Custom Brick and Stone

Even though Johnny McLaughlin claims to have 25 (sometimes 35) years of experience as a bricklayer, he only performed half of the work required to repair our sidewalk. It should be noted that our job was one of the simplest required of any brick mason. Not only did he fail to tamp the sand, he also failed to screed a smooth surface prior to re-placement of the pavers. When asked about his sub-standard workmanship, Mr. McLaughlin replied that he found it unfair of us to expect work in accordance with industry standards; i.e., we had not specified tamping or proper screeding prior to the time he began work! The customer is not charged with telling a contractor each step necessary to complete any given job. We have never told a plumber how to fix a leaking faucet or a painter how to place his ladders, and we don't believe we must tell a bricklayer how to perform a basic repair. Putting aside his many excuses, the fact remains that Mr. McLaughlin did not complete the job for which he was paid. BUYER BEWARE!

Johnny visualizes every detail and then constructs a masterpiece! He is friendly, hardworking and very neat with no client cleanup. A customer is very hard to please if he finds fault with the stonework!
