"As I expressed my apologizes yesterday. yes the route was turned around, however there were NO additional transports added to this trip when Scott pulled out. Had Scott not run into the bad weather that he did, you pet would have been delivered on time regardless of the direction of the route. Yes, he did run into weather, there were two other pets scheduled to get off and the driver could not get there due to flooding. As far as communication, we have always left this up to the client to contact the driver once a day. As the driver is dealing with traffic, weather, caring for the pets, driving, and dealing with their own personal needs on the road. Most clients email or call and leave a message, of which when the driver gets stopped, they call or text the client back. My apologizes again for Scott's lack of communication. As stated he is our newest driver and obviously I need to school him more on communicating better with his clients. As far as the Health Certificate is concerned, we are more than happy to mail a copy back to the client, we've done that on a number of occasions, upon request. Section 2.34 (2) (e) of the Animal Welfare Act state the health certificate shall accompany the pet while in transit Section (f) states that these documents shall be maintained for record for three years and shall be available for inspection upon request. But most important this is a regulation that Jill and myself have instituted for Precious Pets Transport Service, LLC regardless of any laws. Should any pet owner come back later and say their pet got sick or contracted something on one of our vehicles we can show that EVERY pet that enters our vans has been seen by a vet. If we gave the interstate health certificates back to the owners upon arrival at destination then we have NO proof the pets getting on the vehicle were healthy. This leaves our entire company, drivers, and everything we spent 12 years building open for a lawsuit. Jill and myself's intent is to protect every pet on our vehicle and the Health Certificate does just that. Yes we maintain them in the office once the driver comes off their trip. As stated we are happy to send a copy upon request but the original stays with us. Airlines keep the health certificates for their records, we are no different. Again, I am sorry the rain caused a flood and caused Scott to be late. I am sorry Scott did not communicate as we expect, We will educate Scott on proper communication. As we grow as a company we look for drivers that truly love the pets, this is our most important role. Every now and then we miss the 100% mark for timing and communication, especially with new drivers. This is always been due to weather, or a major breakdown, NEVER because we just keep on booking jobs and sending the drivers to other locations before delivering."
