Description of Work: During my initial visit with Aire Serv, it was for a second opinion. The first heating & air company told me I needed a completely new cooling system for my 6-year old A/C-heat pump. | |Aire Serve team came in (without benefit of the previous vendor's diagnosis) and said, "everything looks good; some surface rust from condensation but that it just needed to be cleaned. Signed a service contract on the spot for regular maintenance. That was 4 years ago. Have used them ever since for routine care of my heat/AC system. |This reminds me, I need to renew my annual contract for 2-times/per yr. maintenance.

Description of Work: We were moving our business office on the hottest day of the summer, so of course the AC decides to go out. AireServ (Front Royal) was here within hours to see what the problem was. They hooked us up with a temporary window unit so we could survive the afternoon and they had our unit fixed the very next morning. This isn't the first time they've come to my rescue either. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They replace a fuse. I was charge $80.00 for a $7.00 fuse and I had another company come in to find the real problem. My pump was causing a short and blowing a fuse.

They even helped arrange financing for the project. They gave me aquote,did the work and even followed up afterward to be sure we were happy. I highly recommend them.

My A/C failed on the hottest day of the year. I called Air-Serv at 2:20 pm; by 4:50 pm the technician had arrived as well as assessed and fixed the problem. The technician they sent was top-notch. The house was cool by dinner time. | |I would highly recommend Air-Serv for anyone's HVAC needs.

Description of Work: Very professional organization from booking the appt through to the followup. The technician was on time and very knowledgeable. He explained everything thoroughly and did the necessary work.

Description of Work: We had some water on the floor of the mechanical room from an issue with our HVAC's humidity level being set too high (operator error,my husband admits) At the same time,they corrected an issue with the condenser line from our tankless water heater to the drain. Both were taken care of without charge.

Description of Work: removed and replaced old propane furnace . the estimate and explanation was very good. the workers on site were exceptional. explanation of how it works was great as well. everything was great except the fact that i paid them $250 to pull all proper permits. which after the fact i found out were never pulled. probably an oversight. but something that could have gotten me in trouble with the county.

Description of Work: This work was to diagnose and replace a failed blower motor in the air handler unit of our home's heat pump system. Although Aire Serv responded quickly and repaired the problem efficiently, I was shocked at the nearly $900 bill to remove and replace the readily available direct-drive blower motor and start capacitor. The technician was on site for less than 3 hours. I live within 3 miles of Front Royal, so this was not a long-distance service call and it occurred on a week day. | |The invoice I received was not itemized, other than to note a service fee of $797 plus a $95 diagnostic fee. The technician offered me an "opportunity" to enroll as a "member." As a member, the service fee was reduced by $119 (15%) and the diagnostic fee was waived -- but the membership cost $110. As a member, I would get two "free" system checkups at a future time of my choosing. To keep bad from going to worse, I bought the membership, but I felt totally scammed. It was extremely difficult to work out the "deal" I was being offered, and the tech did not seem able to clarify it. At any rate, the final bill was still $848. I am still not sure how that price was arrived at. | |I have had them do one tuneup this past spring, and the technician was prompt, knowledgeable, and efficient. I have one more to go, and I will probably do that next spring. | |The other issue I have is that Aire Serv keeps calling me to recommend other services. Recently it was a phone call for a free inspection of our duct work. In addition I am getting email solicitations and mailings. | |As I write this, I realize I should have demanded an itemized bill, and then asked for an adjustment. But I didn't, I just paid the bill to get it over with. I give Aire Serv high marks for efficiency and technical ability, but I cannot say I am pleased with their pricing or marketing practices, especially the "membership" I felt forced to buy. The $848 charge to install a simple motor and capacitor seems way out of line to me.

Description of Work: Removed my old oil furnace (heat pump backup) and replaced with electric unit, relocated my existing heat pump outdoor unit (reran all pipes), installed additional return duct to the second floor hallway. Work was done quickly and accurately. Returned quickly when an issue with humidity pump arose and swapped out unit. The service men did a good job of keeping me informed of what was going on, and walked me through all the installations and changes. This work was done by the team at the Front Royal office.
