The Roofing Company

They are probably some of the only roofers in the area that deal with slate. However, they used a new technique on my porch where metal spikes show along the edge of the roof, which makes it look different than the main house. When I complained that they did not clean up the site well afterwards, the crew was sent out again by the company to clean the yard. I was then satisfied with how it was left.

their price instead of being 5000 dollars was like 15000 dollars so I didn't pursue them at all. There was a gentleman who was very knowledgeable. I had someone else do it for less.

Michael T. was our foreman and he and the men he worked with did an excellent job. I was kept informed of the progress and the work proceeded on schedule. It is over a year later now and the work has held up very nicely. Our third floor playroom once again provides a great space in which to relax. It is well insulated and ventilated and a pleasant environment. Everything was explained patiently and to our satisfaction. We are hiring this company to do additional work at our home this next week and are considering a kitchen remodel with them in the next year or so.

All went well. Explained to us that the place where there is a drip is NOT due to blockage but rather due to poor installation in original construction; re-installation would cost more than it would be worth.

We had a great experience with this company. We called about a roof leak into our soon to be Nursery. They came out and inspected, and gave us pricing for both just a fix to the immediate problem, and also what it would cost to completely replace the roof. (The roof would be in need of a complete replacing in the next 2 years anyway, so we were thinking about replacing the whole thing). They gave us 3 options for the roof, from the basic roof that meets all legal requirements, to the better, and best options. We chose the lowest. They replaced the entire roof in 1 day, cleaned up everything, and I was very happy with the results. My only caution is to think twice before using the company that they use for financing. We originally were going to, but there were multiple red flags and some misleading wording with the financing company and we decided to pay by check instead. Please though, do NOT hold this against the Roofing & Remodeling Co. they were completely trustworthy!

did roof repair around the stacks properly, failed to fix the roof leak at the edge of the roof where it joined the 2nd story, had a ¾" gap in the step flashing that was causing the problem that they did not find or correct. Installed bump outs improperly, they just slit the siding and installed flat little squares in the slits, no "bump out' at all. Had to have another contractor fix the leak and redo the bumpouts properly

Our house needed a new roof so we chose the company that offered the best warranty. ?But what we received in return were the best of the best as far as planners, workers, and materials go. ?Each part of the job was done in a professional and timely manner and looked great when it was completed. It has been almost five years now, and all still looks great. ?I hadn't written up the review because I didn't have the time before--and also I figured that everyone else had probably written rave reviews for them. ?Sometimes, though, people need to know when things still look good in the longer term. ?Thank you to everyone at The Roofing Company!

They did the roof a year ago and they didn't charge for the inspection this year. They were recommended on one of the news channels. They did quality work.

I have been less than happy with them. Some of the shingles were standing up, some standing down. They weren’t happy to go back up there and fix that. They seemed to have started the job and then left. They told me they would get it done in one day, but it took a week. I gave them the whole job to do the roof and the guttering and when I came back from work, they put a different colored gutter on it than the color of my house. They said unless you pay me for the whole job, I will take you to court. They told me I had to go by the paint and then they would come fix it, which they did however, they did a horrible job.

Chuck S expertly identified the leaking roof areas. Chuck was both very knowledgeable and courteous. He also did an excellent job matching the existing shingles on the main house. A weel later, the work crew showed up as scheduled, replaced the shingles/roof vent and there have been no further leaks to date. The work crew also did an exceptional clean up, all debris was removed.

Upon installation of the roof, but they did not inform us properly on our options. The option we went with has not been working out. When it rains, the water does not go into the gutters. It goes behind them. The company claims that they will fix it, but they are giving us the runaround on giving us the proposal. I keep calling them, and they never call me back. I haven't heard anything from them since.

Everything turned out well. They arrived on time, did a good job with the cap's installation, and acted professionally when at the house. They also cleaned up after themselves.

I felt as though they did an adequate job in a reasonable period of time, but there was nothing outstanding about the experience. Additionally, the work done with regards to the vents was sloppy.

The foreman came out with the technicians. They also stopped by in the middle of the project to inspect everything and at the end to make sure everything looks good.

They are average. What I didn't like was that I thought their process was pretty good. They had someone come out and said this is what we are going to do and we verified what we are going to do and we talked about all the stuff and we said yes this is what all it includes and then just before the work came out supervisor of the crews came out and we went over the work again and then reviewed it all and the crew came out and they all pack up their stuff to leave, they didn't tell me they were leaving and I just happened to go outside and they were all packed up to go and I said hey you guys didn't finish and then we had a big to do about work that was you know that I told they are performing about and they agreed about price and everything the guy that was there just didn't understand that and so that took a while and of course we did come back and they said we were supposed to do that and that is done and they have to do it, they will have to come back tomorrow so the crew left and so there was some discontinuity there and then they came back the next day and they finished up and they left without you know taking with me. I had no opportunity to look at the work before they left and the crew didn't communicate with me very well and they missed one of the areas that we are talked about earlier on. I wasn't too happy about that. I really would have difficultly using them again.

We had our act together. Does at look like a patch but all grand new everything looks the same. We knew what were doing.

They came out and went over the roof, then gave me a price, including all contingencies. They showed up when they said the would come, did the work, completed the job, and cleaned up. Absolutely no problems

Workers were friendly but mostly unable to communicate in English. Supervision was spread over several ongoing jobs, leaving fairly long periods we were unable to communicate with the workers. Not a problem however until the vent installation process. The result was less than a professional finished, smooth looking job. There was supposed to be a factory representative final inspection with accompanied by the warranty paperwook. I have not yet received those documents. I MUST EMPHASIZE THAT I FIND FAULT WITH THE VENT INSTALLATION AND FINISHED APPEARANCE OF THAT PART OF THE CONTRACT. THE ROUTINE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OLD SHINGLES, FELT AND PLYWOOD WITH NEW PRODUCT WAS ACCEPTABLE.

Excellent from the time of initial visit. Salesman looked at entire picture and not just one spot. Very thorough. Juan very responsive to mails & emails.

Prompt and courteous response. Estimate seems fair.

They came when promised, did the work quickly and cleaned up after they were done

I have a roof section that has a slope that not enough of an incline for a "normal" roof. I've had periodic leaks around new and previous skylights because the roof is a standard roof on that section. I called The Roofing Company for an estimate for repair. The gentleman arrived on time. He explained that the pitch is not steep enough for a standard roof, and that section could be replaced with different material or the area around the skylights could be patched. We requested a formal quote for both. They guy that came out said his printer in his van was not working, so he could not provide an estimate, but would send us one. A week later, I still had not heard back. I had to call the company and inquire about it. The tech called me back thereafter and he didn't seem very interested to have my business. I reminded him that I had not received anything in writing. He then replied something like "I told your wife that to replace the section would be about $5,000". I said thank you and ended the call. The tech didn't indicate if he would eventually send the quote, and I didn't think he was very intersted in the work in any case. I never received the quote, several weeks later as I write this review. This company replaced the skylights on this section several years ago, and corrected a leak in another section below this section. At no time during that past work did The Roofing Company inform me that the section needed to be addressed. The past work was good quality and responsiveness at that time was excellent. Not so in this case. The work will be done by another company for quite a bit less. The competitor has been responsive and has an "A" Angie's List rating.

For the most part good. Pictures were taken & inspected & fixed. No leaks.

Obviously The Roofing Company has done a lot of good work to earn such a high rating on Angus List. Unfortunately I was one that fell through the cracks and did not have a good experience. The communication was non-existent and the salesmen admitted I fell through the cracks. I was actually told by the salesmen that the employee in charge of the schedule had cancer and was in treatment. I could not believe he went there. I went to their office to drop off paperwork and find out what was going on. I was told they would email me when they had an idea of when I could get put on the schedule. I never received an email so wrote a nasty email on their general web site. That got the salesmen to call me. He said the email must have gone to my junk folder. I told him I had been watching my junk mail because I was expecting the email. He said I must have a block on my junk email that would not let it go through. He asked if I felt better now that I knew it was my email settings and not The Roofing Company. I was born at night but not last night. I know BS when I hear it and they never resent any of these emails he claims where sent. They insisted I give them my home phone number so I did so reluctantly and told them to never use it because I do not monitor that phone it is for salesmen.I told them repeatedly they needed to call me on my cell phone. When I was expecting a call and didn't get one I would check all the voice mails on my home phone and there would be one from The Roofing Company who promised me they would use my cell phone only. They took three weeks longer then I was told because of non communication not the weather. Then it went from a one day job, I own a townhouse, to a two day job. I purchased a very expensive roof for a townhouse, $7,200.00 and there was even an additional change order of $405.00 for something the salesmen thought would be no problem. I paid $7,600.00 for a townhouse roof. I kind of expected some service for such an exorbitant price. I received none. At the end of the second day I was told they were leaving an employee to finish up a little painting. The gentlemen did not seem to know what he was doing so after a few hours I called the project manager and told him he was still there and I was not sure how he was now painting in the dark. I was told it was O.K.. The next thing I know there are 4 employees from the original crew that showed back up at 7:00pm and it was now raining.They all went up on the roof and started pounding. The weather turned really bad and was pouring rain with high winds. Once again I called the project manager to voice my concern about his people being on my roof in such weather in the dark. I was told they had to finish up one small thing and everything was just fine. They did not leave my roof until after 9:00pm in a now driving rain storm. I was never given an explanation but one has to wonder what was done so wrong that they had to put employees lives at risk to fix. Finally I paid $379.00 for a one year maintenance program. The salesmen explained that twice a year they would come out and inspect the roof and the exterior of the house. They would clean off the roof and clean out the gutters. I was told they would even do simple repairs like caulking windows and other small jobs that they could get done with what they had in the two hours allotted. Like I said earlier I own a townhouse so the gutters are way up there and I thought this should be a good program for me. When the gentleman showed up he was wearing nice cloths and had no intensions of cleaning or repairing anything. He said the program really only cover the inspection. So I paid $379.00 for them to inspect my house and drum up more work so they could make more money off of me. I was extremely upset. I was lied to and I either wanted the roof and gutters cleaned or my money back. He saw how upset I was so he did clean off the roof and cleaned out the gutters and threw everything off onto my front and back patios. He said he did it as a favor only. My son and I had to bag it all that night and take it to the bulk pick location due to HOA rules. I was very unhappy to put it nicely. Expectably since the stuff he threw off the back went on my brand new condensing unit. Do you know how hard it is to get pine needles out of a condensing unit? I went with The Roofing Company because of the high rating on Angie's List. I wish I had had as good of an experience as everyone else did, but I did not. I would never use The Roofing Company again and all my friends, family and co-workers know this.

The Roofing and Remodeling Company was the second company I called for a roofing estimate to replace our twenty year old roof that was beginning to leak. The previous company did a walk-around the outside of the house with a tape measure and did "guess-timates on the dimensions of my roof and gave me three estimates (good, better, best) ranging up to about $8000. No inspection of the roof or anything else. I then called The Roofing Company and they sent out Earl Holben to do an estimate. Earl spent over an hour inspecting my roof, taking pictures of problem areas, going up into the attic checking for leaks and damage from the inside and getting accurate measurements. We then sat down and went over all the options for installing a new roof. I eventually went with his near the top estimate which included adding the edge vents to allow the ridgevent to work properly. My house had no soffit vents and only gable vents. His top estimate added custom copper pipe collars which was a little over the top for me. I was told it would probably be about five weeks before they could start the job. They actually started in about two. Sandra Landers was the project manager and did a wonderful job. She met with us and explained all that was going to be happening and verified the contract details. The crew showed up early on a Thursday morning and went straight to work. They placed tarps on the ground around the house and over shrubs. They brought their own trailer to haul off the construction waste so we didn't have to put up with a waste container that a waste company would have to pick up later. By Thursday afternoon they were about 90% complete. The main house was done. Only the sunroom remained. They were back the next day and finished by around noon. The clean up was excellent. In fact my lawn, driveway and patio actually looked cleaner and neater when they finished than before they started. The only damage done was one piece of vinyl siding got nicked by an errant piece of roofing caught by the wind. Sandra herself came back a few days later with a replacement piece of siding and fixed that. All-in-all, they did an excellent job which I'm very satisfied with. I highly recommend The Roofing and Remodeling Company.
