BROUGHTON APPLIANCE SERVICES

Please avoid my mistake and choose another appliance service company. I have a Maytag and Broughton is the only certified repair company in Richmond. My first appointment for service was in October and it is now December 29th. It is STILL not working properly. My dishwasher was misdiagnosed three times. Each time, they’d have to order a part and then come two weeks later to install it. I feel that they did this in order to charge me more. I have paid more than $ 400 for a repairs over a period of 3 months. If I had known it would have been that much, I would have purchased a new dishwasher. We have had to hand wash dishes for every major holiday. In the end, I am convinced that the original problem was a simple and inexpensive fix that the repair person missed. I tried speaking with the owner and they have been of no assistance. I will never buy another Maytag dishwasher that is required to be serviced by Broughton. This has been the worst service of any repair experience in my life.

Broughton Appliances on Lakeside came out to look at my ~10 year old dryer. Parts had to be ordered (thermostat and fuse) but that only took one day and the original visit was not billed. The tech, Kemp, was knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. He even gave me the senior discount.

That is why I tell everybody because they are so good. Yes,I would use them again. Communication is very good. They told me what they were doing and if it would work or if it wouldn't work. They were really communicative, when they needed to comeback they came when they said they were coming and all that good stuff.

Everything went well and they were able to tell me the cost of repairing or replacing the unit.

It took three appointments and over two months to fix my freezer. Whirlpool agreed to pay for the repair (they did take a month to send the new door.). I had already paid them $126 for the first two appointments. They refunded me $36 of that. So the price was the actual repair plus $90.

No problems. The parts were rather expensive but don't know if that was out of servicer's control. Came as promised and performed professionally. No complaints.

Parts had to be ordered and the technician returned when Broughton received the parts. The noise was eliminated.

The workers were very good. They came back a couple of times because they had to troubleshoot. They had to talk to their boss about the issue and sought his input and feedback. So I thought they were professional, in the sense that if they thought they needed help, they went and got the additional help to try to solve the problem.

I was highly impressed with the service tech who arrived at my home within 15 minutes of calling to advise he was on his way. Very professional in appearance, manner and performance, while being a pleasant experience and interaction at the same time. First thing he did was ask about the current situation and status of the dryer. Then he 'listened' to my answer, verified he understood what I was describing and immediately went to work. The full evaluation and determination of the problem was accomplished within five minutes, including his pricing information. Luckily, I had done my research prior to his visit, my wife and I had already set a dollar amount to determine repair or replace. I shared this with the service tech and he was in absolute agreement to purchase and replace the dryer with a new one, based on his calculations. The entire visit was less than I expected to pay for the service visit and the service call was completed within about 30 minutes. I fully intend to use Broughton Appliance Services again without hesitation. More so because of their professionalism, integrity, respectful and honest way of doing business and treatment of the customer, over the cost. I give them my highest recommendation and will not hesitate to refer them to others. A great experience from the first contact calling them to the finished service call. No wonder they have been in business for 50+ years.

She was extremely kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely consider them in the future.

Fixed it & had part on truck

They are good people. I've known them for about forty-fifty years. These guys are no BS they are straight, they are honest. He said what I do it may last for two three years or longer or be gone next month. Let's try this and see how it works.

Repair was complete within 30 minutes of arrival. Definitely will use this company in the future.

Never again Frigidaire, but Broughton is a great business with good people whom I trust.

Great, speedy service for a small job. They were very helpful and friendly. Very trustworthy - we really felt we were being helped.

Mr. Broughton and his wife were very pleasant to work with. He came out to our house, diagnosed the problem, gave us an estimate and told us the part had to be ordered. They called 2 days later, scheduled the return and came out the next day and installed the part. Easy as that. The final price was even $15.00 less than the estimate!

He arrived on time and had all necessary supplies and parts with him. Worked efficiently, explained all aspects of what was dysfunctional and how the control board was damaged when the broiler element went out. He cleaned-up the packaging of the new parts and installation was completed in a reasonable time. Very pleasant manor and exhibited technical skill in addressing the issues of the oven, with which he appeared to be very familiar.

He cme out and fixed the problem, simple as that. Great service and no run around.

I knew they had been around for a while and had good reviews. I contacted them and were able to come out the next day. Unfortunately the part required was not in stock anywhere in town. They got the part ordered and came right out once they received the part. Very happy with their service from all aspects.

A large plastic ring had come out of place in my 30 year old washing machine. The repairman, Chris, was able to put it back in place with, naturally, no guarantee how long it will stay there but I can use my washer until I get a new one. Handle on oven door keeps falling off. Repairman tightened the screws in the handle for me. He also diagnosed a squeeking in my also 30 year old dryer and was able to explain to me exactly what was causing the noise. He was unable to repair because you can't get those parts anymore. Chris was great in his ability to explain things to me and was very personable. Would definitely use again.

On a Sunday, we realized our refrigerator was not cooling. After checking Angie's List for the name of a reliable appliance repair business, I called and left a message so the company would have this info first thing Monday morning. I got a call on Monday morning from Mrs. Broughton, and her husband and an assistant, Larry, were at our home by 10:30am. I couldn't believe they could respond that fast and they also had the new part needed to repair our refrigerator. They had to sweep out lots of dust that had accumulated in the bottom, and then they cleaned all the dust and mess off of the floor. We were very impressed with Mr. Broughton's and Larry's professionalism and we would definitely do business with them again.

It went well and he showed up when he said he would be here.

Called them based on reports on Angie's List, they were polite and professional on the phone. Ordered the part, but when it arrived it was cracked, which they discovered prior to coming out. Called us to apologize, had already put in an urgent order for a replacement. This arrived a couple of days later and they installed it less than a week after the original date. Owner himself came out and finished in less than an hour. My wife and kids were home and he was VERY nice and professional throughout. Cost was reasonable, and we will be very careful about what we store above our stove now. Would definitely use them again!
