Last year we had a new HVAC system installed and since then have had technicians out twice to perform the semi-annual maintenance checks. We've been very pleased with the service provided by Robert B. Payne. The most recent maintenance was conducted by David, he was knowledgeable and very professional.

The techs arrived as scheduled Kenny, Travis and Irvin were professional, informative, friendly and the house was cleaner than when they arrived. The whole process from dealing with owners and Robby doing the quoting made this experince very pleasant. I highly recommend this company.

Called office when they opened at 8:00. Brian called me within the hour and arrived to check things out. Thermostat turned out to be bad. Replaced thermostat and checked out the rest of my heating system inside and out. Brian was very courteous, and knowledgable and had things up and running in no time. Robert B Payne is the only company I have or will ever use for issues with my HVAC system.

Trane system installed - Perfect, clean, fast, first rate. Time frame from first contact to new items completely installed, 45 hours. Probably could have been installed in under 24 hours if my work schedule permitted.

They were very professional and respectful. They seemed to perform quality work and did so in a timely manner. They took the time to fully explain the new system and ensure I was happy with the installation. The price was outrageous considering the cost of the equipment and they only worked for 4 hours. But this seems to be an epidemic in this industry. Companies are charging $6500 to install $3000 of equipment in 4 hours. $3500 for 4 hours of work? Their explanation was they had to pay for their trucks and overhead. I understand overhead, but name another industry (except medical) that changes that type of markup for their services. Auto repair companies feel like a rip off many times, but they don't even come close. I wonder how they pay for their trucks and garages?

We have an annual membership with them. We think their price is competitive. They are very nice and personable. They fixed something that everyone else said couldn't be fixed. We were told by the first company we would have to get a new one, and Robert B. Payne made it work.

We needed a new filter at the time. While they were there they could have just replaced the filter instead of giving me a note after they were gone, so I had to go out and buy a filter to install it myself. I was not happy about that. They could have just called. They need better communication.

Very pleased with the unit recommended by RB Payne for our house, and with its installation. Excellent follow-up by RBP several months after installation to be certain that the unit was functioning properly, and took care of small fluid leak that I hadn't noticed. Has been functioning beautifully for two years, and wife and I are very pleased. Well-trained and knowledgeable sales staff and installation/repair technicians. Company rates #1 in my book in the Fredericksburg, Va. area.

The gentleman who worked with us to decide what we needed actually recommended a less expensive option than we thought we wanted and explained why. The guys who did the work were seasoned professionals. It was clear that they were proud of their workmanship. I expected good work, but they exceeded my expectations. As mentioned earlier, this was an outstanding installation and a pleasure to deal with Robert B. Payne.
Description of Work: We recently had a complete HVAC system installed by Robert B. Payne. My wife and I went into this purchase by first doing a lot of research on HVAC systems and the many companies that provide installations. We narrowed our interviews down to a few companies and Robert B. Payne representative, "Robbie," stood out. We found him very personable, straight forward, and honest. The information he provided tracked with our research and he did not try to over sell us a unit...in fact, he painstakingly walked us through a process based on our need. We didn't experience any red flags. Robbie said that their prices were very competitive and we discovered he was correct. Relative to the installation, the team of Kevin and Mark was outstanding. Both were very friendly, respectful, and professional....these guys knew what they were doing. Communication by this company is first rate and dealing with the home office staff was yet another pleasant experience. Robert B. Payne should be a benchmark for any company that wants to be successful. I wish all contractors were like them. Lastly, and overall, this was probably the best experience we've ever had with a contractor....

I think when I bought the house they had their sticker on the air conditioning unit that's why I called them when I had trouble with it. I think they are a little bit expensive but I think they do good work. The first one I had a leaking coil so they replaced the coil under warranty but then I had to pay still a lot of money just for the free-on and labor, I think it was maybe $700. They came right out and did it in a day. They were on time. I dealt with 2 different crews because 2 different people came for both work and both of them were good.
