Description of Work: We were replacing a sliding glass door with a system that worked for us as well as our dogs. Granted, we had some unique requirements that I assumed would drive the price up, but I was not prepared for what their initial quote was. As usual for me, I did some homework and then contacted three different vendors via Angie's List for a quote. | |Paramount builders were very responsive, but the first salesmen they sent out was not up to speed on the doors they had to sell. He spent most of the time on the phone with his boss. As I was watching the numbers pile up on his sheet, I had to cut him off when he went over $10,000. That was over double what I had budgeted for this job! I sent him packing. | |Next, I was called back by person that called himself a Vice President and he was apparently very concerned that they get our business because they could break into this neighborhood that way. He asked if he could send another salesman out and he would guarantee me the wholesale price so in order to get a foothold in out neighborhood. | |The second guy was a much more slick and seasoned salesman. As his numbers started getting over $7,000 I asked him if his VP had let him know to offer me the wholesale price. He responded that he had not spoken with the VP, but he was prepared to offer that anyway. I wondered if these guys talked at all. It was becoming apparent that Paramount was more of a sales company than a building company, especially when the salesman let me know that I had to accept the wholesale price (which was still over $5,500) before he left my house that day. Then, as if to ensure I did not use that company, he got on the phone with his boss and was talking to him as if I wasn't in the room, saying things like, "nah, he's a really smart guy and I know he won't go to Home Depot and buy one of those cheap doors" and "I know we have the best products, but he seems like he may go with the cheap stuff." I sent him packing soon thereafter. | |Needless to say, it is readily apparent to me that Paramount's main concern is sales, and although they were initially impressive with their responsiveness and willingness to cure the damage the first salesman created, that impression waned significantly with the passive-aggrssiveness of the second. | |Check out Pierpoint if you are in the Stafford Area. Description of Work: Installed new roof and plywood and vent ridge.

Description of Work: Paramount Builders called for appointment. Sent a salesman to assess my windows. Signed contract-Installer came to measure-windows ordered-installed.

Description of Work: The siding repair, 3 window and garage door trim wrap went well. All work was completed in 4 hours by a 6 man 1 woman crew. The warranty for the repairs can be transferred to the new owners if the house is sold.
