Perma Treat Pest Control

I thought I had termite problem, but sales rep inspected my home inside and out and identified pests to be ants. He also explained the common types of ants that may infest homes. He was friendly and helpful, and I felt comfortable that he had recommended the most appropriate service to meet my needs without trying to oversell. The service man was equally professional, explained everything he was doing, showed me what he was using, what I could expect, how long for extermination to be effective, etc. I was encouraged to call back after the service with any questions, concerns, or if there were any sightings of ants . There was none.

We have used them in the past and we really enjoy working with them. They do a really great job. They call me before they come out and you don't have to be home. We never had a problem with pests. If we do have a problem, they come and take care of it immediately. The reviews that I read about them were definitely true about them. We didn't find the price to be unreasonable. If you pay in advance, they offer a discount.

First of all -- My qualifications for making this review: I have a Masters Degree in Biology from Purdue University -- therefore I know about termites and ants. I have a Ph.D. Degree in Business Administration -- therefore I know about judging costs of services and contracts. As I said, the termite treatment was by the book. I am pleased. As for the cost, I got 3 bids for the job, since I knew I needed a full house and garage treatment. For the previous 4 to 5 years I had tried solving my termite problem myself by using Spectracide Termite Stakes which I purchased at Lowes and Home Depot and which I replaced over that period when the bait loss indicated. That method which cost me over $500 was a complete waste of money. I would not recommend using Spectracide Termite Stakes. Before calling PermaTreat, I ended up with termite infestation coming up in many places under my slab areas and a few places in the crawl area. The termites ate out one of my family room window sills and a part of the floor moulding in atwo bedroom closet.s Also, the termites had eaten out part of the doorway framework of the garage door. Two service people from PermaTreat were exceptionally competent and professional. The first person whom I initially met did the inspection. Her name is Rosemary West. After her inspection, she was the only contractor that presented me with a detailed grid of my house and garage, showing me the problem areas and showing in detail exactly what the treatment would be in each area of my property. The technician, Joe Norris, who performed the termite work was the other person that I highly recommend. He is a true professional, has a great personality and is willing to help the homeowner in any way he can by being willing to change his work plan by working in one area while you are living in a different part of your house. He will stay out of your way and he does this with great courtesy. The other two companies that I interviewed did not come up to the mark of PermaTreat. One company told me that when he rodded between house brick with the same insecticide he did so at 24 inch intervals. The Termidor specs call for no more than 12 inches between rodding. Also, I received a healthy Anglieslist member discount on the final price.and the company was willing to match a counter-offer that I received from another company. Very competitive in price and superior in performance. I would suggest that Angieslist members who have an active termite infestation, first read the Termidor insecticide instruction manual before you call any termite exterminating company for estimates or bids. The manual is very clear and precise.

On time, professional, above and beyond the call of duty

I have had a service contract with Perma Treat Pert Control for over five years. They have stood me up for appointments three times. The last time I took off work on a Friday, for an appointment at 10AM. At 12:30 still no show. I called and was told that the service provider could not make it. The experience was good. The sales representative was very friendly and informative. Just as well, the gentleman who treated the house arrived on time, was very professional, and did a thorough job.

Don called to reschedule the estimate becasue he was stuck in traffic. After the inspection I received many pushy phone calls to get me to buy their treated insulation.

He came out to look at what I thought was an infestation of squirrels, bed bugs and termites. He was on time, early actually, pleasant, professional and very very nice. He did a thorough inspection of the house inside and out and doens't think that I have any of what I thought I have. We did find however, a big ant problem and he's made some recommendations for future services that I will certainly take him up on and report back. It always means a lot to me when someone doesn't take advantage of the fact that I thought I had somethign that they could have made a lot of money on. That kind of honestly is hard to come by now a days. And, he was very friendly and playful with my dog - score one for Tracey! I would definitely use them again and will report back on the services they perform.

I had high expectations after reading about Perma Treat on this site. They exceeded them. I called them today expecting to have to make an appointment for later in the week. Wesley told me that it was possible that he could come out in an hour. He arrived on time as promised and was very knowledgeable, professional and amicable. He did not attempt to pressure me into their services. He advised that he did not find any active termite activity; only signs of prior activity which resulted in no current damage. Wesley is the kind of professional that I like to deal with. He knew his product/service and displayed no compunction to pressure a sale. I would definitely recommend Perma Treat to others.

They have been great. They haven’t had to treat our home as their inspections all indicated we did not need service, but they have done a good job. We have an ongoing plan with them, and will continue to use them.

We interviewed three companies and chose them. The man came and he did not do a good job. He did not know what he was doing. He thought he needed to treat the crawlspace and we have a conditioned crawlspace which had foam all around the outside walls. He took down all of the foam to spray for the termites, and then attempted to put the foam back up with duct tape. Perma Treat came back with the man and his boss. The boss knew how to fix it, and he put it all back up correctly while teaching the man how to approach a conditioned crawlspace in the future. Their prices were average, but we did not go with the lowest bid because we thought Perma Treat had a good reputation. They did stand by their word, and we actually have a service contract with them currently.

My experience with PermaTreat has been great. I had the initial treatment and then a quarterly follow-up. After the first treatment my problem with spiders disappeared. Whenever I did see one it was a dead one (even months after the treatment). The technician performed a complete check outside and inside during both visits. Later I noticed I had a critter digging near my foundation and the tech placed a bait station near the hole and within a week I noticed no more signs of digging. When inside the technician put booties over his shoes so my floors and carpets would stay clean which I appreciated. I'm very pleased with their service and would recommend them to anyone with a pest problem. Initial treatment was $150 (inside and out plus glue traps). After 3 months I decided to go ahead and sign up for their quarterly program ($95 per quarter) because I was so pleased with the results.

They are responsible and reliable. They do a very good job. They have fulfilled our needs as requested.

Permatreat is very responsive and flexible to our schedule. Late yesterday, for example, we had to reschedule from an afternoon appointment to morning, and they were very accommodating to our needs. Johnathon is the only guy who comes to our house, and we are very comfortable with him. He truly knows his bugs and pests. They make recommendations without being pushy. They clean up cobwebs. They turn over rocks in the flowerbeds. We have been customers for a couple years now and just renewed for another year. I have no bugs, crickets, ants, mice, or any other pests in my house. Prior to hiring Permatreat, I could not say the same. We are very pleased with Permatreat and recommend them highly.

Don was very courteous and professional. He had all the right products that I had previously requested. He didn't stop with the kitchen. He took the time to check the up and downstairs' patios to find a source of the ants. He knocked down spiders in the front of the house. I was pleased with the service. I did not get an estimate as they do for most jobs-my priority was scheduling one trip that worked out with my employment. They were very accommodating but if I got the estimate I would have realized they only do jobs where they sell an "annual package" and return three more times in the year to keep pests away.

They are very professional and thorough. They take their shoes off when they come inside. Whenever I have had issues they've come right out. They are are very easy to deal with when it comes to sales because they are not pushy people.

I like the fact that we do not have to be home for them to spray. They have done the job well as we have not had any problems with termites. I would highly recommend them.

The man who always comes to my house is Bill and he is great. They are very thorough and they instruct us on what we can do to prevent pests and they also do a follow up if needed. I have hired other companies in the past, but they definitely stand out. We pay yearly.
