The Roofing Company

It turned out great. I enjoyed working wit them. They did what they said they would do. They did a little extra to tell the truth. The found a few things and fixed it without any charge. I appreciated that. They have a minimum charge. He said the good news was that it was inside the minimum but the minimum was not cheap because of their insurances. I walked away happy and so did they. They had to find the area that was leaking. The found the real problem and they showed it to me.

I had a very negative experience during the estimate which resulted in my choosing another company to perform the work. The worker who came to perform the estimate was very condescending and did not seem to want to work with me (instead wishing to speak with my husband). This continued even after my husband made it clear that I knew exactly what work we wanted done on the house. He treated me somewhat like an incompetent woman incapable of providing information on home improvements desired. Even the written estimate had errors in regards to what work I wanted completed on the house, indicating that he did not pay particular attention to my requests.

Their policy is $275 for an estimate, to be applied to the work, if selected. I was also advised not to expect someone to come out quickly. They are busy and would take some time to get an estimator out there. This the second time, last was 5 years ago, that I called them for a potenial job. Same sort of thing. There are too many other good roofing companies out there to have to deal with this.

I was happy with their service. They were very good and fast. We had a leak, so it was important that they worked quickly. They had to do a little bit more than what the original contract was for. They were done the work within a day.

Company reps arrived, introduced themselves, got right to work. Work completed in 1 day. Cleaned up after themselves. Very professional and friendly.

I wound up using another roofing company from Williamsburg. They gave me the lowest bid, but I wasn't impressed based on response and communication. I used a mid-level-priced company with better service.

The crew came on time but they did not speak English or very little English. They could not get the dump truck up my hill so they put their trash on a tarp on the driveway. I was concerned about the mess but they cleaned it up minus a few nails. The roof looks great and I like the color. They finished in one day but had left the dump truck and some supplies/tools in my yard for 3 days.

they gave us a detailed estimate and performed the work as described. Very good on communication and clean up. Excellent work.

Did not select this contractor. Priice was not cpompetitive when compared against several other bids for same degree and quality of work. Contractor was inflexible and would not negotiate on anything. Most important is high pressure sales tactic used in a "good-better-best" menu presented with proposal to push customers to most expensive job. Good or basic is obviously insufficient to do a proper job. Better is middle of road but leaves out things sales estimator indicates are essential for proper re-roofing job leaving customer with best (most expensive) as only option if customer wants job done right. "Best" was several thousand above comparable job by other highly rated class A contactors. Company sends out surveys on how did you like our estimating, etc. but fails to respond to any negative comments. And, unlike competitors that offer some level of discuount, TRC offers only a $100 discount which, on a job proposed at nearly $20,000 is laughable. The TRC marketing director, like the survey staff fail to respond to questions or concerns. My opinion - this company may do good quality work, but it seems to have excessive overhead costs from back office folks who do not respond to customer concerns or inform their managers of negative comments. That's what - IMHO - makes TRC's costs so high as to be non-competitive in this market. I would neither use nor recommend them. There are comparable competitors who will provide more value for less cost than TRC. End of the day I chose one of those competitors and got a great job from them.

Arrived on time. For the estimate, took pictures of the problem and then showed them to me. For the actual work, I had to leave unexpectedly prior to work being finished and they called me when the work was done. I called the offie later with a credit card number. Not only was the work done well and on time, but I was surprised to find a company willing to trust that I would pay later.

It went very well! They were a very professional company to work with. Once the windows were in, they were installed quickly. They worked efficiently to complete the project within the estimated time. I plan to have them out again soon for another project. I would highly recommend them.

We did have a problem with the siding but they came back and fixed it without any problem. Their price may be slightly higher but you get what you pay for. They were responsive and flexible.

They were contracted through another company. The price paid to them was out of the payment through another company that contracted them. The price was reasonable. They were punctual and started the work even when I was not at home. They called me before hand and told me that I didn?t have to be there. They worked on the roof and finished before I got back home. They were very professional and quick. I haven?t had any problems since they have done the work. They fixed the drain as well as the plumbing pipes from my kitchen and bathrooms. We haven?t had any problems or leaks with the drains too. They didn?t leave a mess and you couldn?t even tell that somebody actually did work on my roof.

Zero worked performed, because the company failed to give me an estimate, after I had spent an hour of my time speaking with their estimator while at my property. Very frustrating.

Work finished on time. Cleaned up every evening. This company is great and the care.

At the beginning, we merely had the usual delays and minor mistakes. For example, we knew that there needed to be some repair work done on the shed, but it wasn't listed in the original contract. The delays came when we were told it would be two weeks before they would do the job, but then it became became 2-3 weeks after the gable vents had been delivered. We signed a contract the end of September and the work was completed by early November. The problems began during the storm of November '09. The gable vents leaked, staining two ceilings. It took a month to get somebody to come look at it, then it took another month for somebody else to come look at to figure out how to fix the problem and how to fix our ceilings. The problem turned out to be that the original installation wasn't caulked properly. Then it took another 3 months to schedule a time to paint the ceilings. By this time we were tired of dealing with the whole thing, so we agreed that all they would have to do is prime one ceiling. We would take care of painting that ceiling, since we were going to repaint that room anyway. We decided to ignore the other ceiling. We scheduled it another month in advance, and we told them it would have to be done that day, since we were going to be painting. April 5 arrived, and we got a phone call saying that they were running late and wouldn't be able to do it. We gave up and primed it ourselves.

Everything went fine. They kept in contact with us. They cleaned up everything. They didn't kill my flowers, like some other people had. They were on the expensive side but they did the best job.

They were on time. They used Google images to make a determination of my roof. I didn?t have any problems with the way they presented themselves. They were a little expensive, though.

I had a couple of problems with them and that is why I didn't hire them. They missed appointments and the guy that came out was kind of cocky and I didn't feel comfortable with them. The guy was looking at the roof and I was inside of the house and he got a personal phone call. He was saying that it was a nightmare roof and he really didn't want to do it. He was kind of a jerk. He missed the day that he was supposed to come out with the bid. He called and said he couldn't make it that day at the time that he was supposed to be here. He came out the next day and he was 1/2 hour late. I was not terribly impressed. I?m sure it is a good company, but the guy was just an idiot.

I haven't had the time to initiate it right now. They came out and gave me the quote in June 2009. They have done some work for me before.

It was fine, and it is not leaking anymore. It was difficult to schedule because of the weather, but that was not their fault. I was happy with them.

It turned out acceptable. The work was done by outsiders, and no one inside the company came to look at it. They did call me a month later to make sure it was alright. Everything looks okay, but I would have appreciated if someone from the inside had come out to inspect the work before or when the project was completed.

Very pleased overall. Roof leak was difficult to find because it only leaked when wind driven rain coming from a certain direction. Leak discovered and fixed. Original contractor put gutters on the building that were undersized for the amount of roof area. Water was overflowing from every rain. Larger gutters were installed and that has taken care of the problem.

It was fine. They did good work and I have no complaints. I would use them again.
