This was an Angie's List big deal. The contractor did a great job.

It went really well. I used it after the dateline because I was really busy. I called him a week before the dateline and he was busy, so he agreed to extend and let me use whenever I wanted and still honor the price and service. That was very nice of him. They came twice; the first time, he suggested the color and told me what the services would be. But then, as I said, it took me a long time before I used it, so he came again the before just to see everything was okay. The time was good, they were very professional, left everything clean, and the service was done really well. The walls look really good. I had to pay double the price because I had another room done at the same price.

It went okay. They were giving costs that I did not expect and I think the service was pretty slow. But they were punctual.

It was simple, quick, and a stop gap until we decide whether to redo the trim in the next couple of years. Nice guy, professional, was able to fit me in before the coupon expired. We had discussed some caulking/repair, but it looked like a few areas were over looked. A few days later I noticed a few spots with thin paint and some splatter on the deck, but it was just around the doorway and something that was easy for me to take care of on my own so I didn't bother calling. Some of the issues might have also been because I wasn't on site--spouse was home but didn't really actively talk to them, just answered questions. I gave a B for quality and overall, but the price was right and I would definitely use him again if I were around to help clarify and ask questions in person, as well as clear out the paint area. Required an extra hour of time, but gave a fair rate on the extra hour given it was somewhat unexpected and last minute.

Nick was one of 3 estimates we received. We were impressed with his expertise and it was clear that his team had been working together for a long time. That sold us. He was very flexible and accommodating when we set up the painting dates. His team was on time, very clean, courteous and respectful. They did a wonderful job and used quality paint. The team are true professionals who obviously take pride in their work. Hire them, you won't be disappointed. We are recommending them to all of our family and friends in the area!

I was very satisfied with NJK Painting Services, from start to finish. I made initial contact via email, asking for a phone call back to discuss the project I was hoping to have done under the Big Deal coupon ($249 for 8 hours of painter service). The owner, Nick, call me promptly and set up a time to preview the work. He showed up on time and indicated the bedroom could be completed within the time covered by the Big Deal coupon. although I paid a bit extra to have the two closets in the room painted as well. Naturally, he also asked about any other painting I might have wanted done, and I did have several other projects that I had him quote. His pricing was very competitive as he had an empty week between two large projects that he was trying to fill, and I was willing to have the work done in that week. Nick came with two other painters (Mark and Edwin - his regular crew) at the agreed-upon time and completed all of the work over a three-day period. The quality of their work was very good, and Nick went "above and beyond" in a couple of instances. For example, a wooden curtain pole that had been installed in my den proved to be extremely difficult to re-install because it really was a bit too wide. As I did not have a saw on the premises, Nick offered to bring his chop saw the next day and reduce the width of the pole a bit - which he did. He also painted a couple of additional small items (a door frame, an attic access panel) at no additional charge. He also offered to hang a painting on the upper wall of the two-story entryway that had not previously been there. Nick, Mark, and Edwin all were pleasant to deal with and clearly took pride in doing quality work. I am happy to recommend them to other Angie's List members.

I got a lower bid from another contractor so did not end up using this big deal.

Everything went smoothly....he was there when he said he would be and the work was completed when estimated. Paint job was superb!

If you want a written estimate and contract you might as well ask for it upfront. If you are satisfied with a recommendation from your real estate agent and without other paper, he should work out fine. Long on experience, he should do a good job,

Nick has done several painting jobs for us over the past seven years, including both external and internal jobs. Each job was done to the highest quality and within his quoted estimate. On this last job, Nick had some challenges with removing wallpaper and repairing some water damage. We called Nick and set up an appointment for him to come by and do an estimate. Once we agreed upon the price, we picked a start date. Nick and his co-worker showed up at the appointed date and time and got right to work. The prep work in the kitchen was done in about two days and the painting was completed in about a day and a half. We went with a color scheme that included contrasting color walls. The line between our colors is perfect. The master bedroom had more involved repair work and took about three days to prepare for painting. Also, we changed the paint color in middle of the work after one coat of paint had been put on. Nick was able to change the color without an issue and the painting was completed in two days. Clean-up was very thorough as well. We have some thoughts for some more painting next year and wouldn't hire anyone else but Nick to do the work.
