Mike was professional, polite and punctual. His employees were respectful and efficient. The windows have improved the appearance of the house, and are all he said they would be. Mike was patient and friendly with our rambunctious dog. He came to the house to check on the work being done and made a follow up call to ensure we were satisfied. We were. We intend to hire Mike again for future work, including a new roof.

Mike showed me the options on materials and I decided to go with Elk 30 yr. architecture shingles. Mike always makes sure that you understand everything that will be done and when. If he finds problems as he goes, he will point them out to you. He is very thorough. The crew worked hard and finished the job in a few days. The roof, gutters and additional carpentry look great! Since then, I have called Mike back to help me with other issues. I have always found him to be immediately responsive and knowledgeable in assisting me. If you are looking for a company and an owner who is skilled, reasonably priced, quick to respond and does great work, then you need to call Michael Gunderson at Professional Home Services. I'm glad I did!

The windows and door are beautiful and the men did a great job of installing them. They also did a very good job of cleaning up and Mike gave me all of the paperwork I need to apply for my energy star rebate. I plan to use Mike again this fall to replace some additional windows.

Unbelievable. I have never had an experience like this with a contractor and I have had other great contractors, some from Angie's List. But these people were EXCEPTIONAL. Mike came in for the estimate and was very professional, explaining everything in terms that were easy to understand. The price was great considering the quality of the product and everything that was going to be done. Mike kept in touch with me between the estimate and the work, making sure that I understood when they would be coming and what to expect. They came as promised, right on time. They worked hard and long, in spite of record high temperatures. They were always friendly and respectful. They got along with our bratty dog. I only made two small suggestions during the job, and they immediately implemented them, with a smile and no resentment whatsoever. The goal was to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work. They completed the job very quickly and left a perfectly clean work area. They paid attention to details, like re-hanging our window coverings perfectly. One of the screens came with a defect and they re-screened in overnight and had it hung before the job was even finished. 22 new, beautiful, energy efficient windows, perfectly trimmed, in a day and a half. Wow!! Why would anyone want to buy windows anywhere else.

I found Professional Home Services from their reviews on Angie's List. Our needs were fairly simple: we have a leak in our sunroom that appears to be caused by our roof and siding. We were also interested in having some deck repair work done. Mike arrived on time & was very knowledgeable, showing us what needed to be done to fix our issues. What he did not appear to be interested in doing, was fixing them himself. We finally agreed that they would repair the caulking on our siding and add a diverter and some flashing on the roof to keep the water out of the sunroom. Mike said that he would send a crew out the next week. They never came. After the next week, I called Mike & he indicated that they were very busy, but that he would send a crew the following week. Again, a crew never showed up. Mike was nice, but this was very frustrating. We will look for another contractor to do the work.

The process went exactly as Mike Gundersen described. The windows were ordered and came in when they said they would, the installation crew arrived on time, and completed the work as planned. They matched the trim on the windows almost exactly with the shutters that were on the front of the house. Mike went out of his way to find a caulk that matched the metal wrapping on the windows. I was really pleased with the complete professionalism and responsiveness of everyone who was involved in the job as well as the quality of the work they did. I work from home, and they really minimized the disruption and distractions while they worked. The work crew was very friendly, polite, and respectfull the entire time. I would recommend them highly to anyone looking for window replacement, siding, roofing, porch enclosures and custom trim.

I ask this company to do estimate on what it would cost to do a repair some sidings that came lose on my house. The owner repair my siding on site without any charge to me. I was very please that they were able to provide this service for me. They were prompt and very courteous and I was very pleased with their work. I would recommend this company to a friend and I would use them again.

Mike came out promptly and provided a detailed estimate broken down per item for the work we requested as well as some additional work we are planning for the future. This made it easier for us to budget the various parts of the job if we needed to. No high pressure sales which we appreciated. He and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would, were neat and polite. The new window was installed quickly and caulked to minimize heat loss. The owner (Mike) was present on the job site at all times. He explained in detail the work that he and his crew were doing on the installation and the work they would be doing on the second floor. Took the time to show us the features of the new window and how it worked for cleaning etc. Explained in detail how the trim casing was custom fitted and made on site. His crew repaired and replaced the damaged trim on the second floor window, encased and caulked it. The window trim looks like a new window and is completely sealed to prevent and further water damage. Site was cleaned up afterwards. Mike was respectful and pleasant and sensitive to our time frame (installed during my lunch hour). All in all this was a good experience with Pro Home Services and we would use them again.

Mr. Gundersen was polite and prompt to come out and give us an estimate. However, after we agreed to his estimate/contract he did not show up to caulk the window as he promised to. I called three days in a row and each day he promised he would be out to caulk the window the following day, only to not show. All the while water was coming in our home due to evening storms. He finally came out to caulk the window approx 4 days after he initially promised. He told us that he would try to get the window company to rush the order to have it completed prior to the Thanksgiving holiday and he said that he would call the next day to let us know if that was possible. We didn't receive a call. I called and he said that the window company said they would try. Otherwise, it would be another week or so, but that he would call. The day he said the window would be in came and went with no phone call. I gave him a couple days and finally called to get an update. When we spoke he said he could come out next week in the evening to do the work, so I wouldn't have to miss any work, which was very convenient. He showed up on-time to do the work and he and his assistant were done within about an hour. Evidently there was some trouble installing the window and they ended up carving out some of the decorative moulding above my window. I noticed as he was wrapping up that he was re-installing my shade even though the caulk was not yet dry. I told him that could wait but he said it would be fine. After he left my husband was inspecting the work and noticed that the shade was smearing the wet caulk so we removed the shade. This is when we saw what had been done to the decorative moulding. We called him back that evening and told him we weren't pleased with the worksmanship and he agreed to come back out, replace the moulding and recaulk everything. When he and his assistant came back the next day, Mr. Gundersen took time to make sure the work was done completely to our satisfaction and was very apologetic, even taking $100 off the final price for us. While I appreciate his dedication to customer service I would not use his services again due to a lack of follow up and the fact that I felt he rushed the work the first time around.

Because we are in a log cabin, we wanted wood frames for the windows. This narrowed our options considerably and increased the cost, but Mike (Professional Home Services' owner) did the research to find exactly what we wanted. He gave me the cost and time quote and delivered on all that was promised. Mike was very professional, yet personal to deal with. He always responded promptly to my calls & on the one or two occasions when there was a slight delay in arrival time, he called in advance to let me know they would be arriving a little later. My best experience yet with a contractor for any type of work.

We obtained estimates from four companies for a significant home improvement project. We selected the estimate from Mike Gundersen, owner of Professional Home Services. We were impressed with Mike from the first time we met and discussed our project. He was knowledgeable, polite, professional, and eager to please. Mike delivered on his promises and our own high expectations. We were impressed by the craftsmanship, expertise, and courtesy of the workmen. They worked hard and remained on task. Mike frequently visited to check on the progress of the project and ensured a quality job. We highly recommend this outstanding company for siding, window replacement, and installation of columns and railings. (PHS also installs decks, replaces roofs, etc.) We would not hesitate to employ Professional Home Services on future projects.

Mike Gunderson (owner) and his siding/trim and roofing crews were outstanding in all respects. Mike was a pleasure to work with, answered all our questions, kept us informed about progress, and followed up to make sure everything was satisfactory. I had Mike give an estimate for repairing/replacing/covering all trim on the house and adding gutters. He explained everything to us about the process and provided a detailed estimate. The trim work took about 2 days and the gutters 1 day. Mike came by at the end of each day to check on progress, went over any questions we had, and made sure we were satisfied in all respects. Mike fixed/cleaned several things while he was there without charge -- this attention to detail and desire to make everything look good was what impressed me the most. After the trim work was done, Mike told us about some issues his crew had noticed on the roof (and provided digital photos). We had asked him to replace some flashing around skylights and look at the roof while they were doing the other work. We asked for an estimate for repairs ($800) and for a new roof ($5200), which Mike provided promptly. I decided to go with the new roof, given the old one was 25 years old. The roofing took about 2 1/2 days, and looks fantastic. The crew cleaned up before they left each day and there was no debris anywhere when the job was complete. Again, Mike checked in every day and made sure we were satisfied. I would not hesitate to call Mike again for my next home improvement project. He and his crews delivered a quality product in a very professional and friendly manner.

Mike and his crew did a great job. I got 3 estimates and Mike's was the best price. I liked the fact that it is a small company and I was in constant communication with the owner (Mike) as opposed to salesmen, etc. Mike was patient, detail oriented and available. After the majority of the work was done, Mike came over himself for several hours on a Saturday to clean up and finish detail work that even I had not seen. He was also willing to do a few little "extras" like replace flood lights, put blinds back up, etc. I was very happy with the company and would definitely hire them again.

We checked out 7 contractors in all and chose Professional Home Services, Mike did exactly what he said he would do and explained everything in plain English. He gave us options and different ideas that we hadn't thought of, and by that, I don't mean extras that we didn't need. He pointed out areas during the process and told us how the area would look when the project was finished. We've already referred his work to a neighbor (she's using him) and we would hire Mike and Professional Home Services for future home projects.

The Professional Gutter Services did a fine job on my gutters. They took the old ones down. The gutters work properly. The workers were nice. They were done when promised. I would recommend them to others.
