They tune up my heating and AC every year (I have their silver plan) and as always, it was done perfectly and courteously. The tech (Derek) went the extra mile and opened all my AC vents for the season for me, too. They installed my new furnace some years back, and I remain happy with that too. Highly recommended.

We have always been pleased with our experiences.

The service part was fine and the installation was done professionally. They have always done good work. The real issue was the cost. I don't recall getting a quote although the service rep said he provided it and may very well have. Regardless here are the facts. The Trane XL 824 was $550 and installation was $300. On line I found the same unit for sale at $249.95. So the mark up on the unit was as much as $300 and the install charge was $300 for about 45 minutes of work. That is why I provided an F for price. I was very disappointed they would do that to a long-time customer.

Company was responsive. It was an emergency (air conditioning broke at hottest time of summer). Worked around the unusual setup that we have. Extremely professional, courteous, patient, and hard-working. Put extra effort into getting the unusual motor we needed for the repair in a very short amount of time.

Two workers got here approximately 8 am. One worked inside, the other outside, until they tested the unit. Once everything was up and running they showed us how to use the programmable thermostat. We are very pleased with the work.

They had the best price of several companies that provided estimates. The company is big enough that the installation crew (2 men) specializes in just installations. They arrived in mid-morning and were done by mid-afternoon. There was a minor glitch with the digital thermostat, but that was fixed promptly. The new Trane system has been working just fine.

The installation was smooth and went very well. Inside air handler and outside unit were replaced.

Robert B. Payne?s price was competitive and, most importantly, quoted me the right equipment for the job. Specifically, they did not try to upsell me and was the only company (out of a total of seven) that quoted the necessary larger refrigerant line for the installed 18 SEER unit. I liked the fact that they were very upfront about the need for pulling permits for replacing the gas furnace and pulled the permits themselves. The installation was quick, professional, and clean. Financing was easy through Wells Fargo. I strongly recommend them.

We've had Robert B. Payne service our heat pump for the past 12 years; our Trane is more than 30 years old and is still running well because of the care and time that RB Payne employees have been willing to put into it. We plan to replace it this Spring ... you better believe we will be having Robert B Payne perform the install.

Excellent service. Excellent Trane equipment. Shopped around - RBP installs Trane systems for less cost than many competitors. Approx. three years ago, RBP replaced our downstairs unit with a new Trane, as well. They provided superior service and equipment on that occasion, as well. Technicians are efficient, clean and courteous.

We have never had anything other than excellent service. I can only say good things about him because I've never had any complaints. They have always done exactly as they've promised.

They were an hour or two late for the appointed time but the office called and explained that they had an emergency repair they were working on and offered to reschedule our routine appointment. We said we would wait. By the time the service man got here it was after 6 PM and we already had steaks on the grill. Too bad for him to have to smell that while he worked thru his dinner hour. He serviced the two heat pumps and filled out the paperwork for the electric company rebates. Professional service with no problems.

It went great. He was a great cheerful guy from sales process to the commissioning process. They educated me. They did quality installation.

Very professional! Installed a complete top of the line 3-ton Trane XVi20 system. I obtained estimates from two other contractors, one from our local home improvement store and one from another local HVAC company. The home improvement company (who actually contracts out the work, wanted almost $7000 more for the same system, the local company was comparably priced to Payne. I have used Robert Payne for system maintenance and have always been satisfied. Same result! Recommended them to a friend and he had a new system installed about a week later.

Estimator arrived soon after company was called. Presentation was thorough but not overdone. Installation was scheduled for only a few days later. Installation went smoothly and was completed faster than estimated. System is working fine.

Ummm, waiting to hear back from them about some options like I asked for when quoting. They only seem to want to push Trane.

Left a message via Angie's List messaging to R.B. Payne evening of July 7; R.B. Payne responded at the opening of their business day on July 8, at 8:30 a.m. Based on my two-minute description of the problem, R.B. Payne sent a polite and fully qualified technician when they had availability, five hours later. This response was impressive for a new customer on on of the hottest, busiest days of the year. The technician systematically identified a double-failure and obtained parts from the R.B. Payne shop, six miles away. In order to ensure that he correctly identified the double-failure, he changed each failed component independently of the other and tested the system in-between, to ensure that only malfunctioning parts were replaced. To cap it off, the technician help us to get a significant, new-customer discount on the work. The price was excellent. I am impressed and will be a continuing customer.

A prior HVAC service company had said i needed over a $1000 in HVAC repairs. I called Robert Payne. they responded in only a couple of days. Their onsite tech said most of the service the prior company had said was "must have", was, in fact, not needed. They filled my AC system and performed a thorough inspection. My bill as only a little over $300. I highly recommend this company!

I broke my HVAC. It was 11 years old and the furnace was 20 I had several companies provide me quotes. This company had the best price and included quality parts, professional service, and fast and punctual service.

When the time came to replace the heat/ac in my home I went to Angie's list and chose 4 contractors with A ratings. I knew which equipment I was going to buy so I chose contractors that were qualified to install what I wanted, (i.e. factory certified technicians.) I got quotes from the 4 contractors, all were professional, prompt and knowledgeable. Robert B. Payne Inc was not the cheapest quote but I chose them because the sales rep. was very knowledgeable, took time to explain the equipment I wanted and exactly what they would do. They have been in business a long time and are family owned. I got their quote on Monday, made my decision on Tuesday and they installed new equipment on Thursday. The Techs were on time, very professional, neat (no mess in house) and did a great job. I have been in the construction industry 28 years and I know quality work when I see it. The Tech took time to explain the new equipment and how to use it. He was very patient with my questions and answered in terms I could understand. Overall we are very happy with our experience from beginning to end. We would strongly recomend Robert B Payne.

I've been using Robert B. Payne for several years. They are always courteous, knowledgable, and in time. They are conscious of keeping your home clean. They also go the "extra mile" and point out ways to save, or things that may need attention soon. Every time I've called, they have been friendly and welcoming. Great company!!

I did not give them the work after I researched the part cost and a couple of do it yourself videos on the repair. I had sticker shock that labor was going to be $580 for a 5 to 15 minute job. I understand that some of the pricing may include warranty for labor but the part itself has a warranty and the job was not at all complicated. ALso, why can the company not itemize the estimate? I as a customer should be able to make an informed decision by understanding exactly what I am paying for. Labor, parts, taxes, warranty etc... Also, during the scheduling I was given a window of after 12PM the next day. I was explained that it could be late in the evening based on their work load or I could pay an emergency fee and they would see me the same day. If you buy a service contract then the response time would get priority over those without the service contract. If I had gone with this company it would have been 3 - 5 days waiting during 32 degree nights and I would have paid way too much for the repair. Luckily I have furnances on both levels and broke out the space heaters down stairs to keep us warm.
