McDonalds Garden Center - Hampton

Excellent job!

I've been using them for the last 4 or 5 years.

Appt. with "Jeff" 11/12/2016-showed up as scheduled at 9am (no confirmation call beforehand). Jeff was professional and had some good preliminary ideas. Never heard from him after that. I had his card, called his stated phone approx. 8 weeks later to determine status - left voice mail- no call back . Subsequently called landscaping dept. - young lady who answered phone took my info and stated it would be forwarded to landscaping manager. 2 weeks later still no response fro anyone at Mc Donald's . I am moving on to another company.

It went well! It took a little while for them to get my project drawn up but the time of year is a busy one and it worked out well for me that way.

Called McDonald Landscapes to schedule an appointment to have a consultant come out to our house to look over our backyard and provide a landscaping proposal; we also had a drainage problem I wanted resolved, and requested a solution for that. I had to wait 2 weeks for the appointment, but understood that I had called when their busy season was starting (early April). Susan Marie Rhodes came out on 23 Apr and looked over the backyard; she was on time and professional, and talked about some ideas she had. She also listened to our concerns with a section of the yard that always stayed wet/muddy, and had an idea for redirecting the water from our downspouts. She left me her card, and said she'd get back to me when she had the proposal ready. After discussing her ideas for the drainage problem with my husband, I sent her an email letting her know he didn't think her idea would resolve the issue, and also asked when she thought we'd be able to get together with her to see the final proposal and discuss it. She emailed me back with one sentence saying she'd pass along the problem with the drainage to her drainage specialists and let us know; she did not answer the question on when we could get meet again. That was the last I heard from her; no emails or phone calls since (over 30 days later); so we've basically shelved the idea of doing any landscaping in the backyard for the year, and will select a more responsive and professional landscaping company in the future. Very disappointing experience. We had used McDonald's Garden Center in Hampton over 10 years ago for our front yard landscaping (with Tom Olds), and had been so pleased with how that went that we returned to them for this project...I guess things have changed.

Susan seemed very knowledgeable and we really liked her ideas on how to thin our beds making use of existing shrubbery. She seemed to understand what needed to be done to trim our trees and shrubs. As far as the water issues in the back yard, Susan wants to bring out her boss to review. Unfortunately we have not received any quotes from McDonalds. They have not as yet come out to look at the drainage issues. I spoke to Susan about 2 weeks ago and requested a quote just for the bed work. I have yet to hear from her.

I contacted McDonalds to get an estimate on landscaping that I wanted done in the front and back yards. They came out and talked to us but never contacted us again. I was very disappointed because they did our landscaping 20 years ago when the house was built.

They were polite and professional. The mulch was excellent. They also have a good nursery.

It never went, they never called back.

They were good and economical.
