 + -1 moreThe gentleman who came to our house was very nice and informative. He was 10 minutes early and apologized for being early. He was extremely professional. They stated it would take approximately 2 weeks to come in, but they never called us to let us know it would not be 3 weeks. We called them, and they said 'oh yes, they are here. We can come by next week." We did not have any blinds and were using towels in our windows for privacy, so we were eager to get them. Anyway, they came the following week, about 30 minutes late, but did the job in less than a hour and cleaned up their mess. We would definitely recommend them, especially because of the lifetime warranty on the blinds and the selection they offered.
Description of Work: They provided approximately 20 white blinds to our house.

Description of Work: The shutters are wonderful, and the installation was fast and easy. Our only issue was a very significant delay in having the shutters shipped from the manufacturer in China to the US and ultimately to Sunrise Shutters. We were originally told it would be about 4 weeks to get our shutters, and it ended up being about 10 weeks.

 + -1 moreWe could not be happier with our new blinds & plantation shutters! Everything is beautiful! One of the things that we liked about Jamie & his company was how everything was priced. There was one price for every shade, no matter what options were included (i.e., the shades could be opened from the top or the bottom). Many companies would charge extra for these options, but with Jamie there was one price for everything! Bottom line, Jamie was very responsive when I needed him & I could not be happier with how things went! I picked Sunrise Shutters because of all the positive reviews on Angie's List. In this case I have to say "Thank You, Angie's List!"
Description of Work: Jamie the owner came to our home showed us a variety of options that would be best for our home. He was very patient while we decided on the blinds/shutters that were right for our house & his prices were very fair. When the blinds & shutters came in, his employees came & installed everything.

 + -1 moreDescription of Work: Provided shutters for a new bedroom. Jamie came out and measured while the bedroom was under construction. He had to jump over construction material and work around the carpenters. He accomplished this without a complaint. He helped me to make excellent choices in the size of the shutters (4 inches), color (white), and appropriate cut out around the french doors. When the shutters arrived, he installed them, gave me some tips on how to open them if I wanted to open the windows and was extremely professional in every way. The only slight complaint I have was that the shutters took longer to arrive than I anticipated - approximately 2 weeks. Any angst I had disappeared once the shutters were installed. Jamie is a true professional and I will definitely use him again. Incidentally, his price was half the price quoted by another shutter company in Charlottesville.

 + -1 moreSee above. Jamie came and provided some outstanding options. Three weeks later he returned to install the new shades. We couldn't be happier with the product.
Description of Work: We needed some standard blockout shades for a small room. We also needed a creative solution in our sunroom. Additonally, we asked Jamie if he could repair some existing window blinds that we inherited when we bought out house. His product is excellent, his prices are unbelievably competitive, he customer service is amazing.......I would not hire anyone else if I needed a new window treatments/blinds. While he could not repait the old window blinds that were broken, his pricing for replacements was too good to pass up and they look amazing.

Jamie Miller, president of Sunrise Shutters, arrived at our house promptly (he was, in fact early, but called to see if that was okay), bringing multiple samples with him. We already knew what we wanted: light-blocking, simple pull-down shades to replace our ancient venetian blinds. Jamie immediately suggested perfect solutions for each window. He measured quickly (these are standard size windows) and wrote up an order. We gave him a 50% deposit. He returned in three weeks with another member of his firm - they had all of the old blinds removed and new ones installed within an hour.

Description of Work: Jamey was a total professional. From bringing samples to our home, to helping us select the window treatments that perfectly suited our needs. He installed 15 (4" wide) Norman shutters and two blinds on doors in our basement. It took him and an associate only about 2 and half hours to get everything installed and the process was like clockwork. We are also thrilled with the build quality of the shutters and are positive they will provide energy savings year-round.

 + -1 moreSo far not so good. UPDATE: Shutters arrived and were installed 6/10/13. Installation was quick and professional. No mess was left behind and I am thrilled with the result.
Description of Work: Brought samples and measured windows. Provided a quote and revised quote as I changed some choices. When I was ready to order he came to the house again to measure a window he missed the first time and for me to take a second look as some samples. I placed my order and provided a check for half the cost. That was on March 25, 2013. The check cleared 3/25/2013 but he didn't order the blinds and shutters until the next week for some reason. It is May 15, 2013 and I still have no blinds/shutters nor an appointment for installation. UPDATE: Shutters finally arrived. Jamie installed 6/10/13 and was on time. The shutters are really beautiful and functional.

We wanted a more contemporary look & shutters weren't in the calling cards. But the Solar Sades fit the bill & at a very attractive price for our house full of windows. James was able to come at our convenience, was always on call & ready to answer any questions. Very pleasant to work with & he did the install himself...again at our convenience. We highly recommend this young man who doesn't have a hard sell & explain everything to us about usage & care.
