Jacob's Ladder Siding Roofing Windows Painting

From the beginning, Jacob's Ladder was easy to work with and very accommodating. The workers were usually there very early in the morning and even worked some on Saturday to catch up from weather delays. All employees were very professional and thorough. When the new paint for our shutters was mixed improperly by the paint store, Jacob's Ladder made a concerted effort to get us the right color quickly. We're also very pleased with the fit and function of our new French doors, which only took a day to install and have made a world of difference in our den. Our house was badly in need of paint and the painters did a great job of scraping and prep to get all the old stuff off. They even made some last minute repairs that I asked for that have prevented a major window failure in an upstairs bathroom. They also took the time to go around the entire house and do touch-ups and last minute spot checks to make sure they didn't miss a thing. The Price I only gave a B, because I am pretty cheap and an A (Excellent) would mean an exceptional deal to me. Their price, though, was very much in line with other quotes we received. Their level of service was well worth it. All in all we are extremely pleased and would recommend Jacob's Ladder for their painting and carpentry expertise in a heartbeat.

How often do you engage a contractor, and then just sit back, relax and watch a beautiful transformation, of your home, take place? Well, my daughter and I just had such an experience, with Jacob's Ladder. After our initial meeting with Seth Dorotich, he handled every detail, with incredible care, and professionalism. In fact, just after our meeting, we found that due to a water leak, the kitchn, bath, and laundry room's flooring, toilet, sink, and some walls, had to be torn out, dried out, and replaced. But, while all this was going on, we never had to give another thought to our siding, being replaced. The house looks BEAUTIFUL. The yard is spotless. Everything, was carried away, quickly, and COMPLETELY. Then, after the job was complete, Seth met with my daughter, to go over the project, to make sure she was THRILLED. And, she was. When I asked for a quote, Reagan met me at the house at lunchtime. I explained that I had a limited budget, and he presented me with a quote that I thought might be a little high. I got some other quotes and realized that Reagan had actually quoted me a very reasonable price. It was only a little more because he was being completely up front about how much carpentry the house required. I felt other contractors low balled that number, since you can always find more things that must be done once the job starts. My house is very important to me, and I wanted this done right with no surprises. I felt Jacob's Ladder provided a competitive, but more importantly, accurate quote. The quote for the actual house painting was really reasonable. Once the contract was signed, which was conveniently done via email, it took about 2 weeks for the job to start. The crew was professional and really nice. I felt completely comfortable having them at my house. The carpentry work was top notch. It was so good, in fact, that I added an additional list of chores to the job scope. They performed the additional work in a timely fashion. They were extremely flexible and easy-going about scope change. I am extremely happy with the quality of their work. The pressure washing and painting was also completed in a timely and meticulous fashion. When the weather did not cooperate, they worked on weekends and holidays to make sure the job got finished. I paid in full before the job was 100% finished, they came and finished regardless, no problem. I am absolutely sure if I ever had an issue with their work that they would address this right away. I will be using Jacob's Ladder again and recommend them to everyone.

I was very impressed with Justin. He was easy to communicate with, arrived promptly, was professional and addressed all of my concerns with an exterior painting job of my almost 20 year old house that has incurred a few rotted siding boards and a serious crack in a gable from a recent earthquake, I presume. He was very informative as to materials and methods of repair and very quick in sending me a detailed proposal. He also supplied me with references. Absolutely the best company I could have chosen. Seth Dorotich and his work crew were professional, knowledgeable, dependable, and trustworthy and did quality work. Other than the roof, which had been replaced about 5 years ago, the exterior of our house was in terrible shape. I wasn?t even sure if Jacob?s Ladder could take it on. But after our initial walk-around, Seth assured me that he and his crew could make it look like a new house, which they did. The quality of their work is excellent. I?ve had an electrician and plumber come by recently and they remarked about the quality of the vinyl siding installation. Everyone attended to the details so that everything was done in top-notch order. There were also some "surprises" that were found and addressed. These included rebuilding the rotten dormers, adding insulation that was missing to the walls next to the attic, and replacing some missing shingles. Additionally, I appreciated the "little things" that the crew did for me. For example, I changed my mind about the front door locks, which necessitated uninstalling the old locks and installing new locks ? this was done by the crew without a complaint and they were very friendly about it. Another example was that a crew person volunteered to install some sheet metal over my basement windowsills as a temporary fix until I was ready to replace those windows. I also appreciated that during the initial estimate, Seth was upfront about the type of gutters they could install and even suggested going with another company for an upgraded gutter, which I did. He also suggested getting the roof washed and inspected to see what shape it was in and gave me the name of a company, which I ended up hiring and they did a great job. And one final example was that the doors and windows weren?t finished until one of the guys went around and cleaned the windows till they sparkled. I would absolutely refer friends and family to this company for vinyl, window, and porch replacement. Seth is a very easy person to work with, he does not pressure you into something you do not want or need, he does not do a ?hard sell,? and you can tell he takes pride in ensuring all the work done by his crew is of the highest caliber. If something being installed needs tweaking, he will find it and make sure it?s done right. The whole experience was about as hassle-free as one could expect, given the extensive amount of work that was done on my house. I?m recently retired and took on this project while my husband had minimal involvement. I was treated professionally by everyone involved.

Jacob's Ladder replaced all the siding and trim on our home with Hardi Plank siding and trim. They also painted the house two coats. The crew was very punctual, hard working and did a good job with keeping the yard cleaned up. They were very good at handling unforeseen problems with the job such as my house having no sheathing on it when the siding was removed, so they installed OSB sheathing around the entire house then wrapped it with tyvek prior to the installation of trim and siding. Reagan was our project manager and did a great job with keeping the job on schedule and coordinating all the guys. I would highly recommend Jacob's Ladder and plan on using them again in the future. In fact after I had them reside my home I had them come back and do some interior painting for me.

They were very professional. They were higher priced than what we were looking for.

It was a fair price. We did choose someone else.

We found out about them because they were doing some work in the neighborhood. I thought it was a franchise or something but it's locally owned and operated and started in Midlothian. Reagan did the estimate and was very helpful. He saw things the other guys didn't see which meant we would have fewer surprises. They are good at what they do and use good products which is important. All the guys were nice and neat. The carpentry estimate turned out being more than what we thought but that was because there were issues that couldn't be seen until they started. I'm just glad it was addressed and not covered up. The guys do the painting and the carpentry so we didn't have to wait or call them back after the rot was fixed. It's a pretty efficient setup.

He was really nice. He actually recommended that we did not do it. He told us what to do about the problem, which did not involve getting gutters. We did it, and it worked great. We didn't have to hire him. He did great. He gave me terrific advice. He did not charge for coming by. He was extremely professional. He was very honest on his evaluation on the issue.

Everything was great from start to finish. They showed up on time for the estimate and were so helpful. He explained all the pros and cons of different sidings that were out there and helped us fit what was best for our home and OUR BUDGET. He explained the benefit of removing all the old siding before installing the new siding. Some of the other companies were so pushy about only doing Hardyplank and talked so negatively of other companies it was a turn-off. Another company said they would go over the old siding but a lot of our siding was very rotted. The guys worked very hard. They were very careful about picking up nails and not leaving a mess. The foreman was very easy to talk to

The experience was wonderful overall. Seth, the main contact person, was great to work with, as was the entire crew. They were very professional, easy to work with, and had great attention to detail. They were responsive to suggestions, and we're very satisfied with the work that was done. We've gotten alot of compliments on the renovation. We really love it and we'd definitely use them again with no question.

We had an excellent experience. The estimate for removing the wall paper, prepping and painting included materials. The estimate from Jacob's Ladder was equal to the least expensive estimate I gathered for only painting the interior of the house. Since I had not used the company in the past, I was worried that I would have a surprise when I received the invoice. There were no surprises and my invoice was the exact amount of the estimate. The workmanship was excellent, any of my questions or concerns were addressed immediately. It was easy to schedule the work and it was completed in a timely manner. Jacob's Ladder exceeded my expectations and I will be sure to use them again. As for the window replacement. They stayed within my budget and the replacement was seamless. I was not even home when it was completed.

They did exactly what they said they would, when they said they would. Our daughter was getting married and I told them that I did not want them to begin the job unless they knew that they could complete all of the work before the wedding. They delivered the supplies on the day that they said they would and they completed all of the work right on schedule. The work area was cleaned up each day and none of the workmen would sign off on their tasks until the supervisor had reviewed their work and given his approval. They did such a great job we recommended them to friends and neighbors. We have also called them back for other household repairs.

Having Jacob's Ladder work with us felt like we were having a trusted friend in charge of our home repair. We actually weren't expecting to hire them when we were collecting estimates; I had to invite Seth over owing to the reviews on this site. When he arrived he gave us a price that was significantly lower than that of competitors, though we knew he was not skimping in materials or the service expectations of the most well known contractors. We wanted to do this job once so we wanted it done correctly; we weren't going to settle for a budget job and knew enough to compare apples to apples with price. Doing so, Jacob's Ladder's price was excellent. What sealed the deal, though, was that Seth's professionalism didn't come with a hard sell or any kind of pitch; we felt so comfortable with his concern for doing good work that we had to go with him. When the work started my family met Oscar and the team who installed the siding and repaired the deck and porch deck. I have never seen a team work for such long hours so cheerfully. Though the process was sometimes loud, they were so enjoyable to have around that my daughter and I enjoyed bringing them lemonade and chatting with them here and there during the process. Oscar was fixated at all times on producing work which met our satisfaction. At convenient times he would invite me out to make sure that I approved of the work the team had done and offered me options when a decision came up. When unforeseen issues popped up that didn't require me, he often attended to it without ever bothering me about something not being in the contract. For example, when there was a tiny crack of space appearing in the seal of our front door owing to our own crooked frame, Oscar became almost obsessed with the problem until it was 100% solved, even though the problem had nothing to do with the work they had done. I am still noticing little things (ex. making a tight trim detailing corner around a connecting deck rail) that Oscar and his team did to add that extra touch to make the house look perfect. At the end of each day they meticulously cleaned up the job site. During this whole process Seth stayed in contact with us, too. If I called or e-mailed him, I often got a response within minutes! My wife and I are so happy we went with Jacob's Ladder and we recommend them without reservation for siding work. We get compliments from complete strangers on its appearance because the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship is so high. They really combine old fashioned expectations of quality and pride in work done well with contemporary expectations of responsiveness. A nice guy came out and gave me the estimate, but I didn't use them. I might get another estimate from them.

We met and were impressed with Seth during our first project, but have worked mostly with Reagan. He is a complete professional and always a pleasure to work with. For the window and siding replacement project he provided a prompt and thorough estimate, answered all our questions, and helped us make the best decision regarding window options. He let us know when work would begin and what to expect and was very cooperative about working with our schedule. We were aware that there was likely some water damage behind the siding, and Reagan was forthright in informing us that there was no way to assess the extent of the damage until the siding was removed, and that the price he quoted us was subject to change. As it turned out, the damage was far more extensive than anyone had imagined and the scope of the project changed radically. However, Reagan and his crew were assiduous in keeping us informed, showing us what they discovered, and explaining what they were going to do to repair it. The crew remained continuously on site for about six weeks until everything had been completed. They kept the job site as neat as possible, and were unfailingly polite, friendly, and cheerful. We almost missed them when they left (little knowing that they would be back about a month later)! After the hurricane, Reagan got us an estimate quickly, and the crew showed up the following week. Using only a photograph I showed them, they designed and built a really beautiful new deck gazebo. The work was meticulous, and as before, the crew was a pleasure to have around. They even took the time to occasionally toss a tennis ball for our too-friendly labrador retriever. Without question, this is the company I will hire the next time I have a project.

I originally contacted Jacob's Ladder re staining my new fence and painting exterior wood trim. They did such a good job that I then had them paint the entire interior of my house. They even included the radiators, porch rails and other items we did not specifically discuss. The painters came early, worked steadily and cleaned up daily They were very reponsive, testing sample after sample till finding the exact shade I had in mind. They accommodated my travel schedule by coming early or staying late to discuss any needs. They were not the cheapest painters but I would use them again.

This company did a great job, were thorough. While they did miss one area of repair, when advised of it they immediately returned and completed the work. Initially they missed their start date, however this was due to a customer that kept finding more areas to repair. This delayed their start 3 - 4 days. The workers were polite and very responsive to questions about how certain areas were being handled. They listen to our ideas and did their best to accommodate our expectations. We were very pleased and would hire them again.

I filled out an online information request form on their website (end of Jan 2011) for window and siding information. Seth called back that evening and scheduled a walk around and estimate. He was very willing to work with our time schedules and came out one evening. He brought brochures, product samples and made suggestions along the way (which we ultimately went with) and provided a written estimate. We opted to go with just having new windows installed at that time. The windows were in by mid-Feb and the crew came out and installed them. They were a great group, professional, nice, personable and did a great job. Seth came back a few days later to see how things were and check the work. All in all it was a great experience and we love our windows. Once finances permit, we will definitely have them come back and do the siding work. They are a very professional company and a pleasure to work with.

It looked good initially and they were easy to work with but then they had to put one of the pieces of flashing on and there was a big water problem in the kitchen and water was leaking through the roof. I probably wouldn't use them again.

We chose Jacob's Ladder to install windows, siding, gutters, and paint. Our choice was based on high level of trust and comfort, excellent recommendations from several neighbors, competitive pricing, and quality and choice of product. Seth was very easy to work with and lines of communication were always open. They were responsive to our every need. We asked a lot of questions up front and during the project, and Seth went out of his way to answer them however significant or insignificant they were to the scope of the project. Any issues that arose were immediately addressed. The crew was respectful and worked diligently. It was a very positive experience.

They showed up and they were great. He was excellent, he deserves A+'s. I didn't have enough of a design for him to give me a quote. I had a rough sketch and he said I needed a little more detail. He gave me the name of a person who would help me. He told me to call this guy who did work for him and showed me plans, he pointed me in the right direction.
