. The only thing they need to work on is creating a scheduling system that allows them to meet with clients at agreed-upon times for work, not just for estimates, even if it's a set-up like Comcast has, where you know they'll be there between 8 and 11 or 1 and 4. (Only do better than Comcast and actually show up.) :)

Everything looks great. My porch floor was a different color and they came out and matched it even though I did not have a sample or any idea where I got the paint. They also were careful and avoided any drips on my neighbors property and even covered his motorcycle to avoid mishaps. Very professional and always there when they said they would be. Definitely would use them again. Also, price was pretty much the lowest of three I received, and they had the best reviews of all three.

Scheduled to have leaking window repaired on October 12th, with no specific time window given. Called the company at 10am asking if they can give me an idea when they might show up. Told I was next job- probably around 12pm. OK...hours pass...at 3pm I call them back and ask what the deal is. They tell me the previous job ran late, they will have the project manager call me. I am assured they are almost done and will certainly be there within the next 30-45 minutes, they promise to call if anything changes. At 5pm nobody has shown up...I call the company and tell them not to bother. Bottom line: they have no respect for your time. The day was wasted, and let's be honest, we are all too busy these days to spend an entire day waiting around for someone to show up. This company lacks in professionalism and customer service.

This company is extremely professional and excellent at customer service. Our house looks wonderful and the crew was punctual, polite, and professional.

Very professional business. Very detailed and immediate estimate. All individuals were very personable and a pleasure to work with! Finished work by agreed to deadline and went above and beyond to do so. Highly recommend this business and would definitely use them in the future!

This is a good company to work with. Mike, the estimator, was punctual and thorough. He was quick and responsive with questions and clarifications. His estimate was close to, but less than, the others I had received. Scheduling was easy, they were ready to start nearly immediately, and once working, the whole job took less than a week. Tim, the project manager, was on site every day, and seems to run a tight ship. Bottom line, the house looks great, it was priced fairly, and I'm very happy with their work.

They did an adequate job. I feel that I wasn't as thorough with what I requested as what I should have been. I don't feel like it was their fault and they fixed exactly what I told them to do. I should have said to go through the entire wood on the front and check everything. Overall they did a good job.

The first team, made up of Drew, cleaned gutters and power washed, painted ceiling and pre-treated the spot to make certain there was adequate coverage with the paint; a second team, led by Randy, spent a whole Saturday from early morning until dark to do the exterior painting. They were unable to finish and returned the following Monday to finish up. They provided top grade Sherwin Williams paint for the painting needs. David came out to replace some shingles that had loosened in a storm and caused the water leak in the den. As the painters were finishing up, they noted that there were oil stains from their truck on the aggregate driveway. They made 3 trips to try to remove the stains and would not invoice us until we were completely satisfied with their efforts. We were given a 15% discount from being on Angie's List. Martin Borisov came out promptly when asked to provide an estimate. I was very pleased with the estimate - it was much lower than I expected for the difficulty of especially painting the railing around the front porch and deck. They were all very professional and responsive and all obviously took a great deal of pride in their work. They cleaned up from everything they did and were very pleasant and personable in all our interactions. I would definitely use them again and plan to in the spring with more painting. I just wish they did landscaping work and anything else I need done on my home! They are a terrific company and anxious to make their customers happy. What really impressed me is that they would not invoice me until weeks after they made the driveway look like it did before they got here. There was not one word of protestation that they caused the stains - which, in itself, is unusual. Give this company a chance to bid on any work you have and I would be happy to give anyone a reference for them.

They used quality Sherwin Williams paint and provided all needed in price. The interior painting, power washing and gutter cleaning was done by one person (Drew), who was punctual, professional and personable. Everything was left as it was before he came and he was extremely conscientious about doing the job right with as little interference as possible. The exterior painting was led by Randy and a team of three, and they all worked on a Saturday from early in the morning until dark and added small jobs they noted needed to be done, always explaining the need. They came back on the next Monday, finished up and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves - they all were extremely professional, hard working and pleasant with whom to work. David did the minor roof repairs and matched the work ethic of all the others I came in contact with. In giving me the estimate, Martin was very professional and thorough and pricing was much lower than expected for the difficulty and amount of work to be done. We had one small problem and that was a truck that leaked some oil on the aggregate driveway. They did not quibble about it and made two trips out to clean the stains - they did not invoice until we were completely satisfied. The only extremely minor complaint I would have is that the Scheduler, Tim, was not terribly good at letting me know what time people would be coming, though he promised always to do so. That is the only improvement I could possibly suggest for this superior company which we will definitely use again. I am already planning what I want done. It also helps that Angie's List clients get a 15% discount on painting work. Extremely happy customers!

Prompt and easy estimate. On time for the work that was scheduled, and performed the work as estimated. Very professional. The repairs to the sill and fascia boards replaced wood with PVC. Exceeded my expectations. Painting was done well, with very little splash or paint transfer. Better job than I would have been able to do. Be detailed in what services you expect to receive, and the estimate will reflect that. They will do exactly what the estimate says, and do good work. I did not get specific on a couple items that I wished to be painted, and that was my fault. Overall, a very good experience and I would use them again.

I called The Carpentry and Painting Experts, LLC to receive a quote to have my exterior fence cleaned and re stained. Martin came out on 9/26/14 to give me a quote, and being pleased with the quote I received, I wrote a deposit check for $375. This check was chased and processed on 9/29/14. As the 1st week went by, I called Wednesday to speak with Martin, and he was unable to give me a copy of the contract. I have no printer, and they tried to send it to my daughters work, twice, and she did not receive it. The second week went by and I still had not received the contract. When I called the company 10/6/14, I informed them that I would like for Martin to come out and bring the contract when he performs the work. At this time, miraculously, my daughter received a copy of the contract, which she signed and indicated the exact work that we wanted done, and proceeded to send it back to them. After this, I called them on the 7th to make sure they received the signed contract. When I asked them when the appointment would be scheduled, they stated that Martin was the only one that could schedule and inform me when that time would come. I called them on the 10th again because I hadn't heard anything, I spoke with Jessica who said she would send an email to Martin to have him get in touch with me. I still did not receive word through the weekend, and so I called the office on 10/13/14, and after being asked if I would rather have Martin's email or phone contact information, I stated that I just wanted my money back due to the lack of professionalism and responsiveness on the behalf of Martin and the company. At this time, I'm still waiting to hear whether I will receive my payment back. I will be calling the company tomorrow morning to further proceed. ** UPDATE: I spoke to the office and Martin (the sales rep), and I explained what my problem was. He took sole responsibility of the situation and lack of communication. He then rectified my issues with a $200 credit off the balance. He also informed me that they would do the kitchen tomorrow morning and would take care of the fence as well. He will be personally supervising my projects. ** UPDATE: They came Monday the 20th with four men in order to finish my project. They started painting my back fence and completed satisfactorily. This required 17 gallons of stain and took them the better part of the day. They were professional, courteous and not sloppy by any means. They were gone when the job was finished. I am extremely pleased with Angie's List.

A gentleman came to do the estimate and provide a cost for the work. That same day I agreed to the estimate, signed the contract of which he took both copies and I have never received a copy of the work to be done. I had to contact them to find out when the work would be done. The power=washing occurred and that was done well. The carpentry guys arrived and did their work - very well done. There were some other parts that I should have gotten repaired - but overall looked fine. The staining guys arrived this past Friday and I was not aware they would be coming. They had left a msg on my cell during the morning which I had not had an opportunity to pick up. So they arrived on a day I was fully booked with my work (conference calls, etc.) I was surprised they were here. I'm disappointed that I did not get to choose the color of my deck. The young man I guess in charge rang the doorbell and asked me to look at what they were putting on..They had done one side and were working on the railings. It was a honey gold looking stain that I thought was a clear stain ...my ignorance...and he asked if he should continue so I said yes. I don't like the color of it because it it too light for the older boards...it looks dis-colored...like old/new wood. I had to rush back to my conf calls. If I had it to do over I would have liked for someone to come out and review the work and make sure it all was too my satisfaction. I certainly will honor my side of the deal and pay the amount but I will not use this company again...Some of my neighbors have come over to see what was done and they all ask why the deck color is so far off from the color of the house..or it doesn't blend in..I can't disagree...I usually schedule work when I have time to check on it during the day but this time I was completely tied up. Like I said I had some other minor repairs that need to be made but I will choose another company in the future. Thank you for the opportunity. I still do not have a copy of the contract so I guess I will receive it when they send the bill for the remaining amount. ********************************************** Updating 9/19/14 Mr. Tim Timchev contacted me from the company and he is trying to work with me to attain some satisfaction. He has been very helpful and offered additional information that I did not know at first. We are working on an amiable solution. I will update this entry again after we finish our work. If you use this company ask for him. He is the best to work with.

Had an appointment with this vendor on 8/22 at 8am to get an estimate for interior paiting. Vendor did not show up for appointment and did not call until 2pm that afternoon to let me know they had a scheduling conflict that morning. Decided to give them a second chance and set up an appointment for 9am on 8/30. Vendor called at 9:20 to say he would be at my house in about 20 minutes, thus making his arrival at 9:40, which was 40 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Told vendor that this was completely unacceptable and that there was no need for him to come as I was no longer interested in doing business with them. If you value your time, I would not recommend this contractor as they have wasted much of mine.

We thought the estimator had a good understanding of what we wanted, but after the job was started we were told there would be additional charges. That seemed a little excessive, but we had no choice at that point. We did deduct the 15% Angie's List discount and that was questioned. All that aside, however, the workmen did an excellent job. The carpentry was first class as was the painting. We are very pleased with the final result and would hire them again.

They did a great job. Slight mix up in what materials I needed to.

They took a list of everything that I wanted done and he said he was gonna email me the list.

I received an excellent value from this company for services rendered, and found them fairly easy to work with overall. Although I started off skeptical, I ended up impressed. Skeptical because the base price came in well under competitors, and I had not heard of them before, yet they had dozens (hundreds?) of glowing testimonials going back many years. The price did grow with additional carpentry work from the original estimate, but some of it could not be discovered until ladders were put on the house (that is to be expected). Still, the additional work was reasonably priced and I approved each estimate in advance. The business model here is efficiency. Unlike many other crews I have worked with, these guys quietly hustled. They showed up, unloaded their equipment, did their jobs well and efficiently, and then moved on. These were not the types to stand around telling each other long stories and scratching their bellies and taking breaks... these guys worked. There were different crews on different days, but 4 guys stayed connected with my job all the way through. I did not feel at any time that they rushed or cut corners. Their supervisor Tim tries very hard to communicate work schedules and next steps to customers so that no one is left wondering if someone will show up. He did a good job staying in touch consistently - even though I got a phone call on Easter morning about the upcoming week of work, but he did wish me a Happy Easter! He was professional and courteous all through the job. The crews worked neatly and cleanly, and I was pleased that they vacuumed up paint chips and hosed off my patio each day. My only suggestion for improvement is for the company to either include in its price, or give an optional fee for post-painting -- unsticking windows and glass cleaning. I had to unstick almost every window from the outside, needing to put a tall ladder up to get this done on the second story. I would be willing to pay for this next time. I am not complaining, because I still feel that I received an excellent value. My house looks fantastic - they did a great job and I would highly recommend this firm.

If I had to do it again, I would have spent more time with the estimator about the deck repairs, it looks fine and they did a good job, but I probably should have replaced the entire thing instead of trying to salvage what was there. I was very happy with their work, would definitely use them again.

This provider had a contract but, it was not a detailed contract. The items to be repaired were not listed on the contract. There was only verbal discussion about the work to be done. The contract did not provide ample recourse to the customer in case of problems with the workmanship.
