It's a shame they are one of the top builders because their work is shoddy and once you're an owner they don't care. Large sections of siding started falling off less than a year into our new construction. We had a home inspection before our warranty ended and there were 14 items that needed fixing due to lack of care (one of which was an ungrounded electrical connection in our crawl space). They have a "customer service" line for post care and they are useless. Caleb and the team are not there to help. They just shove you off to their subcontractors without any additional information or context. I hope I never have to buy another Ryan Home again. I have been trying to get someone to calle back for over a week!
Description of Work: I tried to submit a warranty claim for oven not correctly attached to anti-tip bracket. It is uneven, wobbly and negatively affects daily cooking

I am not sure if due to the lax building code or what else, but the quality of our townhouse was just lousy. Ryan Homes was more concerned with their production log and delivering the house on time vs. building a good quality home. When we first moved in, our jaccuzzi was not working, water heater was leaking, microwave door had scratches and indents, floor was creaking everywhere upstairs in the carpeted areas (and thats before the house started to settle). A year later, we had 84 nail pops (the record for our community as Ryan Homes handyman told us), which were only spackled and we had to repaint ceilings and walls ourselves. Walls has cracks in them due to settling and we had to repair ourselves. Hardwood floor started to come off and the Ryan Homes floor man had to come and glue it down. The creaking floor upstairs was "fixed" only to start creaking in different areas again. Fireplace was poorly insulated and was literally leaking cold air like crazy increasing our heating bills. The back door and the back porch construction was poor so the water was collecting underneath. This we found out after living there for three years and after our hardwood floor near the back door started to get the water damaged look. The dishwasher broke after 3 years and GM gave us a $300 credit toward a new appliance (Ryan Homes refused to do anything). Finally, and to add to the list, the air conditioner broke after 3.5 years and resulted in another $600 expense. Going through all this, I will personally never buy Ryan Homes pre-fabricated houses. To me, they are all about the superficial looks and the "wow" factor without the real quality. However, I do know plenty of people who have been satisfied with Ryan Homes.
Description of Work: We bought the townhouse that was built in New Kent by Ryan Homes in 2008.

They were the builder. I think everything was done in a timely manner and they did an acceptable job overall. I didn?t care for making sure that the details were taken care of because there were some glitches here and there.
Description of Work: Ryan Homes did the inspection on my new home.
