Absolute Asphalt

I met with Brian, the owner sometime in late April or early May. He quoted me a price to asphalt my driveway that was reasonable but said it would be the middle of June before he could do the work. He called a few days later and gave me a date of 6/15. I took the day off work and about a week before the day to do the work, he left me a voice mail saying he could possibly do the work the next evening as he would be in my neighborhood that day but didn't know if he could do it on the 15th. I called him back the next day and explained I had already taken the 15th off and had been waiting more than a month. He was rude and very curt and informwd ne there was nothing he could do about it. I was not happy about this, to say the least. Then the next day he left me another voice mail saying he would definitely not be able to do my driveway and that I might want to find someone else.

It went very well with detailed estimate with multiple options. I was contacted when there was a one day weather delay and on the day it was scheduled, they showed up on time and completed the work by lunch. I was very happy with this contractor as they act grateful for your business instead of "put out" and stay in contact to let you know progress and scheduling. I am very happy as a customer and the driveway looks great.

They showed up in the morning and got right to work. They leveled the driveway then paved it. The whole job only took about 2.5 hours. They were friendly and very efficient. Communication with Brian was great. We highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future when we need our driveway sealed.

I found Absolute Asphalt on Angie's List. Brian and his crew did an outstanding job! I would highly recommend their services. I plan to have them seal coat my driveway later this year.

Brian & his crew removed and repaved a section of our driveway that had been repaved by another company, whose work resulted in a swale. In cold weather, water accumulated in the swale would freeze, which created a safety issue. The original company was willing to repave but said the result would be the same. Brian felt his company could improve the situation and did. They did a top quality job; were able to do the work sooner that originally expected and we've had no problem with the driveway

It went great. I was away the day they did the work. They removed old landscaping timbers, removed old gravel, steamrolled the old drive and laid down 3" of asphalt. Looks great. Love having a REAL driveway. Highly Recommend. The only downside was that I had to schedule them way in advance. But the result was worth the wait. They were the third company I consulted. One was busy, the other wanted 3x as much for the same work.

They replied quickly, and I found out later, referred me to Seal This!, but they also told me: "...I looked at the video of the driveway and it looks in to bad of condition for just sealer to help. Sealer will basically just restore the color back to black. Looks like it needs to be repaved. If you are interested in a free quote for that scope of work I can set that up." My driveway is in great shape and in no way needs to be repaved.

They promptly emailed me stating they were not taking on new residential seal coating customers at the present time. Nice quick response. I just wanted to let the Angie's List community be aware they were not taking on certain jobs.

Absolute was very prompt and professional. The communication was excellent. They were very punctual. Brian called me twice from the job site to clear up any questions I may have had since I was not present when the job was performed. Finished product was excellent

He was easy to work with. He arrived on time and did what he said he would do. I had asked him to come back for a second estimate because I wanted to change the perimeters. He did this right away. I felt that the price was fair and I liked him the best.

Great team and management! That said, the crack repair that they put down did not cure after 72 hours (guidance was to stay off for 48) so I expect that they will be coming out to fix it since I now have tire marks at specific locations on my driveway. I was suprised that they only used a liquid crack filler vs. something a bit more sturdy since this is what had been done by a previous provider. I also think the filler may have needed more time to cure before they sprayed the sealant but that could also be due to the size of the crack or how big it was below! I will leave that up to the experts! The other real issue could be the temperature drop on the evening after the work (~27 degree) as that was not expected. Will follow up once I have resolution! ---Follow Up---- Got a call from Brian and they are coming over tomorrow to fix things. Once again...great customer service and would recommend them! Just a victim of bad weather and this happens! --Final Entry---- The team came over and "fixed" the issue but it just did the same thing again after I stayed off it for a longer period of time. Brian refunded me the costs of the seal ($100). In the end, not a positive experience as a couple of times I mentioned that this had not happened last time with another provider. I asked if this was possibly a material issue as the other provider had actually used a mix of asphalt to fix the problem and it held for 2 years. The answer I received was" "Well maybe you should work with them". In the end, I found someone who knew what they were doing but also had a better customer service attitude. I had that provider rip up the old driveway and put in 3 inches of new gravel/3 inches of compacted asphalt (plus they cut my curb and fixed by broken concrete footer at the garage). I will be writing a review of this person shorty but what started out as positive experience with what was supposed to be an "excellent" provider on Angie's List turned into somewhat of a negative one for me so I took my business elsewhere.

They had to reschedule due to a conflict, but rescheduled for an earlier day! Came on time and went right to work, needed extra asphalt, but stayed true to estimate. Absolutely great job! Wonderful to have hired, great experience

They were easy to reach. Polite, professional. Gave us a date for the service and an estimate which is what we paid. The showed up on time and did a great job. I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

Brian from Absolute Asphalt was really easy to work with. I initially called his office and Roxane helped by schedule an estimate. Brian came out on the appointed day and before he left gave me a quote for the job which I thought was reasonable, so I accepted. Roxane then scheduled me for a installation day (about a month out) and she then called me the day before to remind me the crew would be coming. Brian and the guys showed up right on schedule and the whole thing was completed in about 3 hours. They were very polite and efficient and I would recommend them.

Everything went great. Returned initial call, showed up for estimate (Brian, proprietor). He measured the area and provided an estimate several thousand below other estimates. He and his crew showed up early on the day of paving, and they were done by late morning. Everyone was polite.

Brian and his crew did an excellent job. His fleet descended on my block and within a few hours were done. It was like watching an amazing choreographed paving dance. The driveway looks great. Roxanne was wonderful with updates by phone and always returning phone calls promptly - no long waits. Superb customer service!

They responded quickly when I requested an estimate to get our driveway fixed. They came out and gave us a reasonable estimate. They were there within a week to complete the project and did an excellent job.

When I first called, he came out and was very good about explaining the work. He wanted to do some "stamping". I called the office and the receptionist was very nice & gave me 3 addresses where I could go and check out what stamping looked like. I called Brian and decided to go ahead and move forward with the stamping (the paving itself was $975, the remainder of the $1750 was for stamping.) The crew was right on time, the work was done in a timely manner and he finished right on time. They were easy to work with and very professional. Brian was a very nice person and worked very well with me. My neighbor was interested in doing something similar to what I had done (though she had a larger area, it was a little bit more expensive then what she had wanted to pay.) I had to leave before the work was finished, and I meant to ask him how long the work would last, but didn't get a chance to since I wasn't home. They cleaned up after themselves, too. I would use Absolute Asphalt in the future if I needed to. It was a good experience.

They did as good job and completed the work quickly. I would use them again.

Brian, with Absolute Asphalt, provided an initial estimate in July 2013. I called in February 2014 and Brian said he would stand by the initial estimate. I invited two (2) other companies to provide a quote. One offered a quote slightly lower than Absolute, however I heard some negative information on them. The other company took several days to return my call and could not visit my home to provide an estimate for several more days. I chose Absolute because of their high ratings. I thought I would have to wait several months before getting my driveway done. Brian scheduled the installation when there was a break in the weather. He prepped the driveway on day 1, laid down the asphalt on day 2 and I was driving on it the evening of day 3. I could not be more pleased with the appearance and Brian's professionalism. I highly recommend Absolute Asphalt. They are very deserving of their high ratings. I am a very satisfied customer.

Everything looks great. The company is popular -- we signed quote on October 23 and entered their backlog, team forecasted about 6 weeks. But wet conditions pushed the date to December 20. We were communicated with appropriately via email and phone, however. The team arrived at the time they said, with two dump trucks, hopper paver factor, skid steer, concrete saw, roller tractor, plate compactor, and five workers who clearly worked together many times. The owner Brian Rodill was onsite the entire time, answered my questions, and avoided cutting a fiberoptic line that ran right next to the drain trench. All old asphalt was removed from the site. Dirt and rock in the cup-de-sac was blown or swept. Job took about 3.5 hours, arrived at 8:30 and left by 12:00noon.

Brian and his crew did a wonderful job. i could just say "ditto" to the prior review. i'm not sure about price being competitive, as we didn't obtain a second estimate. Crew showed up on time, cleaned up afterwards and we are extremely pleased with the results. Looking forward to having them come back in the spring to seal the driveway. Thank you!

I picked Absolute Asphalt to repair my driveway after reading all the good reviews of this firm here on Angie's List. I don't know the first thing about what is fair and reasonable when it comes to driveway repair, so I depended on the opinions of others and I was completely happy with my decision. I think my driveway looks great and once the asphalt has cured, I will be contacting Absolute Asphalt in the spring to come and seal it. I was "absolutely" satisfied with Absolute Asphalt.
