I contacted this company based on Angie's List good reviews. I spoke with Mike, I believe his name was, I told him I needed several new windows for my basement, he said he could definitely do the work and would send me an estimate via e-mail. It has been over a month and I haven't received an estimate, I did call back the contact number to see if he had lost my e-mail or phone number but no one answered and I didn't leave a message. I found the situation to be unprofessional to have such a high rating.

These guys are Impressive! From start to finish. Professional Home Services was not even on my radar, but a friend pointed out their Angie's list reviews. I find most things that sound too good to be true generally are too good to be true. But not the case with PHS. Originally I was just looking to replace my 30 year old wood windows. I had a very good idea of what I expected in a replacement window. I called 5 companies for quotes. I told them up front I would be getting multiple quotes and Absolutely No Decisions would be made until I had all five quotes and time to review them. Mike Gunderson, the owner came out to give the quote. Mike was the only one of the five that did not attempt to get a commitment at the time of the quote. He was friendly and well informed about his product. While his quote was not the lowest, it was within $200 -$300 of both of the lower quotes. But the product was actually more comparable to the windows in the two higher quotes. Mike actually took the time and looked at the job took measurements, gave details about his windows, explained what the job would involve. I then mentioned I would like to replace 2 of my windows with a Bay but thought it was outside my price range. All four of the other companies were quick to agree it would be too pricey and in fact were visibly reluctant to quote for a Bay. Mike did not bat an eye, he took some more measurements and gave me a quote for a bay window. He gave me a single price and no pressure to decide. In the end it was no contest, but without Angie's List I would have never know he was out there. 10 double hung windows - $ 3550, These windows were not your basic vinyl window, I wanted all the bells and whistles. This is a very good window at a very good price ! His crew showed 2 weeks later, on time as scheduled to install the 10 double hungs. Ed and Doug were great ! Friendly, efficient and installed 10 beautiful Earthwise Vinyl Windows. It took a less than a day. Mike was at the job at the beginning and checked back during and at the end. He even asked the guys to cap my sliding glass door with the aluminum they capped the windows with so it would better. It looks great! I was so happy with the windows I asked him if he could replace my gutters too. The Bay was ordered after the 10 were installed, $1850 plus an extra $100 for some decorative aluminum. Mike was wonderful to work with, he cheerfully tolerated my flip flopping on the desired dimensions for the Bay. Ed, Doug and Jared did a wonderful job installing the window. And Doug did an amazing job capping a window which presented him with some unexpected logistical issues. I could not be more pleased. Ed even took the time to fix a problem I was having with my back door. Mike checks back with his crews during the day and makes sure you are happy with the the job when they are done. The new gutters went in the next day, with gutter guards no more cleaning out gutters! Best experience with a contractor I ever had. Mike has high standards and so do the people who work for him. You definitely feel that your job is as important to him as it is to you. You will find they will go the extra mile for you.

We had a total of 15 double pane windows done. They replaced all our windows and it cost us $5200.

I ordered the windows in October and they installed them in November. We had older Anderson windows and when they replaced them there was a gap and the owner came back and fixed them himself. He brought somebody with him to help him paint it. It wasn't in the original so they went the extra mile.

Outstanding. A+ in all categories. Our dingy, old 1950's ranch looks brand new. The materials and workmanship were top quality; all window trim was properly wrapped and caulked. Due to the age of our house, the contractor had to add furring strips to the soffit to even it out so the vinyl would align properly. There were never any hidden costs and the entire crew was professional and considerate. I am a details person and all the details were taken care of on this job. The seams are perfect and Mike's team went above and beyond to make sure all the new components blended beautifully with the old construction. The siding part was a small job, but the impact was huge. I asked Mike to finish off a siding job that was started but not finished by another contractor, so the square footage was minimal and we already had the materials. Still, there were a lot of angled cuts and there was extra prep work required to make it align right. The finished job surpassed my expectations. Couldn't be happier with their performance on this job.

The guys showed up on time, got started right away and finished before we expected. The attention to detail was extraordinary. They made sure each and every window was perfect and operating smoothly before they finished up. They cleaned up thoroughly and were sure that we knew how to operate the windows exactly right. We have a French door as part of our purchase and when I mentioned that I really wanted a screen for it, one was thrown in at no additional cost. This business will get all our business with future homes we buy to resell. We made an excellent choice and are grateful to Angie's List for the recommendation.

They did a fantastic job. They are wonderful people, They did a few extra handyman services around the house also. They quoted me $5000 and the owner, Mike said he wasn't going to charge extra even though it took longer than normal but I threw in $200 more for all the little extras they did. They were great!

One of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in home maintenance and improvement. Mike Gundersen is not only a consummate professional, he's warm, friendly and a great communicator. He is truly an expert on home improvement and maintenance needs and when a job, or part of one, is outside his companies competencies, he is connected to professionals like himself who can get it done right. Our total face lift of a foreclosure we purchased is truly wondrous and done on time and on budget. I can't say enough good things about the entire experience, but anyone (including the neighbors) who has seen the before and after finds it hard to believe it is the same house. PS three of the neighbors have already asked for estimates to have Mike start work for them. PPSS... lock up your wife and daughters ;<) He not only charms the birds from the trees, he's a great person inside and out.

It was excellent. They were punctual, honest, and friendly when they came out to give us the quote.

Their estimate was good and the product was comparable to other companies. Their professional was not as polished as some of the other companies. The quote they gave me was around $4000 to $5000. I am probably not going to consider using them.

They had already installed windows in my home and I had them come back to install some more.

My experience with this company was excellent. Michael was very professional in his approach. He presented all options and allowed me to choose the best fit for my needs. He stayed in communication during the entire process so that I was always aware of what was going on and where we were in the process. The job was completed in a very tight time-line under less than perfect weather conditions. The most telling part of the experience came after they completed the roof. The day after the job was completed I noticed that there were two slightly different color shingles in blocks that made the roof look like it was patched with mismatched shingles. When I called Micheal he was at my house within an hour to see the problem and had the offending shingles replaced within a few days. Because I was out of town during the remediation process, Michael sent me photos as the fix was being completed because he wanted me to feel confident that it was being taken care of. I would definitely use this company again.

Estimate and installation were very well done. There was a slight delay in the date the windows were promised, but only a week. Everything was done professionally and with care. Never had reason to worry during the whole experience. Estimate was right on the money.

Job was begun within one hour of the time proposed, all 24 windows were removed and replaced in 1.5 days which I thought was amazing considering they had to replace rotted window sills in four windows. All materials were of first class quality, cleanup was exceptional. This was one of the most problem free and enjoyable upgrades I have done to my house. The owner and his sister stayed in constant contact with the job technicians and inspected the job several times before & after competition. I will certainly use this firm again! Oh and they price there work very competitively against competition.

I cannot say enough good things about these folks. All the young men were careful, considerate, courteous, devoted to doing a good job ... completely professional. I recommend them highly and have already spoken with Mike (the owner) about other projects he can help me with. I am a VERY satisfield customer! :-)

I actually had called several other companies and received estimates before checking Angie's list at the last minute. Professional Home Services had many great revues so I decided to get one more estimate before making a decision and I am very glad that I did. Mike Gundersen came to the house and was very straight forward an honest. I told him exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and he ended up getting me better quality windows for a lower price than the 3 other companies had quoted. My windows arrived in about 3 weeks and Mike called and set up a time for installation. His all American crew showed up on time and did very good work paying very close attention to detail. Mike frequently came by to check on their work and followed up after the installation to make sure that we were happy with everything. Mike and his crew even fixed a few non associated items on the outside of my house at no charge. Our new windows are great and I was very satisfied with Professional Home Services. I will certainly use them again for any other major projects.

Mike Gundersen, the owner, immediately answered my telephone call even though he was on vacation in California...go figure. This says a lot about Mike's dedication to and love of his work. I told him about my situation including the fact that I already had one estimate. We made the appointment to meet, I believe it was for the following week. Mike's personality is well suited to represent his company, and his knowledge of the job totally sold me and I signed a contract the following week. He was respectful of the other company, and explained the differences factually to my satisfaction. However, I at no time felt pressured to "sign on the dotted line". In fact, Mike encouraged me to think about the information he provided. His estimate for the work was comparable money-wise to the other contractor, however, unlike the other company there was no burden on me to prepare for the install (I'm in my 60's and that meant a lot to me). I can't say enough about Mike and his crew. Mike and I talked several times during the first day of the installation. His crew was great; most of the time when I had questions I spoke with Doug who took whatever time needed to answer my questions. The other guys were just as accommodating. At the end of the install you never knew they were there except for the marvelous changes. The second and final day of the installation I felt like it was an early Christmas. Every attention to detail was given and the end product is something I'll enjoy for a very long time. I am so excited to realize the energy savings benefit and aesthetically, the change is phenomenal. I now actually enjoy looking out of my windows; they no longer are a distraction. All and all this experience has been great. Don't let that northern accent fool you; Mike has Southern charm and cares about pleasing and seeing smiles on the face of his customers. Mike, you're the man!

We couldn't be more impressed with the level of service from Professional Home Services. Before booking the job with Mike, we got several estimates (some higher, some lower) from a number of highly recommended companies from Angie's list, and Mike was the only one who walked around with us to explain exactly what would be done to maintain the original look and character of the house. We're people who like to have a lot of information before making a decision and to understand fully what we're getting into, and Mike took the time to explain exactly what he planned to do so that we fully understood. We were impressed with his attention to detail and the obvious pride he took in his work. Mike also provided a variety of options for how to finish the dormer windows at a variety of price points so that we could make an informed decision, and he thoroughly explained what each option would entail. Before we booked the job, he provided us with the addresses of several jobs he'd done in the past so we could verify the quality of his work. Needless to say, we were impressed. Despite having lots of rain (a weather situation that understandably interferes with window installation!), Mike and his crew were able to install our windows the week we originally scheduled the job. The crew arrived promptly and were incredibly efficient, clean, respectful, polite, and great with our rambunctious dog. Mike came by the house twice and called once to ensure everything was going as planned, and he followed up at the end of the job to make sure everything was just perfect and to answer any questions. He made sure we knew to call him if we saw anything that we felt needed to be addressed. We had one window casing that was poorly attached to the house originally, and when they removed the original window, the interior molding came away from the wall. Mike made sure to fix it so that when they left, it looked better than it did when we bought the house. We can't recommend this company highly enough! We plan to have them back to replace our back storm door and will call them if we need any other work done.

We set a date to have the work done. The day arrived and the two professional installers arrived right on time. They explained what they would be doing and promptly provided me with the paperwork that I will need to file for my tax rebate. The job was scheduled to be a day and a half and by mid afternoon they were complete except for the clean up. Everything was done, including cleanup and the extra work to my satisfaction by 4:30. That rocks. Rae came back that afternoon to make sure I did not have any questions or problems. Everything was wonderful. It has now been over a month and Rae has contacted me again to be sure I am satisfied with the work. I sure am and did I tell you I LOVE MY WINDOWS. Thanks Professional Home Services.

They did what they said they would do. It was a smaller job and they charged accordingly and fairly.

We had 8 23 year old double-pane wooden casement windows we wanted replaced for various reasons (wouldn't open or were cracked or fogged). Mike came to our house to give us an estimate. He explained our options very thoroughly (full replacement or leaving the frame intact and replacing the windows within the frames with vinyl windows) and showed in detail the the work involved and cost of each option. He did not pressure us to take the more expensive option; in fact he recommended the less costly option and took time to explain why. We were impressed with Mike and the cost was reasonable so we signed a contract that day. The crew showed up promptly on the scheduled day; they were very professional and did an excellent job. They reviewed the process and explained exactly what they would be doing. They took extra care to be sure all debris was cleaned up inside and outside when they finished. Mike came by to be sure everything was going as expected. He called the next day to see if we had any issues or questions and he came to the house the following day to check that everything was completed satisfactorily. The whole process was smooth and professional. Mike and his crew were courteous and great to work with. We couldn't be more pleased with the process and results.

I contacted Professional Home Services to have an estimate done for leak in roof. They were prompt and professional. I received a quote that day. I am sorry to say I went another route to have the work done. This was not a reflection of the company.
