emailed through angies list for an estimate, was sent an email that someone would call by the end of day. no one ever called or tried to contact me after that. with all the local advertising they do i guess they are too busy for a 10k plus roof job.

Two years ago I had roofing work done and the contractor told me the seal in my skylights was broken because the glass appeared cloudy and they could begin to leak soon. He stated I should have them replaced in the neat future to prevent this, and save energy. He offered to provide an estimate when I was ready. This month I called for an estimate for this job, and the price from the roofing contractor seemed very high. I called BNW for a second quote. Jason came the same week. He was personable, friendly, and professional. He provided an estimate about $500.00 less than the roofer, using the exact same replacement products. Jason asked why I was interested in this job, and I told him. Jason told me in his professional opinion the skylights were in good condition, they just needed cleaning. He said the current skylights were of good quality and should last many more years. Of course, BNW would be happy to replace them if this is what I wanted, but he felt I should know this was not currently necessary. This was all said with no negative comments about the roofing company at all. I felt Jason was offering his expertise, not disclaiming the other company. I know the purpose of this List is to praise good work, but I want to praise a company that hires workers with integrity and honesty like Jason. He save me about $1900.00 wasted on unnecessary work, not to mention time and mess. I will be adding a deck in the near future, and BNW will be the first company I will call from now on for estimates! Thanks, BNW and Jason!!!

Long delay in scheduling from point of estimate to actual work being done. Quickly completed and does not leak.

Went very well. The installer did an outstanding job and was friendly. The only thing that bothered me was that he left some trash behind. i.e. the protective cardboard end covers on the windows; I was just surprised because it seemed out of character given his good work. Maybe he just forgot. I chose this company because they had previously done work for me (roof), they were local, and the price was competitive.

This was a while ago, about a year ago but my experience with them was good. From start to finish .... A salesman came out to my house and showed me their product. I was looking at several companies and I chose this product because it was a bigger gutter and had a very nice look to it. I hired them and a day or so later had to go to their office to sign some more paperwork. About a week - two weeks later, I had my installation date. I do remember it was winter time and snow was on the ground, so that delayed the project a little. However, as soon as they could, they installed my gutters without any issues. When I came back home to check them out, I wanted to make a small adjustment to the downspout and they came out that very same day and fixed my issue. In addition, they helped me get financing for this project, which was good for me. I have no issues with this company and would use them again when the need arises.

What the could have done differently was not park in my driveway because it blocked my car from getting in and out of the garage. I noticed it is not just them; all contractors in Virginia seem to have that problem.

They came and took care of everything while we were gone. You would never know they were there without seeing the new gutters with gutter guard. Excellent job.

I had three estimates fro a roof repair. Two of the estimates were provided by companies (small) that did a detail examination of my problem, They climbed onto the roof to inspect; looked inside to inspect and gave me an informed estimate. BNW rep stood down on the ground about 20 feet away from the house and gave my the highest bid.

No estimate was provided as I was told that they did not have any time in the next few months to even come out to do one. I did not want to ruin their ratings/reputation and Angie's list will not allow me to mark all 'N/A's - so just put all 'A's although I certainly would not say that is the case for 'responsiveness' or 'punctuality' but cannot speak in regard to the others.

These guys are very honest, told me that what I needed done was below their job threshold and referred me to another contractor. He still looked at it and told me what needed done, even though he wasn't going to be the one to do it. When I do have a larger job, I will definitely call these folks.

Dealing with BNW builders was one of the best interactions with a company I've ever had. They were extremely prompt with returning emails and calls, and took their time during the briefing and explanation about the product and install. The install team was very polite and extremely efficient; they didn't attempt to leave until all my questions were completed. I would definitely deal with BNW again for any home project!

Had my windows replaced in 2014 using BNW. FANTASTIC experience. By far the highlight was how clean they were during the installation and well they cleaned up the house before they left. BONUS: My salesman came back the next week and helped me reinstall my a/c window unit upstairs (way above the call of duty). Used them again this year for my roof replacement. Once again, top notch service and job. Tommy (site manager) was fantastic to work with. Stayed in touch with me the whole day and into the next. Even left the dumpster an extra day so I could clean our my shed. No doubt I will use BNW for my next home improvement project. Love working with a company that has so many services - all of which, so far, have been 5 stars!!

They did a nice job and the cost was reasonable.

They got an A all across the board. They did such a good job. It couldn't have gone better. The service was perfect.

It was great. They did really well. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. It turned out well. They kept tabs of the job. They were very professional. They were a pleasant to do business with. We didn’t do a lot of shopping but I think it was a good price. The price included the windows and the installation charges. It was reasonable. They were quite fair-minded in pricing. They did everything well.

They were fabulous. They were expensive. I cannot remember the linear footage, but just the area in front of my house, I had that area done and it costs $3,900. They did a fabulous job. What stood out the most was the quality of the work that they did. The workers were extremely professional. They did exactly what the salesperson said they were going to do. We had no issues with them. I definitely plan on using them in the future.

Everything went very smoothly. Original estimate appointment was scheduled almost immediately and they showed up on time and showed us a range of options for the window and door. A few weeks later they called to inform me that the door and window had arrived and were ready for installation and were able to show up the very next day to do the install. Separate guys showed up to do the door and window but were both very friendly and professional and worked non-stop until the job was done. We had some water damage with the old door but they were able to quickly remove the damaged wood and add some extra support. All along they explained to me what had happened and what they were going to do to fix it. The installation went very smoothly after that. Door and window both look great will be a long time customer with BNW if the quality of work remains at this level. Sure I could have bought a contractors grade door and paid some fly by night guy to install it and probably saved some money however its clear in so many ways that we got a high quality door that will last installed by experts all well worth the price. Look forward to working with these guys again.

I called Bnw for a quote for French door installation and a back door installation. They responded quickly and sent out one of their representatives Scott on the agreed date. He came out and gave me a quote for $4000 for the french doors and $1700 for the back door. We decided to wait and have other quotes. Scott called me to follow up a week later and was very rude on the phone when I said their quote was out of my price range. He told me "good luck finding anything good from a box store." He then called back immediately and said his boss said he could offer $2800. I was able to get him to come down to $2588 and we agreed on this price. He came over to fill out the contract then became very dramatic and said that he "completely forgot that they had to alter the door opening and could not offer the agreed price." He raised the price again and I did not agree with this. I would be very careful in dealing with a company like this. They say they are the best, but the sales guy was rude on the phone and then went back on his word. I don't think a good company would treat potential clients like this. They clearly are not interested in making lifelong clients.

Very professional and prompt. Received a couple of quotes and went with someone else.

BNW was great! We were able to negotiate a lower price after they gave us the estimate. The installer was a long-time employee for them, which I always think is a good sign. The windows are great, the installation was professional, and we had a great experience with them. One reason we went with them was that my husband stopped by another window place (I don't even remember which one) and was chatting with the salesperson there about where else we were shopping for windows. When he heard BNW, he told my husband that BNW always does a good installation - he said that with other companies it is sometimes good, sometimes so-so, but with BNW, it's always good. Not a very smart salesperson to give such a good review of a competitor, but we appreciated that he steered us toward BNW, and were very happy with the final product. I would definitely hire them again. And, I always like to support a local company.

The rain slowed the progress of the work, but I was very pleased with how professional they were and responsive to my concerns. I am VERY pleased with the work that was completed and would use them again!

It went fine. They said the windows, which are top of the line Pella windows, and only 5 years old, were probably not supposed to be used as a stationary window in the area in question, and that the possibility also existed that siding was not properly installed around windows. This is the same story I have gotten from 2 other contractors. They were very professional, and estimated $5000 to replace the windows, (definitely in line with Pella costs) but said the siding needs to come off to determine the real leak source. We are not prepared to do this work yet. The siding would be an additional cost. They recommended we keep on caulking heavily around the leaking windows for the time being. We plan on painting and caulking the hardi plank in this area in the spring. We will then see if leaks continue. This is supposedly a new home (Nov. 2010), so the problems we have had with inferior construction are much more than expected.

Installation on time. Looks great. Had a slight problem with them policing metal shards laying around when the job was complete. They were also to install a small downspout to hide the cables from the dish on the roof. I had to call them back to get that done.

Excellent work-had a couple of small problems on door installation but were quickly fixed and we are happy with their work-Their installation folks are great-also I had gutter shutter installed on my lower level-they work great-No more climbing ladders to get out debris-Will have more gutter shutters installed on upper level installed in the Spring.
