Description of Work: I had my chimney cleaned. They did a great job, were on time and the price couldn’t be beat. I will use them again in the spring. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Description of Work: The contractor only contacted me through Angie's list message board. No calls or e-mails. Did not arrive when scheduled. When I called, they said they were running late and would be there by 3 p.m. They were supposed to show up between 9-11 in the morning. Appeared at my front door at 11:45. No apology for being "delayed".

Description of Work: We purchased a Big Deal for a dryer vent cleaning. We made an appointment for which he did not show. My wife rescheduled, and again he did not show. When I called him, he said that he could not come because he was having equipment problems, and could not call because he did not have our number, despite having made the previous appointment over the phone. We gave him one more try, and the same thing happened again. Once again, an excuse was given (a job at a commercial site took priority) and again no call was made to use to advise of the delay.

Description of Work: Once I purchased the Big Deal, I reached out to Carlo Olcese from Duct Clean, and he asked me over the phone about where the vent was located. I told him it was equivalent to the 3rd or 4th story. Unfortunately, he had a 32 foot ladder, but not a 40'to reach, which we didn't know until he got to my house. He was certainly very nice, too bad we couldn't make it work. Maybe in the future, there can be a footnote regarding the height of the outdoor vent for clients to know that's an issue with many service providers. I did another Big Deal a year or so ago, but the provider didn't service the Rockville area. Sometimes it's hard to tell if these services are right, since you have to buy the deal first before you contact them ... and then it's too late.

Description of Work: Poor. Carlo arrived on time, asked where dryer was and then asked where outside vent was located. I took him to the dryer and told him there is a smell that recently became noticeable and then took him outside to show him the vent that is about 3 stories above the ground. He said he could not perform the service since he could not reach the outside vent because he only had a 20 ft ladder. I asked if he could at least clean the vent from inside and he said no and then told me to contact Angie's List to obtain refund.

Description of Work: My exterior dryer vent cover fell off over the winter, and a family of birds moved in. This vent is approx. 30 ft. off the ground. Carlo showed up exactly on time. The job was harder than just a severe lint problem. It was pounds of bird nesting. Carlo had to drill a one inch hole in the smooth duct in a cubby hole in the attic to blow out the stuff. He had a rubber cap that he put on to make this job extremely easy if it ever happens again. He is a soft spoken and nice guy who went about his work very professionally. I would recommend him highly.

Description of Work: I used Duct Clean 1974 to clean my dryer duct and I was quite pleased with the service. They found a bird's nest in the duct and suggested a vent cover that would keep birds out so I bought one and they installed it for $ 30.00. They were professional and professional and I will use them again.

Description of Work: Fantastic service. I placed the order and before I called for an appointment, they called me. They came the same day, on time as stated and was finished quickly. Two techs (one in training) did the job as stated in the ad (From the Dryer to the outside vent). Cleaned up and were gone. Great service.
