I chose Professional Home Services after reading the reviews on Angie's List and meeting Mike Gundersen at my house. Mike and his crew are true professionals who do what they say they're going to do and in the timeline promised. The quality of work was top-notch and I would definitely use Professional Home Services again.

As a first time "Angie's List user", we contacted three companies to make appointments. Out of those three, Professional Home Services was the only one who responded within the time-limit set by them. Mike was on time for the initial meeting and provided us with a very detailed estimate for all the items we wanted done. He went out of his way to meet with our daughter later on in the day to help both, my wife and my daughter, to finalize everything. We where so impressed with him and his professionalism that we decided not to call anyone else for estimates. The gutters and down-spouts where installed even ahead of the starting time. Mike was there to check on every detail of the installation and needless to say, we where extremely pleased with the outcome.The siding was installed the following day and again, like on the first day, Mike was there to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. The windows came in the following week and every phase of removing the old windows and installing the new ones was controlled by Mike. The final item for that day was the installation of a new storm door, What we first envisioned to be a tedious and messy process turned out to be a truly professional job. After every phase of the remodeling, everything was cleaned up and nobody left without making sure that we where happy with the results for that days work.Once you meet and get to know a truly professional like Mike, you want to make sure you don't loose him. That was our reason for asking him to put us on his calendar for next year to replace our roof. We would, without hesitation, recommend him to anyone.

Mike came out and looked at our job, and we both liked him. I was hoping he'd do our work, but due to an email problem we didn't get his estimate in time to get it to our mortgage company so we chose someone else.

Mike is a great guy to deal with. He called me the a couple days prior to let me know of the start date, then a day prior to reaffirm the start time. His crew, two guys as well as Mike came at the time we discussed. The two gentlemen were pleasant and respectful and worked diligently. Mike had another arrangement, but returned to make sure all the work was completed properly. I have a 17 month old and asked them if they could start in her room first so I could put her down for a nap after they completed. They complied and they mentioned that they did not want to caulk in that room until she was up because they didn't want her to sleep with the fumes from the caulk. That is going above just getting the job done. They finished the entire house in about 6 hours. Mike walked around with me making sure everything was okay. He spotted one window that was not to his standards and his guys fixed all the issue.

Although he ran late due to an earlier appointment, he alerted me early on that there was a challenge and I was able to adjust my schedule accordingly. The only real issue was that he has a kind kind of "minimum" number of windows he needs to do in order to justify sending out a crew. That's a bummer, because I only have the one window that I need replaced right away. However, I respect that he has a certain way he must run his business and if this particular job isn't a good fit for his company, then that's the way it is - it's just the business reality. So while i may not go with him to replace this one window, you can bet that if I'm ever replacing MULTIPLE windows, he will be the first person that I call.

I met with Mike Gundersen to get an estimate on replacement windows for my house. Mike spent time with me going over the features of his product and was very helpful answering all the questions I had. Mike was in contact with me several times before, during, and after the installation of the windows so I always knew what was going on. The installation crew did an excellent job with the windows and making sure the house was clean after they were finished. Mike even had his crew take care of a few other things at my property while they were there. I was thoroughly impressed with the quailty of the product, workmanship, and customer service. I would definitely use this company again and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

This review is overdue as we had this work completed in the fall and I don't remember the cost of the job. The work completed was fairly priced, completed in a timely manner and of very high quality. The owner and workers who completed the job were all friendly and professional. Along with the replacement of our gutters and some areas of rotten trim, one of the columns on my front porch was rotten and needed to be replaced. The columns have some detail in the design and I was amazed at how the carpenter who completed the work simply took a piece of wood and turned it into an identical replacement as if it was easy. My husband and I highly recommend this company, our experience was excellent.

If you don't read anything else, the most important thing you should know is from top to bottom these are good people who work on your home as if it was their own- what else can you ask for?! I called to request an estimate and much to my surprise I spoke directly with Michael Gunderson, the owner. He was quite pleasant, professional and engaging (not the creepy salesman type had come out when we had estimates from three other companies). Mike came out and did the estimate the very next day! He was knowledgeable, thorough, professional, polite and punctual. It was a no-pressure, straight forward meeting that didn't take forever. The actual estimate process took about 40 minutes and after we had made the decision to use his company, Mike measured the windows and was gone within an hour and a half. It was so refreshing after suffering through three other estimates that had dog and pony shows as well as rude salesmen that didn't get the hint- we just wanted a price, not a half day seminar on windows! The installation process went smoothly. The men that work for Mike are pleasant, professional and punctual- no subcontractors, these guys are Mike's employees. They too were polite and took extra care to clean-up after the job. Mike came out at least twice during the day to check on how the installation was progressing- it was refreshing to have someone really take pride in their work! The workmen even took care of some minor siding issues at no extra cost- actually, we wouldn't even have known there was a problem but they took the initiative to let us know and then handled it. I can's say enough good things about this company! About the windows- it's only been four days and we can tell the difference. The windows have cut down on outside noise and the drafts we felt with our old windows are gone! We love our new windows!! We plan to use Professional Home Services again to add a deck to our home.

They were very professional and accommodating. I paid them through insurance. I would use them again if needed.

I called Mike to get a quote, as he had been my contact for a previous job for me at another location. He scheduled a time to come out to look at the columns on Thursday. He did not come and called later in the day to say he would be by the next day instead. He did not come again and has not been in contact. I am back to square one on finding someone to do this work. In the mean time, my front porch is a wreck. Update 3/7: Mike left a voicemail saying he's sorry he didn't get by my house, he has a lot of jobs going on, and that the review on Angie's List was unnecessary. I've already booked another busy contractor who made time for me over the weekend to come look at the issue. I'm bumping the rating I gave up from an F to a D, because an attempt was made to contact me, even though it was after the fact.

They were wonderful to work with. Mike was a great guy to work with. He was able to help me with issues that were not related to the roof. He was great! I would recommend to anyone. I did extra work for me and didn't even charge me. Great guy!

Wall inside the house showed signs of water leaks. Mr. Gunderson came out, inspected the roof above the leak, and said it was due to a faulty cap on the roof. Had a cap in his truck and repaired it right away. He was cordial and professional. Arrived promptly at the scheduled time.

One of the fears a homeowner has is trying to find a contractor who will deal with you professionally and fairly. Add to that fear a costly repair and fear can turn to panic. Enter Mike Gundersen and the folks at Professional Home Services to alleviate those fears. From the first meeting to the completion of the work, Mike and his crew treated us professionally, fairly and courteously. He was the first person we met with and he patiently explained our options for replacement windows. There is absolutely no hard pressure sales at all with Mike. In fact, I truly felt like he really cared about our business and wanted us to be extremely happy with the work he would do for us. One of the things that really impressed me about Mike and team was that when we were looking at the windows and repairs to be done, we saw several other things like a soffit out of place or a badly chipped dormer that Mike said he would have his guys fix - AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!. Unlike other vendors, he followed through on his promises during the work and all told they probably did another $200-300 worth of fix up during the window replacement. It was such a nice feeling to have some one not "nickel and dime" us through this major repair. As I mentioned before, he truly does care about the homeowner and totally stands behind his work. An absolute pleasure to work with his company! The windows were ordered and the repair started within the 2 week window promised by Mike. We had some weather issues but the crew completed the work as soon as it was possible. Ed and Doug were the guys doing the work and are hardworking, courteous professionals who do high quality work. I was so impressed with the way they worked heads down in getting these 25 windows replaced and other extras in only 2 days. Again, this was as promised by Mike. In the end, we are extremely pleased with the work completed and recommend without hesitation Professional Home Services. You will not regret working with Mike and his high quality, caring team. One less thing to worry about if we need additional contractor services again.

He did exactly what was quoted, and did a good job. I brought up the internet coupon for 10% after he quoted me and he said he had given me a good price already, so I didn't insist. Instead, I asked about getting a few extras done and he had agreed to them. None of the extras got done, but the work he had quoted me for was otherwise great. He did discount me $100 off for not being able to replace the broken blinds on the sliding door he replaced. It took longer than expected to get the windows and door in, but he communicated this and it was not an issue.

The salesperson came to my house and gave an estimate on the spot for replacement windows. He said he would email me an estimate for fencing. I never recieved the estimate for the fencing. Since I did not hear back from Professional Home Services I got another company to install my fence and yet another company to install windows. I spoke to my nieghbor who had windows installed by Professional Home Services and she did not like their service. They did not return her calls when there was a problem with the windows. I am so glad they did not get back to me, it took them out of consideration for any job.

I thought they were great. I really liked them a lot. I really liked Mike; he came out and talked to me about the installation of my windows. They came out a couple of days after I was trying to get them scheduled. They did a great job. They were clean and did a very professional job. When they were doing the inspection they found that one of the pipes needed to be changed. They actually came up the next day and replaced for me while I was at work. After they did the job they called me like more than one time to make sure that I was satisfied with what they had done, did they do a good job or whether I was happy with it. They called me a couple of times and they personally answered the phone when I called them. I can't speak highly enough about these people. I'm planning to use them again to install more windows.

Inspection and maintenance of house roof done efficiently by his crew. Mike was very good at answering questions and pointing out the conditions they found during the inspection. I also requested inspection of the detached garage roof which had some damaged shingles. Mike replaced these with matching shingles he had on hand at a very reasonable price ($130.00). We had them give us a estimate to replace gutters and downspouts. The estimate compared favorably with an earlier one from another company which is also rated highly on Angies list. We went with Mike's company. The new gutters and downspouts look and work great. The work was done efficiently and very professionally. Mike is very concerned with customer satisfaction and called back to see if we had any questions the same day and again a few days later. He gave us an estimate for replacing the garage roof, which we will consider in the near future. They do great work and we would certainly use them again.

Rae was wonderful to work with. She provided a quote within one business day for the work and was able to reach out to her vendor (that supplies the glass/windows) to get the large oversized double paned windows made with tempered glass and delivered to her within 9 days so that they could install on the 10th day. WOW! We were under tight deadlines due to working with a buyer on our house and a relocation company and she excelled in her service and timeliness, especially since most other contractors were giving me a 3-4 week timeframe to complete the job. This is a fabulous company to work with. Thank-you!

Mike Gunderson has been a complete professional from the beginning. He had a bit of trouble getting to us, but ultimately came out on Thanksgiving to look at the property and sent me a proposal that day. He was careful to ask if I had purchased the coupons from Angie's List so I wouldn't miss the discount. As soon as I signed the contract, the materials were ordered, and as soon as they were received, he and his men were there replacing the windows, storm door, then the gutters and guards. It took only about 1-1/2 days, and everything was left cleaner than when he got there. For the roof, he provided samples of shingles, different styles and colors, and made suggestions for what would be the best selection. When a problem arose with the chimney, he contacted me immediately and provided options for solutions, then made the repair. The roof is beautiful! He didn't stop there. A new lock was needed on the door, and he provided and installed it. Anything he saw that needed a bit of touch-up or repair, he did. When my physically handicapped son needed help with some things, he provided it. This little '50s ranch house looks worlds better. I will have him replace the siding in the spring, and I'm confident it will again be a terrific job! Mike does not usually do interior work, but this house needed a lot of relatively simple repair and replacement, and since I don't live in the area, he was eager to help, and he diligently worked through the list to get each item finished. Through it all, Mike has communicated as far as status, what's needed, asking my input, and making suggestions. What was an anxiety producing event became much easier to manage. Overall, Professional Home Services--Mike Gunderson--is everything you could ask for in a contractor, and he's a really nice guy.

I was impressed with Mike Gunderson when he came to give me an estimate. He was running a little late and called to let me know this and asked if it was still okay to come a little later. He was professional and very personable. He gave me an estimate which was a little higher than others but he explained exactly what would be done and answered any questions that I had. I was impressed with his presentation and decided to hire him for the job. The windows were ordered promptly and was installed within two weeks of me signing the contract. This was great because other companies had given me a 4-6 week time span before the window could be installed. I had to work the day of installation and I had a friend come over. They were a little late arriving but my friend was very impressed with the efficient way the job was done in an acceptable time frame. It took only 5-6 hours for the installation. They did a great job and cleaned up so that you would have never known the windows had been installed that day. When I drove up after work, I loved the windows and how they made my house look so much better. I still smile very time I drive up to the house. I had been planning to install windows for years and I am glad I hired Professional Home Services. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a company to install windows. I have been thinking of a deck and they would be the first company I would call if I do decide to have one built.

I found them off Angie's List and they had a lot of positive reviews. The guy came out to give me an estimate and he was extremely professional and low pressure. He had a better quality product than the other guys I had looked at as well as a lower price. Not only did he do a really good job but he did extra work that was not even part of the agreement. I will use this company again in the future.

Mike Gunderson is great to work with! For our first big home improvement project we took out 5 estimates and researched contractors on Angie's List. The contractors were all very accommodating and gave us comparable quotes. However, I thought from the research here that Mike was the best reviewed and would give us the smoothest experience. I was not disappointed! Although the process was not completely snag-free, it was an easy and positive one. The crew came up and put up the roof, installed the new vents and repaired some damaged wood in one day. Soon the gutter crew was here and installed new gutters and gutter guards. My husband especially was pleased not to have the gutter cleaned any more. By the end of the project, Mike felt like one of the family. On a side note, I was building a loft bed for my daughter that same week and was visiting Home Depot every day. I got to know about half a dozen men and women there pretty well over that week. When they asked me about any future building projects, I replied that I just had a new roof and gutters put on and I spent all my money on that. They asked me who did the work, and were recommending that I should have used their service instead. When I mentioned Professional Home Services, they knew Mike by name and told me that I picked a good guy. I'm happy to add to his good reputation.

On Wednesday, 16 November, I discovered that my roof was leaking into my attic and onto the ceiling of my bedroom. My family and I were planning on leaving town for a week, so I needed to get this repaired immediately before leaving. So, on Thursday, I called a company that had done some work for me previously and they told me that they were booked for 4 months out and just didn't have any people available. So, next, I called Professional Home Services. Mike answered and told me that he was busy also, but would see what he could do to help me out. It turned out that he was doing some work in my area on Friday and at the end of the day was able to come by and check out my problem. He found the problem and repaired it in about 30 minutes. I appreciated the way Mike followed through after telling me he'd try to fit me in. He called as soon as he knew he could make it to my place and he was very polite and courteous in working with my wife who was at the house. Then, he called me at my office around 5:30 or 6 PM to explain what he had found, how he had fixed it, and the probable cause of the leak. He also told me that there would be no charge for the service. He insisted that it was a fairly simple repair and that he wouldn't take any payment for the service. Obviously, I was appreciative and impressed. I will gladly use Professional Home Services in the future.

Working with Mike was refreshing - he was both super responsive to our many questions throughout the process and just a real honest and comfortable guy to work with. His employees were hard working, focused, & they got the job done in a really efficient manner. Mike frequently came around to check on the work and was quite attentive to finding any issues before we even noticed them. We could not have been happier with the quality of the results or our interaction with this company. Professional Home Services really lives up to it's name - Mike and his crew are simply true professionals and I would not hesitate to call on him again for home improvement work.
