Description of Work: We had them out for maintenance around the house and we were very pleased with the result.

Description of Work: A/C unit was having issues cooling the house. The system is about 14 years old. The air coming out of the outlets didn't feel cool. So Short Pump Heating and Air was contacted to come out to do a diagnostic and fix the issue. They determined that it was a slow refrigerant leak in the A/C system and recharged the system with about 1.5 pounds of refrigerant. The technician said that the A/C will eventually need to be replaced. But, the technician said we could get by with recharging with refrigerant. The system is working and cooling fine now.

Description of Work: Air conditioning went out at dinner time. The company I have a service contract with was too backed up to handle the situation. Even knowing I had a service contract with another company, Short Pump was happy to help. They asked a few diagnostic questions on the phone, and agreed to come over within the hour. The serviceman was well spoken and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, it was our dual capacitor. Based on the age of our system, this was a reasonable item to need replacement. The air was back on in 30 minutes and the gentleman was on his way. Great experience.

Description of Work: Installed a new heat pump

Description of Work: Heat pump needed replacing. Called several companies for estimates. Short Pump responded quickly, on time for both estimate meeting and the day of the actual replacement. Over $1000 cheaper than other companies for same Carrier heatpump and air handler. Very professional staff. Estimate in writing with contract, they came to house again prior to installation to make sure they had everything they needed for the job, supervisor came with workmen to oversee the work (but the workmen were great--courteous, clean, wore shoe covers in the house). They cleaned up all debride before leaving. I would highly recommend. They are a small company and are working hard to keep their customers and gain new ones. They also finished on time. Nice!
