Started this process in March. We had high hopes that our experience with this company would be positive. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The only positive was the floor installation--very pleased with the overall work. Our first problem occurred when the counter tops we picked had been discontinued and had to be reselected and then reordered. Also found that the type of counter top we had ordered would not work, and we had to switch to a "deck" type counter top. The store owner said that because of this, he'd do a tile back splash for us for the same price. When the drapery rods arrived, they were installed incorrectly. After several calls to the store and several trips to the store, we were finally able to get the draperies "pulling" in the correct direction; however, hardware used (silver screws) to install the rods (black) did not match, and the rods were installed 1/2 on upper window molding and the lower rod hardware hanging away from the wall and held in place extra long silver screws--really an eyesore and certainly not what I expected for the price Rotenizer's had charged for the rods--$850!!! I had to purchase wood trim, cut, sand and paint blocks to insert myself to correct this as best I could. When the counter top was finally installed in the kitchen, it was not wide enough to cover the top of the cabinet and was installed without an overhang. The bar was installed correctly. After several weeks, I finally got the store owner and his installer back to the house--this was in June! They told me my cabinets were too wide for the "new" type of counter tops and this was the only way the top could be installed. I had already spoken with my contractor and knew that a custom top could easily be done, so we asked the store owner to have these counter tops removed. Once he realized we would not accept the job as in was left, the installer came up with a solution--remove the spacers under the counter top so it would "nest" correctly over the base cabinet, and then install a matching back splash to hide the gap caused when the counter top moved forward in order to "nest". I asked them to do this sometime the week of July 4th as I would be on vacation and at home all week. I called the store the week before July 4th and confirmed that the work would happen the following week. Finally, on FRIDAY, the store called and said they were on their way. Two hours later, the installer had corrected the problem, but had to move the counter top left 1/2 inch. When this happened, the sink drain began to leak. The installer showed me how to "fix" this myself because he didn't have the parts on his truck and didn't have time to get them because he had to go home and mow his yard. He did help me install the painted blocks for the curtain rods with the black screws that I had purchased to match the rods. He ran out of back splash and didn't have enough to do the bar as promised. Since I had become accustomed to having little communication from the store, I was not suprised that there was no follow up call from them the following week. Back at the beginning of this journey, I had given the store a deposit of $1500. I assumed I would recieve a bill for the balance once the job was completed. Two weeks after the job was "fixed" the store called and wanted to know why I had not been in touch!! At that time, I explained that there was no back splash at the bar, no counter support beside my refrigerator as promised, and that I had to fix my leaky sink myself. When I asked about my balance, they had failed to include my origional deposit!! I asked them to find the original contract, do their research, and then let me know what they felt a fair payment would be. In a couple of hours, the store called back and said we were correct--there was a $1500 deposit paid. They also deducted $350 since they had not installed the tile back splash and had credited me $200 for "goodwill". Since the tile back splash was only added after this mess started, we have no idea if this credit is fair--but $350 seems very low. Also, a $200 discount for all this trouble--really??? So finally, a project that began in March is finished in July. As you can imagine, we will NEVER recommend this company and will never use them again. Originally, I wanted to use them to avoid the "big box" stores. Now, I guess it's back to the "big boxes" for me.
