+ -1 moreDavid Rushton was extremely helpful and responsive in providing information about his services, and in scheduling the inspection. He arrived on time, and provided an extremely thorough and complete inspection, lasting several hours. He is very knowledgeable, and his inspection report was extensive and contained many photographs documenting his findings. It is possible to spend less money on an inspection, but if you want a thorough and revealing inspection, you will not be disappointed. I was also impressed by his background, training and education, and his participation at the state level with the recent move to home inspection licensing. I highly recommend Mr. Rushton for any home inspection project.

+ -1 moreWow... this home inspector did an amazing job. So much detail and thoroughness. He inspected inside and outside the home, and really took the time to explain everything to us. The inspection took 3+ hours, but it was worth it. He also said that if we ever have questions about ANYTHING related to the home or the home inspection, that we could call. Highly recommended!

+ -1 moreDave did a terrific job. When we first met on the phone he described what he would be doing during the inspection. Crawl space, attic, and everything in between. He also suggested I have a more thorough inspection of the septic which in Virginia is a cursory one done with the seller. On his advice I hired a septic company which determined that 2 of the drain lines were clogged. Dave’s inspection and subsequent report and pictures were extremely informative, not only for the few issues with the house, but more importantly it had many suggestions for “dressing up” some minor issues that I can do later. I would strongly recommend him to any potential home buyer who wants a status of the home they may want to buy.

+ -1 moreWe contacted the president of the association for home inspectors in Virginia, who highly recommended Dave. We were so grateful to find Dave. His detailed explanations and report helped us to manage our builder and to get a far better and far safer house. I hate to think of the problems we would be enduring for years to come if we hadn't had his help. My husband and I can't recommend Dave highly enough.
Description of Work: Dave Rushton of Able Inspection spent 4 1/2 hours inspecting a house we were having built. He spent a similar amount of time inspecting the house at a pre-drywall stage. With this kind of thoroughness and with over 30 years of experience, he identified more than a dozen safety code violations that the builder and the county inspector had missed. He also identified a great many items that substantially improved the function, safety, maintenance, and aesthetics of the house. Dave showed us every problem. He wrote a detailed report with a description of each problem, and get the report to us within 24 hours. He provided substantial additional information about issues where we had questions (e.g., on electrical wiring) and provided us with a thick binder of information on maintaining our home. We also had him talk directly with the builder to explain various issues and ways of improving the house.
