They installed 2 toilets which I supplied, charged me $850. Had a bad valve which leaked ruined my ceiling in the Fam Room in the basement. Charged my daughter $1500 to install a bathroom vanity. My son-in-law 2 guys stand around an yak so they could over charge them. I am in Constrution Sales in the area. I feel so screwed, capable of doin all this work but no time. Looking for a referral Michael’s?? NOPE. Bad reviews YEP

Perfect! The serviceman arrived promptly and got the job done. The price was also a lot less than my husband paid for a similar repair on a property in Charlottesville.

Michael's Plumbing in my opinion is very unethical. They keep sending me bills for a service already paid for, adding finance charges and "truck charges" as the months have dragged on. I have mailed them a copy of the cancelled check, faxed and now certified mail, but they never apply the check to the balance and keep billing me. I have offered to meet face to face and left messages with their service to try to resolve this but they have not called me back. I have filed complaints with the BBB, American Home Shield, Attorney Generals Office and contacted the Harrisonburg Civil department for further action.

Description of Work: came to inspect 25 year old toilets (4) and make sure they were working properly before holiday guests arrived. Did not replace anything because he said all was good, but suggested newer model toilets when and if we ever replace.

They responded quickly (only ones that would when we called - Sunday). Price was high but that was to be expected based on how quickly we needed them. They did complete the job.

Good. Leak was repaired.
Description of Work: Main water line was leak. Provider predicted that lead was connection with the city meter. Dug out yard to get to spot, confirmed location of leak, changed clamp which was not loose.

The technician showed up promptly and was very polite and friendly. He spent an hour looking at the system and got it turned back on very quickly. But he couldn't pinpoint what caused the shut down. He also couldn't tell me how much the charge would be for the service. When I called and made the appt they couldn't or wouldn't tell me what their standard charge was. So it came as quite a shock when they charged me $130 for one hour of work! I've had the same service done before for only $80. Also, they were supposed to invoice me, but I haven't received one. However the charge is already on my card. I will not use them again because they were deceptive about their prices and their prices are ridiculously high!
Description of Work: I called Michael's because my heat pump had cut off during an ice storm. They got the system turned back on, but could not say for sure what caused the system to cut off.

We had an exterior hose bib that we needed to relocate. We contacted Michael's Plumbing and Heating and they scheduled and completed the job within 3 days of the initial phone call! The plumbing technician they sent (Mike) was professional and fast. He presented various different options in hardware to save us as much as possible. I can't say enough about how great he was. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone with plumbing needs in the Shenandoah Valley.

The workman arrived on time and was quite knowledgeable and friendly. He did a great job and was clean. We didn't have to pay immediately. A detailed bill arrived in the mail a week later.
Description of Work: I had trouble with how the water in my house flowed, some faucets were strong, some unbelievably strong and one non-existent. They assessed the system and found that the city water pressure was well over 100 lb, way too high. They installed a pressure regulator at the incoming line.

They were extremely helpful and explained everything in detail that they were doing and were extremely careful not to track in dirt or mud on my new carpeting. Two different teams of two each came on two separate days and worked the entire day. On the first day, all of the plumbing repairs were made and dishwasher installed, which had not been contracted and ended up costing me more than had I had Lowe's, where I bought it from, install it. Nonetheless, it was done correctly and efficiently. On the second day, the service manager called and asked if he could put off until the next day having another team come out because of two emergency plumbing calls of major leaks, including one in a school. He said if it was imperative he could send a team out later in the day, but then they would not be able to finish until the fourth day. Because we were not planning to move into this house for a couple of weeks and I still had considerable other work, primarily painting (Yeah, I should have gotten it done before the new carpeting, but I am good painter and don't make much of a mess.) and adjusting doors and replacing or removing light fixtures, which I also do myself), the delay really didn't make much difference, and though I had a contract price on most of the stuff, I knew I had a bargaining chip for other things I discovered I wanted them to do. On the third day, the second team called to say they would be on time, to ensure I would be there (a 10-mile drive from my previous home), and when they arrived they immediately assessed the work I had lined up and jumped in. While one disconnected the old hot water heater, the other began installing a new service line for the electric one. After finishing with the water heater, one began working on the garage ceiling, including replacing an entire 4-by-8-foot section, while the other began working on the walls in the laundry room and the garage. The ceiling and wall holes had been made either by a plumber looking for a leak for the previous owner or the bank which foreclosed on the home. All of the leaking faucets and commodes were the result of the home being empty for nearly two years and having all of the water drained from the system, allowing the rubber gaskets, seals and flushing mechanisms to dry rot. The guys really liked the house, and when I ran into them a couple of months later at my father's in law home (I had recommended Michael's to his wife, after she discovered a propane gas furnace vent/drain leak.), they asked if they could come by later in the week when they would be working in the neighborhood to check the house out with all the work done and furniture in (Plus, they wanted to see my new big flat screen 3-D television, which is simply amazing, in operation. The two new TVs I bought for the new house had been delivered and were sitting in boxes in the sunroom, where the appliances were stored until being installed.
Description of Work: Replaced shutoff valves and faucet interiors in kitchen and five bathroom sinks; replaced interior working parts and tank seals for four commodes; installed two interior shutoff valves with access panels for outdoor faucets; installed new access panels for three shower faucets; replaced gas hot water heater with electric one and new electric line to main breaker; removed old dishwasher and installed one I had purchased; checked and cleaned gas furnace and electric AC unit; and repaired five drywall areas, including texturing ceiling on two places, previous plumber or homeowner made looking for leaks that were never found.
