Fence Me In & Decks too

Cory, Kent, Bev, Leo, Renee, and the entire team was outstanding through all parts of the project. From estimate and HOA paperwork to communication and the final product they were professional and friendly. They even made some adjustments to the lattice afterwards that we are thrilled with. Was recommended to me by family, and we will be recommending them to friends and family.

Great experience, the fence only took 1 day for them to complete, once approved by my HOA. Build team even came out with a metal detector to locate my property line (rebar) in the ground, that way my fence line was maximized. The deck look great too, only took them 2-3 days to complete a 10'x 20' deck, about 10ft off the ground. Passed permitting with my county and now I can enjoy my yard freely.

From the initial contact and visit to scheduling and completion, Fence Me In was a great experience! We are new to Virginia and very happy with our new fence. Our pug Jenny is happy as well. Don’t hesitate to use this company.

Kent was very good. We thought we wanted vinyl but he was worried that attachments to house could cause a problem if removed. So he offered to replace the fences with wood, like we had, and offered to paint the wood before installation. We provided the paint. They completed the job in time frame discussed. Clean up everything from taking down old fence and we were very happy.

The wooden privacy fence that they built is beautiful, and it is what I wanted for my backyard. I had some issues at the first placement of the fence, but they corrected it and did a wonderful job. The men worked hard and cleaned up the area nicely. I would use them again and highly recommend them for beautiful fences. My fence will last a lifetime.

I admit I'm very detailed oriented, but Fence Me In didn't have quite the same attention to the little things that I did. The fence was installed on time and looks fine, but only after I had to point out a post that wasn't plumb, and a few other minor things that just weren't perfect. They did come back and fix most of the issues, but there are still a couple of minor things that aren't perfect. For most people, their quality of work would be fine, but for me they left me wishing they had the same very high standards that I do. I've had several neighbors ask if I would recommend them, and I've passed along their contact info with a honest recommendation that they were "OK". In my opinion, if you use them you'll get a decent job, reasonable follow-up, and a timely installation. Certainly not bad, but certainly not the very best contractor I've ever used. I struggled to answer the "would you hire them again?" question. The only choices given are yes or no, but I really want to say maybe. FYI, I got three bids for my fence project and they were the mid-priced bidder.

Everything went well. Fast. Actually came a day early and finished in less than 8 hours.

We hired Fence Me In to install a 400+ foot fence in late July 2018. Once our HOA approved the fence, the installation was set for less than 2 weeks later. We had already communicated to Fence Me In that we didn't have a set time-frame for the project, so it was a pleasant surprise to have it done so soon. We chose a flat-top picket fence after considering the beautiful alternating picket design (wood) and an aluminum fence. We were really happy with our choice, as the completed fence looks elegant and STURDY. It's easily the nicest fence I've seen in our subdivision (seriously!), and I think that Fence Me In would get a lot of interested customers if it was visible from the road. Our crew was led by Moe, and I'd hire him in a heartbeat for any project around our house. He and his men were on time every day, kept me informed about progress, and did an outstanding job on the fence itself. All of our posts were set in concrete and each board was installed individually. The attention to detail really shows, as our backyard has all sorts of little hills and inclines and the fence follows them all perfectly. The crew came out to pick up leftover materials within a day and clean up (very thorough!). Communication with the office was always a pleasure (thanks Cynthia!) and our sales person (Kent) was really thorough and helpful. I will happily recommend Fence Me In and will definitely call them when we decide to renovate our deck. We love our new fence!

Easy to work with. They came out, measured, discussed options, etc. and gave me an estimate. Upon signature, Called to schedule date to complete the work. The work was done on time and met my expectations regarding quality. They followed up to ensure all work was done per my request. I had 1 area that I still needed to repair and they came out promptly and repaired it. Cleaned up the work. I would recommend.

I would recommend Fence Me In to anyone in need of a wood fence. Every contact with every one was professional, informative and friendly. My old rotted fence was original to the house and not a typical design. However for consistency I needed a taller version of the same design as the replacement. They custom built every inch of a BEAUTIFUL Fence and at the best price of any of the estimates I gathered.

Awful experience. Some days the laborers didn't show up until noon or 1pm, project took a week when I was told 4 days. Poor craftsmanship. Panels installed fell off a week after construction. Had a vehicle gate installed in the back, one of the doors fell off. I couldn't get my car out to go to work. Had to have them come back multiple times to fix work. I had 2 other fence companies come and look at the work done by fence me in, both said it was poor craftsmanship and I got ripped off. I had to pay another company to come fix the fence.

Everything went well.

The owner is a very professional, honorable man. He kept his word and stood by the quality of the work.

The installers were very professional and detailed. The end result was excellent. They were easy to work with put pride into their work. They happily made the few adjustments I requested.

I had high hopes. I contacted Fence Me In and a repesentative, Jim?, came out the next day, he was exactly on time. We are planning to do a lot of work on our home and needed estimates in order to make sure we had enough money for everything we wanted to do. The fence is a priority and will be done early in our renovations. The salesman told me that prices were steadily increasing, I acknowledged this and stated we may be able to start sooner on the fence than everything else we have planned. The gentlemen walked off the property measurements, it was a very very cold day. When he was done he said he would email me an estimate of costs, wood vs chain link vs wood and wire. I never got the estimate. I gave it a week and called the office. I still did not receive an estimate. We have since had an indepedent surveyor out to mark the fence lines and have another company in mind to actually do the job. I do not recommend this company. They do not follow up. Our yard is about an acre so they lost a very large job.

Jim at "Fence Me In" agreed to repair my fence. The agreed upon date for the repair was 8/17/12 to allow for order/delivery of the fencing materials. I paid Fence Me In up front for the work, which was a mistake on my part. On this date, no one showed up to perform the work. No one called to explain the delay or reschedule the repair. When I contacted them on 8/27/12, Jim stated that there was a delay in the delivery of the fencing materials and he was working with the vendor to get the materials. He would let me know when they arrived. I never heard back from them until I contacted them about the status of the work on 10/16/12. I told them to return the money that I had paid if he could not get the materials or do the repair work. He assured me that the work would be done by 10/26/12. On this date, no one showed up to perform the work. No one called to explain the delay or reschedule the repair. On 10/27/12, he promised the work would be done by 11/2/12 or 11/3/12. Again, no one showed up to perform the work. No one called to explain the delay or reschedule the repair. I never heard from them anymore and my money has not been returned. Do not deal with these people. At best, they are unprofessional and unresponsive. At worst, they are thieves that use fraudulent business practices to steal from their customers.

The quality of the fence is fine and the installers did a good job and seemed to care about the project at hand. They were actually American citizens and I could communicate with them which seems to be a rarity in the trades business. However, they came ill-prepared for the job and had to borrow some of my hand tools and wheelbarrow, not to mention they lacked a proper vehicle for this type of work. Prior to the start of the job and providing a deposit, the owners will track you down like a bloodhound. But, just don't expect service after the sale.
