MC Peters Cabinet Shop

Called for estimates of a kitchen cabinet package. The gentleman who came to do the measurements was very pleasant, and invited us to come to the shop to look at "semi-custom" options. We were very impressed with the quality and asked for an estimate of cost for each of two styles. The next day a woman called me with the estimate for each style; the price seemed really good, only a reasonable amount more than box-store cabinets; I asked detailed questions making sure that all components were included with each package, and she assured me they were. When I called to place the order; the man who had taken the measurements answered and said that neither of the prices she gave me (one for one style of cabinets and one for the other) was the price for the full kitchen and that the price would basically be twice as much as she had said. When I challenged him on it, pointing out that I had discussed the details of the order with her he told me that she was confused but that because she was a part-owner he could not keep her from working and taking calls. Needless to say I did not use their services.

The actual work on the countertop surface and edges is fabulous. It looks as if it was that size and shape from the beginning. The work had to be rescheduled several times because of scheduling conflicts, sometimes at the last minute. I understood my job was very small, and therefore not as high a priority but rather than being done by Thanksgiving the counter barely made it back in before Christmas. The only disappointment is that although He had agreed they would make a splash from the leftover material (and there was a lot of material removed), the men in the shop did not use the material efficiently in making the new edge but went with just an easy cut out of the removed material not leaving any for a splash (except a tiny 1" tall along part of it). That was a really big disappointment because this is against a wall with no overhead cabinets so running a tile splash will look really awkward. Unfortunately when they came to install was the first I learned they had changed the design so there was nothing to be done.

Love all the work and would recommend them.

There is no one I know that does better work than this guy. He took pride in what he did for me, and he is an artist with wood. The design that was discussed exceeded what I wanted. I didn t mind the cost because you should see the cabinets that he built for me. I don t think that there is anyone better anywhere.
