I haven't actually seen it yet, but so far, so good. I called them at the end of last week, and they came yesterday for about an hour. They sent two people, the owner and his daughter. I think they were a little later than they said they would be, but it didn't matter because we didn't have to be there for it. There were no issues. I think they are on the higher end, price-wise.

aMr. Thurber returned my call and we had a discussion on what I needed done.I paid him $100 up front as good faith and we set up an appointment. Mr. Thurber came out on the day of the appointment with all his tools and did a great survey job, locating all iron pipes and stakes throughout the property and even ventured into the deep woods of my property outside of my fence. He does all transaction via the web: gave a detailed survey plan via email and invoices via pay pal. He even came out for a second visit after I raised a few concerns about some locations. Everything was up and up. Great customer service. I highly recommend him

Mr. Thurber arrived at the scheduled time, took time to explain exactly how he was going about to make sure the survey is accurate. The plat was sent promptly the same day. We are very happy with the services provided.

They provided a property boundary survey as I needed to know who the owner of a fence was as I wanted to replace it. Talked with them over the phone, they made a visit to the property (as I don't live there) and provided me a platt of the land over email. Deposit via Pay Pal was required before the start of the survey and balance due at the end. This was such an easy and painless project because of them. I highly recommend this company.

His service was outstanding. He came out promptly, completed the work, and sent me the survey by email.

Excellent, timely and efficient service

It went spectacularly well. I am pretty sure I received a call back within a hour and they offered to come out virtually the next business day. We then had days of torrential rain (you can't survey in the rain). I think they kept in ocntact with us every day and it seemed to me that they felt worse about the weather than we did (and obviously there is nothing they could do, but when the rain stopped they were here and did the job. They were just great!

Mr. Thurber responded very quickly to my initial inquiry reiterating all my requirements and including setting property markers as required. He also stated the dates he was available to conduct the work. We reached an agreement on 6 Oct for the work to be conducted on 11 Oct. Mr. Thurber and his daughter checked in at the agreed to hour and date and promptly went to work. He quickly located all the property corner markers with the exception of one, which could not be found. He quickly made the appropriate measurements and set a new marker for the one that could not be found. Throughout the entire survey and in pre-/post-communications, Mr. Thurber was friendly and professional. I was unable to be present during the survey but my wife was and she received the respect, friendliness, and courtesy I expected had I been present. He listened to her concerns and our need for the exact location of the existing fences. As promised, we received an email copy of the survey the very next day. As expected, it was clear and provided the accurate position of the existing fences with respect to the property lines. I did have some questions regarding the survey, just to ensure I fully understood it. I emailed Mr. Thurber asking him to call me that evening at his convenience. He called me promptly in the evening and spent about 20 minutes on the phone answering my questions and ensuring I understood the survey. My only concern, albeit a minor one, is that I haven't received the original, signed survey through the U. S. Mail. Finances were conducted through PayPal, making it quick and easy. I highly recommend Thurber Engineering and Land Surveying and will definitely use him in the future.

Mr. Thurber was very courteous and easy to work with. He got the job done quickly and efficiently. He made a special stop at the county court house to find additional information that was needed. I am very pleased with the results. He was very helpflul in helping me understand where my property lines are.

He tried to accommodate me earlier then promised but due to the terrain had to return the next day. He was just trying to fit me in because of pending weather problems. The job was cpmpleted ahead of schedule.

Jim Thurber provided a quick estimate, and was very flexible in meeting my need for quick turn-around. In less than a week he was on site, on time and completed the survey in short order. He worked with the excavation contractor to make sure they have exactly what they need when they arrive to do the site work and pad installation. I will happily work with this firm for all of my future survey work and have referred them already to two of my Northern Virginia residential architects.

The house next door was demolished and a new house built, with a fence along my driveway where there had never been a fence. I was concerned the fence was encroaching on my lot. Mr. Thurber responded to my email request literally within minutes, discussed my concerns with me and provided a lot of good comments; he came out in just a couple of days to survey and sent me a plat showing the fence and my property line by email the same day. Very customer oriented, very responsive and reasonable.

I was very pleased with the highly competent and qualified work done by Jim with his daughter, it wasn't easy to climb the hill behind the house, but he worked to get it done accurately, he located all the metal pipes hidden in the ground and placed stakes there. I feel better knowing exactly where my property ends in the downhill since it is like a "no man's land" the neighbors never tend to their area of the property.

All I wanted was to know where my property began and ended so I could plant some trees anddo some more brush clearing. Mr. Thurber answered all of my questions and thework he did will make my planting and clearing easy. Mr. Thurber was responsive, punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. The technical drawing of the layout of the property was delivered on the same day of the work. Mr. Thurber does a great job. I couldn't ask for more.

Jim was extremely responsive. He replied immediately after my web inquiry and set up a service time almost instantly. Then, when I changed my mind on the level of service I needed, he was accommodating and understanding. Resulting product was professional and thorough. A great service provider!

Great service, a great rate, and I would definitely recommend him to others and use his services again if need be.

Jim Thurber, his wife and daughter came out and did a first class job for a dynamite price. All the Thurbers are polite, customer-oriented, extremely competent and efficient. I got a pdf file of the plat a few hours later, sent to my email address. They are superb. I'd rate them A+++.

Could not ask for more. In fact, he quoted me a price of $150, expecting to be able to handle the job in one visit. When he needed to consult the platt and come back another day to set the pipes, I offered to pay more, and he stuck with his original quote. I did round up a little on my check ($175), but he did a lot of work for the money. I got both expertise and integrity. Hire these folks!

Called Jim, turns out he was going to be in the neighborhood in a couple of days, so we scheduled a time. Even though no one was home, he showed up, did the job, and send me a .pdf of the property plat the same day, along with hard copies in the mail. All at a great price too.

It went very well. Mr. Thurber explained what he did and showed me where the boundary stakes were located. He marked those stakes. He also provided me a completed drawing of the plat the same day via email. I am very happy and satisfied with the job.
