Landry Decorators

Barry Landry, Landry Decorators, initially gave a positive impression. Once the job started, he left the project in the hands of his "crew"...one incompetent person. The quality of the work was extremely poor. When asked to supervise and rectify mistakes, he indicated he would do it as a favor to me, but he was busy. He left town prior to finishing the job and upon return, demanded payment of the remaining 20% of the contract BEFORE he would finish the job. I told him I would pay him the balance when the job was complete. I pointed out to him in an email that he was only hurting us both by not finishing the job. He was belligerent and told me in an email he would not accept any more phone calls or emails from me. A month later he had not completed the job and another contractor was hired to rectify mistakes and complete the tasks. This resulted in additional expense, wasted time, and undue stress in a project that should have been easily completed had our agreement been honored. In retrospect, and according to the contractor hired to finish the job, I paid him far more than I should have for the poor quality of the work and the added stress of trying to get him to complete the project. To add insult to injury, Barry Landry is loudly proclaiming within the community that I am the dishonest one, when all he had to do is complete the final tasks and receive the remaining 20% left on the contract. I was willing to let it go and move on, but I do not take kindly to my reputation being slandered in this manner. I am extremely disappointed in that I expected better treatment from Barry Landry.

Well Barry was not at all professional and was super rude to his customers and peers. There were tasks which he has promised to do when he had given us the estimate but did not perform those tasks at all. And when asked him to do he was like he did not include them in the estimate. He would not take notes and therefore it led to him forgetting half the tasks. He will make sure to impress you with his lovely words in the beginning but once the task starts he would be at his worst behavior. I would be willing to pay a little more but get a better customer service. I would definitely not recommend him.

It went very well. The price was fair, his demeanor was excellent, and his work was well done. He also did some repair work form a list that my husband had written up. We have since referred him to a few different neighbors, and they have been very pleased as well. He also did some light electrical work, which saved me money from having to hire an electrician, and had no problem in redoing some dry wall work that was not to my satisfaction.
