They came out the first day and they had to get the parts, so they came out the second day and finished it out. Their workers seem reliable and we have them before. They are prompt and courteous. Their pricing is appropriate for the area. We are pleased with them.

+ 0 moreI've used Short Pump Heating and Air for years. My first experience was after having some problems with the unit originally installed by Woodfin. Two other companies had come out to give me an estimate and both were pushing to replace the unit - that was less than 5 years old at the time. Chuck and his crew made adjustments to my unit and changed the filter unit which saved me from an unneccessary replacement. These guys are honest, reliable (call ahead, show up on time, know what they are doing). I always opt for the annual contract and they give me preventive advice that doesn't always translate into more money. You couldn't trust another HVAC more.

Their prices were on par with what other companies quoted us. They did their work on time and cleaned up when they were done. Overall a great experience with them.

Description of Work: Our Heat Pump-A/C was leaking freon. Repairman gave us options stating there was no guarantee how long this would last. We chose to take the chance but also got quotes. Lasted about 6 weeks and we called to have the heat pump replaced. They were comparable to the other quotes but returned our phone calls and came out in a very reasonable lenth of time, very professional and gave us tips on ways for better efficiency. Definitely would recommend them!

Description of Work: Semi Annual service, under my service contrat with Short Pump Heating & Air. Maintenance done right. highly recommend tis organization and the annual service program.

Description of Work: I awoke this Monday morning to a cold house on, what the weather reports said would be the coldest day since last winter.....isn't that when your devices fail you.......when they are most needed? After reviewing my Angie's List I settled on Short Pump Heating and Air and called them at around 8:00am.....not being a customer I was expecting an all-day wait for service. Within two hours I received a call to say the technician was on the way, and sure enough, shortly after 10am he showed up at my door. Technician James Martin was outstanding in explaining the issue, recommending and carrying out the fix and suggesting future checks that I can carryout to avoid similar issues that may arise. Of course, he also recommended a maintenance contract on my heating system which I was open to and readily accepted. I am a retired technician myself (though not heating and air) and can recognize when a tech is, shall we say, blowing smoke.......James was most professional and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Short Pump Heating and Air....see you next spring.

Description of Work: Installed new heat pump system, new slab for new outside unit, cleaned the ducts, new thermostat installed. Estimator was very professional and helpful, installers on time, and efficient.

+ -1 moreFrom office staff to technician, everything top notch. Punctual, polite, and replacement is working fine. I priced the job with a large local heating and air company, and Short Pump was the same, so I feel like the price was fair. I would use them again.
Description of Work: My outside heat pump unit did not work. Short Pump Heating and Air came out the same day of my call, and said I needed a new outdoor unit. They were able to put it in the next day.

+ -1 moreOverall, they solved the problem quickly and efficiently which we appreciated. I was told since it was a rental property there would be no problem sending me the bill and I didn't need to be onsite for the repair/ estimate. I was also told I would be called before the repair took place. What actually happened was the tenant paid the bill and I was never called. I had to call the tenant worried that the A/C people had arrived late. The work was great but having to call to get a receipt sent to me after I was clear about what needed to happen was a bit frustrating. When I called to get the receipt I was told then that Short Pump is paid when the work is performed. I understand that but that is not what we were told originally and making more than one call to get a simple problem solved is frustrating.
Description of Work: The A/c in our rental property stopped working. I called several business local to the property but Short Pump was the only one able to respond the next day. Most everyone didn't have availability for several days and the temperatures were 95 degrees and up.

+ -1 moreI contacted Short Pump AC when my AC unit stopped working. This was during a fairly hot spell and they were very busy, but they squeezed me in the next day. It wa late in the day when the tech arrived and completed the work within an hour or so. I asked to have the freon checked in the second unit, but he declined because it was not on the schedule. Upon talking with the owner a few days later, they sent someone out at no charge to check for me. That was the best possible solution. The price charged for freon was a little high, but most companies are charging $60 to $100 a pound now.
Description of Work: Replaced AC capacitor, checked system and filled freon.

They worked quickly and got the entire job done soon enough for the house to be cooled down by the time my husband got home from work! They cleaned up after themselves and hauled all the trash and old unit away. They showed me how to work the thermostat. We couldn't be more pleased. They sized the unit just right. We just went through the record breaking heat wave, and it was cool a comfortable in this house the entire time! We could not be more pleased! If you're interested in the 'feelings' things: I felt much more comfortable with this companies sales person, maybe it was because of the contrast with others, but he didn't have that slick 'salesman' aura. I felt comfortable with everyone that came to our house from this company. That's unusual for me, I'm usually a nervous Nelly.
Description of Work: We had our 11 year old ac/heatpump replaced. We got a slightly larger unit to account for a small addition we'd added to the house. We had a whole house air filter installed. They replaced some of the old ducting that was not up to todays standards. They added a vent and ducting in one room. They fixed ducting that had been installed poorly the first time.

She worked with my schedule.Tech arrived on time, explained what he was going to do and got to work. Finished a short time later, explained what he did and said that I should notice the system working more efficiently - and he was right! Glad I got the tune up right before the heat wave. The $69.95 internet coupon from their website was a bargain!Service was great and I will certainly use them again.

+ -1 moreThe technician was prompt, considerate, knowledgeable and professional. He patiently explained each proposed repair. After he completed the work, I asked about some additional specific issues and for his opinion of the overall system health; he immediately called his boss to schedule a visit for him to assess all of the system components. His boss came within days, studied everyting, and presented a written proposal within days. I was so pleased that I have now scheduled them to come in a replace one of the systems (parts of which are 25 years old - really!). Vastly superior to the firm I had been using.
Description of Work: Work included inspection and service of two heat pump systems, replacement of two (expensive) Space-Gard air filters and repairs that were idientified during the inspection process. Also, signed up for maintenance agreements on both systems.

Eventually she admitted she needed to refer me to the Scheduler, who didn't call me back until 3+ hours later only to try to schedule an appt when that's not what I wanted, while the the other companies I contacted provided me with a quote immediately or called me back within the hour.
Description of Work: I called to get a cost and time estimate to repair a refrigerator; specifically the service call fee and hourly rate, and the earliest available appointment.

+ -1 moreEverything went as they told us, the work was done on time and it was done professionally. Price wise, they were just in the ballpark of the other two companies that we’ve considered. One of the companies was cheaper but they didn’t seem very professional and they didn’t return the calls. Short Pump Air & Heating had a brand that we were looking for, because a friend recommended that brand. Overall, everything was good. They maintained their schedule. It was a very good company and I had a good experience overall. You can go with this company; they’ll do what they promise to do and they do respond to calls. They came out as an honest company.
Description of Work: Short Pump Air & Heating came out last year in February to replace our air conditioning system. We had replaced the heat pump and the unit inside and also added the humidifier.
