Installation was excellent however the Windows have been failing seals and hazing up starting at 4 years. They replace it free which is nice but it's pretty sad that 40% of the windows have gone bad so far after 5-7 years.

Windows may factory seconds. Glue on inside glass and one four inch mark on side. Windows were full on glue from stickers and dirty hand prints from install. Can not clean due windows being large picture type. Have to now hire professionals to clean second level and had scrape and clean windows clean.

I've learned to take the Angie's List five star ratings with a grain of salt. Like other contractors I've used based on recommendations from here, I doubt the high ratings they have. I purchased a new Entry Door from this company based on the ratings from this site. I am satisfied with the quality of the door I purchased. It appears to be well made and has performed well over the last few months. Prior to contracting with WW I received other quotes from competitors with good ratings on this site. Although the installation of this door is functional and adequately sealed against the weather, I felt like I should point out some of things I observed during the installation. 1. Appearance matters! If you accept a very messy work truck, then what do you think this communicates to potential customers as you drive thru town, or when you arrive to complete a job? 2. The install required WW to remove the existing door, and the carpenters or the company did not anticipate any issues with water damage or rot to the sill underneath the old door. The had no materials nor tools to correct issues like this. If I hadn't insisted on it and paid for it, then I would have a new door installed over a rotted sill without any care from the carpenters installing it. This should have been a no go for any carpenter and not at my insistence to correct it. 3. Also I don't fault the contractor for leaving me a project to paint the outside of the door, but I would advise other customers to ask when you receive an estimate what the contractor will not do as part of the price.

We recently replaced our old wood frame windows with energy efficient vinyl windows from Window World. We obtained four estimates and found that Window World offered a truly no-obligation free estimate. As well, they offered a good product at reasonable price. On installation day the team worked methodically to remove the old windows and install the new ones. They also cleaned up all all the resulting debris. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone considering window replacements.

Great! They showed up on time, did an exception installation job, and left the site as clean as they found it.

Not finished yet... it's been a month they refused to finish the job because of some bees...had exterminator treat the house then they still refused due to bees then had the exterminator come out while window world was here...they still refused...owner is no help, installers seem to be trying to prove a point or show some sort of retaliation....this is the worst service ever. I recorded some of this event because ppl would not believe me...going to court...Go to a different window world or window place...you have been warned.

Excellent. About three months after a window fractured and they replaced it with no questions asked. Installer said he had been installing windows for 20+ years.

They did a great job. They were the cheapest of anyone. The did everything we asked of them.

Happy with salesman, installers, and quality of product thus far. Hope to see reduction in room temperature during upcoming summer months as this south facing room was always warm.

Windows are fine in quality although you will not see the kind of energy savings that the sales pitch would imply. I was realistic in that aspect, but do not expect to see anything more than a few dollars per month. Overall the temperature of the windows on the inside (upstairs) was about three degrees cooler and I'm really interested in next summer when the comparable temperatures are involved. Again, the windows seem fine, but I wish I would have researched just changing out the glass packs. Issues: They absolutely destroyed the window casing removing the bay windows. The cuts were so bad the capping they used looked clown like in appearance. Ultimately I had them change that and repaired the window casings myself. The other windows were removed in such a fashion they had to use vinyl capping (think fake looking boards around your windows) to hide the vinyl they cut with skill saws because they didn't have the right tools onsite. I even had to lend them a skill saw to work on the windows. They also just laid their tools all over our new carpet in the house (tan) and mess that is made is just too much. No dropping of sheets or plastic to protect carpet, plants, mulch, etc. just cut and hope a vacuum will clean it all up. It doesn't, we still have white cut vinyl everywhere in our rubber mulch. A window was incorrectly ordered - no biggie, took weeks to replace and the replacement was broken (they broke it removing it from the frame because they didn't order a glass pack) so we waited several more weeks for another one. Again, no biggie, but they even lied about the previous window saying the frame was bent. It wasn't, I watched from upstairs as they removed the window and broke it. I hate dishonesty - just say what happened and fix it. Shutters were incorrectly sized, wrong color, and mismatched style. There were just too many issues to come away with this being a win. Contact me, happy to share pictures and discuss what happened and share what you want to ask before having your windows replaced. Do not get vinyl capping, get them installed correctly, just like all my other neighbors have had. Vinyl capping is a poor excuse to do a cover up job. A majority of homes in Virginia that have vinyl siding, can be done right and look like preexisting installed windows. Don't let them feed you a line; seek another installer to do your windows. If you don't know what a vinyl capped window looks like, ask!! Ask the installers from other jobs and you'll get an honest answer - it's really up to them. Watch how quick they are silenced by the company after you tell them what they say. The owners were just awful - they have a standard answer for everything and the bottom line is they are not going to correct anything. You'll just be worn down by time and inconvenience. This was one of three major upgrades we did this year - AC, roof, and windows. 2 of the 3 were amazing from soup to nuts; this was like getting food poisoning. Just be smart, do your homework and do not rely on the salesperson - he even wanted me to accept the wrong window and take $250 off because it comes out of his pocket...really, 8k in windows and the biggest one in the house would be wrong. Overall just a bad experience and the end result neither improved the appearance or provided the value I thought we were going to get. If anything, my value as decreased due to the appearance. The white window caps do not align with their vinyl cap trim around the windows. It's up to you, don't make the mistakes I did.

This was the second installation of vinyl windows for this house. Everything went smoothly from the estimate to completion. 2 man crew finished in one day. No mess left, very satisfied with the install. Windows have been in place now for over a year without any problems. First window install of 11 windows over 2 years ago went as well. No problems with them either. Easy to clean and holding up well to Virginia's climate.

Beautiful job! Great service from scheduling the estimate to completion. Our back porch was built in 1991, not level or square. Installing these windows were a challenge! Crew boss was knowledgeable and figured out a solution. Work completed In little over one day. All 16 windows work well, have had no problems. Screens all around make this a great porch for three seasons.

They were very professional and helpful in deciding which windows we needed. They didn't try to sell me enough windows for the cost of a new luxury car! The workmanship was great and we have no complaints at all. Just be smart and know that the window will not cost you $189. I paid $3000 for 5 windows. I liked that the warranty extends to the next owner and the screens are covered for life.

A telephone call brought a salesman to our door who measured the doors and provided a price quote. We had originally planned to have French doors installed in both locations but the salesman recommended against that style in the ground level location because of exposure to weather and recommended a less expensive sliding door. This matched the door in that location which was to be replaced. We accepted his recommendation and placed the order. A 50% down payment was required. The delivery was estimated to be in six weeks from the time of order. The French doors were delivered and installed at the expected time, but the sliding door was not available, apparently because of a mistake in placing the order by the local office. The actual installation was scheduled several days in advance. The installation crew arrived at the time expected and did their work efficiently and politely. The second door was delivered and installed six weeks later. The same crew installed this door, again arriving at the expected time and doing their work efficiently and politely. After about 2 months of use, both doors are working as advertised. I am quite happy with the experience. The sales representative was polite and informative and did not employ any pressure tactics. The installation was completed in a timely fashion with no more fuss than the job required. The installers were competent and professional. We selected Window World from three competing quotes as offering the best combination of price, quality and service.

e contacted Window World of Fredericksburg, Inc. in late September, 2012, after a neighbor recommended the company to us, and our meeting with the representative, who was late for the appointment, resulted in an esttimate for 17 windows and a sliding patio door based on his estimate for the contract. The Window World representative returned (late again for the appointment) to take measurements of the existing windows and the door, and the financing wa scompleted. Delivery and installation were to be in "6 to 8 weeks", a fairly standard fabrication time. However, near the end of October in fact, we decided to add 1 window to the work order, and knew it would extend the delivery and installation, but we were agreeable to the time frame. When the windows came in and the installation was scheduled it was mid-December, and a "little longer" than we expected, but still we were okay with it. We had emphasized with the representative several times that time was not a critical issue for us, but with the Christmas holidays approaching, it would be nice to have them done by then. Not a problem, he said. The installation date arrived and the crew was here with all of the windows and the patio door, and they arrived within an hour of the scheduled start. Pretty good, given the propensity for being late of most contractors we have experienced living here. The crew was amiable, courteous, and efficient; everything we could have wanted, really. During their initial survey of the house, a couple of problems were noted that would complicate the installation, mostly because of the size of the patio door which was too large for the opening, but these were seemingly resolved or a fix could be made. As the crew came to the last of the three windows, I noticed the first one of three sashes they were about to install was not the right size. This was a serious problem because several years ago we had plantation shutters installed in some windows, and the shutter frames were made to match the sashes of the windows, the original windows. The new windows had to be made in these same proportions or the appearance would not be as appealing form the outside as before the new windows.This feature was pointed out to the Window World representative who took the measurements, and he commented that these were "oriental windows", or some such terminology, meaning the top and bottom sashes were of different sizes, but it would not be a problem because this was not an unusual condition. As I discussed the problem with the installation crew, it was apparent they would need to install the incorrectly sized windows in the window frames to provide closure for now. It also meant that the rather large plantation shutter assemble could not be reinstalled, and would stand in our dining room another month throughout the Christmas holidays. Just what we wanted for decoration in the dining room! We were gone from home at different times for Christmas and the Window World representative was gone some as well, so the sashes were not remeasured until mid-January. The representative was apologetic, but would not take responsibility for the incorrectly measured three windows, and added that I would be responsible for the added costs. I agreed to pay for the difference in the price of the oriental window versus a standard window, but would not agree to the $100 charge for a return trip by a crew or person to do the installation. I felt, simply, that if the windows been correctly ordered and made in the first place, they would be installed already, the time the rest of the windows and the door were done. But now, we are out an additional $156, and have more waiting to go through. In the meantime we have received a payment notification from the bank which financed the windows and patio door and it is for an amount that is more than the contract by $98. We contacted the bank and they said we must contact Window World of Fredericksburg, Inc. to iron out the difference because the contract amount came directly from the company. When I contacted the company and explained the problem, I was told that the contract they had showed a different amount than the one I had. I asked for them to email me a copy of the one in their possession, and when they did, it had clearly been changed by someone at their end, and without my knowledge. When I next contacted their representative, his explanation was that he had changed the amount, adding in the cost for tempered glass in the window that was added late to the order because it was a "code requirement". The window was to be installed in a bathroom and, by code, the glass must be tempered for safety reasons. I understood this, but what was difficult to understand was why I was not told about it a month earlier. This, he said, was just an oversight on his part, but he was concerned that waiting to tell me about it would delay the order. Okay, but the order was already "delayed", so this was inexcusable. So finally, three windows arrive that are the correct size, and the installer has them in in about 40 minutes, BUT when he has completed the installation of the sashes, he says they (the company) did not send screens for them. Yippee!, just one more delay, but by now, my attitude is "what tha heck!", but the good news is he can bring them out when they come in, and install them, and we won't have to be here. Well, thank you very much. Several weeks later, I'm out of town, and called Window World of Fredericksburg, Inc. to ask if the screens were in or expected anytime soon since I had not heard from them. The person I spoke to said they were not ordered and that I would need to pay for them first. My reply was that I was not going to pay any more than I had already. I said, I paid an additional amount for those three "oriental windows" expecting screens to be included and that I was expecting the company "to eat" any more costs. My next contact from Window World came a few weeks later and it was saying the screens had arrived. We set an installation date and per the second installers statement that "we wouldn't have to be at home", I said no one would be there. When I returned home within a few days, I looked and the screens were in. It had taken4 months to accomplish, but it was finally done. I will say that Window World has a high quality product and it's fairly priced (certainly not the least expensive by far), and the crews were very capable craftsmen and "good guys", but the contacts in the office and the field representative leave a lot to be desired. Their products and work, they say are guaranteed, and even though we have a "sticking problem" with the sliding door, I am reluctant to ask them for any assistance. My feeling at this point is, thank goodness these were the last of the windows to be replaced, because I will never, in my wildest dreams, want them to do work for us again.
