Excellent job employees were professional and friendly. Job was completed with a wonderful cleanup of debris. Would recommend this company for any style or type of roof.

Job went well, large roof with 3 different roof lines and gazebo style section over kitchen nook. They did have to remove a second layer of shingles and completed in two days were professional and answered all my questions.

I would like to say that a good and professional job was done here, but I can't. Mr. Mills came out and did an estimate for me to deal with the insurance company. I needed a roof replacement due to tree damage and had to fight with the insurance company . The roof job was scheduled and everything set up. Two days before the job was due to start, I received a call telling me that they had over booked themselves and would not be able to do the job. They were not willing to reschedule either. Because this happened at a busy time of year for construction I've had a hard time getting scheduled with a different company. This is completely unprofessional, and has really created a lot of problems for me and my home.

They were here on time and on the day we scheduled. They did exactly what they said they would do. And their price was very reasonable. The girls in the office were very helpful too.

John Mills roofing is absolutely one of the best companies in the area. Their team is fantastic, they are responsive, and their work is impeccable. I had them replace my roof and gutters, and they did an exceptional job. I would highly recommend them.

Very happy with the process. From the time of the estimate to completion of the job, the office employees were very nice and professional. The laborers were also nice and professional. They showed up on time, did the work and cleaned everything up. No issues at all. Would recommend this company if your looking for a roofer.

They removed the old shingles on our 4800 sq. ft. roof and replaced them with high-quality, 30-year, architectural shingles and a new synthetic paper backing. Additionally, they installed a new ridge venting system, as well as new 6" gutters and downspouts, that were cut to length on site. They replaced rotten wood where it was necessary too and had the lowest cost per sheet of plywood of any of the vendors that we had solicited. They worked fast and clean, systematically completing all of the work in three days. We wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Went well but I had one lower estimate and went with that company

The roofers did an excellent job removing and installing a brand new roof. They cleaned up extremely well. The gutters/downspouts were installed on a different day. The men came out and cut everything to specification and put everything in place in less than 1/2 a day. The communication with their office personnel was exceptional as she made sure all of my questions were answered full and clearly. There was minor damage to my porch from a ladder but nothing that I felt was a major issue. I would recommend this company to any of my close friends.

This company is just as I expected. The only "complaint" (if that's what you want to call it) I had was waiting for a date but then she called the day before and said she had an opening and if it was okay they would come in the morning. Fine by me! Im sure they were a little behind because of the weather and other projects that needed to get done before ours. I totally understand and last minute scheduling, it was fine with me. They came in the morning and left in the evening. The whole crew was nice and so hard working! They busted their behinds to give us a whole new roof in one day (really less). I didnt have a color I could chose before hand,so I had texted a picture to the owners wife and she said her husband could help me. He chose the perfect color!! A before and after picture would do justice for sure and i wish everyone could see! I even asked one of the workers if he liked the boss man and if they were treated well and he assured me that they were. I only asked because I never saw any of them take a single break or eating anything but he said they had. All very nice people! I would recommend this company to anyone! Their work is guaranteed and they aren't trying to rob people of an extra 10,000 like some of these larger companies. I had a quote for 15,000 to replace our roof which I would have NEVER paid. John Mills Roofing was reliable, honest, hard working, fair, and just good at what they do! Thank you so much to everyone! We love our new roof and I'm sure our neighbors do too because before our house was such an eye sore! Work is guaranteed and I love small family companies. I'd much rather give our dollar to them over some company like Paramount Builders who would have done the same exact work for 15,000 more. Please give this company a try if you're reading this! Overall rating, the work was very good. We requested a quote from John Mills and someone arrived same day. I then got a call later in the evening asking if I had any questions. I had not yet seen the estimate so at the time I did not have any. I didn't receive the quote for 2 weeks, and I had to follow up and ask for it. Once I received the quote i provided my color choice and asked for a date. I was told they would let me know when they had availability. I waited another 2 weeks before I emailed and asked for an estimated time frame for services (our roof was severely leaking). I then got an email that they would be out to fix the roof the next day. The roof was replaced same day and everything was cleaned and looks great. I would use them again, but the front office could have been better. We considered using another provider several times during our waiting period, however the cost of the roof is what kept us from using someone else. Overall, we are really happy with the roof.

He was really upfront. He came out, he did the job, he did it swiftly and he removed all of the debris and the job was very well done. I have not had any leaks in it. I would definitely use them in the future.

Outstanding job done at a fair price. Very professional, and obviously experienced, roofing crew arrived on time as scheduled each day. Immediately began work. Worked non-stop except for a quick lunch break each of the two days the job lasted. To prevent any damage to either the back deck or our shrubs near the house, the crew covered everything with heavy tarps while they tore off the old roof and installed the new one. No collateral damage done. After the first day's work, the crew cleaned and swept the entire yard, etc. as if it was the last day and they were not returning. Knowing they were coming back to work the next day, I told them it was not necessary to do all (what I considered) unnecessary extra effort cleaning up the yard, etc. The crew said they always do that anyway. (Note: When all the work was completed at the end of the second day, they cleaned up perfectly again. No complaints about the roofers leaving any trash, nails, shingles, etc. behind). The new roofs on both our house and large shed are exactly what my wife and I hoped for, and we could not be more pleased at this time. John Mills Roofing, Fredericksburg, Virginia is a very conscientious and professional roofing company. Based upon the job they did for us, I highly recommend them.

The roof looks absolutely great. They were on time and courteous. The only reason I gave them an overall "B" was because of the stray roofing nails in the yard and driveway. We've found six so far, two of which were in the tires of our new lawn mower. I found another one just this morning in the driveway when I stepped on it and it went through my flip flop, so I would recommend not going out in flip flops! I know it's hard to find every single nail, but somehow tires and flip flops are drawn to them like magnets! But, like I said, the roof looks fantastic!!

Mr. Mills responded quickly, scheduling was great, his folks were great, fast, polite, and roof looks great.

It went great! They fit me in quickly, gave me a competitive quote, and set up to do the work within a week. The weather didn't cooperate, but by the end of the second week, we had a new roof and a clean yard :-)

It took a while for my HOA to approve the plan after I had acquired several estimates from different roofers. I chose John Mills because of his good price and Angie's reviews. I called them back to arrange for them to start the work and it took a couple of calls and date changes before they arrived. One date was re-scheduled because he didn't have the right shingles available but when the crew did arrive, they did a fabulous job. The house looks great! No issues, easy to arrange payment. I would say John Mills are certainly good value for money and do great work.

I had called four roofers for estimates. I have a lot of history with home building and maintenance, and I was expecting trouble getting my roof replaced. John came out the day after I called him, went on the roof and gave me an estimate. I've only heard from one other roofer, and that was after I had already given John the job. I called John on Thursday 15 May 2014 to tell him to go ahead with the roof. We were going out of town for the weekend, and John said that he would do the roof on Monday while we were still out of town. We got a call from our Daughter-in-law on Saturday morning that there were people on the roof. John had decided to get to the roof two days early and get it done. I got back in town Monday afternoon and except for the beautiful roof and gutters, we couldn't tell anyone had been there. Great job, very easy to work with, extremely prompt and a good price! If word gets out, he'll have to put on another crew or two!! I know he will get my recommendation.

This company was excellent from the start of the process straight to the end! When I contacted John for an estimate, he came out the very next day. Out of three other roofers his estimate was the best I received. Once I called to schedule the appointment to have the roof installed the workers were at my house three days later, they were very punctual and finished the job in one day. In addition to the shingles, new flashing and vinyl ridge were also installed. All debris were cleaned up and the job was beautiful.

My experience with John Mills Roofing was a great one. I decided to call them for an estimate based on good reviews they've gotten here on Angie's List so far. I called on a Saturday afternoon and to my (very pleasant) surprise, I was told John was available to come give me an estimate that very afternoon! I've waited up to a week to get an estimate from other roofing companies, so I was really impressed. John was at my hours within a couple of hours after my call and have me by far the best price of the three quotes I'd received. I made the decision right then and there to hire him. He advised work could be completed within a week, which was another pleasant surprised based on the other quotes is gotten. Two days later, the roof was done and it looks great! They did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. You can't beat John Mills for price & promptness in my opinion.

We initially called on Saturday to see if we could get an estimate, his wife Sherri said he could be out at noon. He was on time and went on the roof to measure. That Saturday I tried to get an estimate from 2 other roofers and no one was available to come out till later in the week. I did get a couple more quotes, but Mr Mills was really the best, punctual and professional. I asked that they let me know if any roof deck may need to be replaced, he said they bring plenty of roof deck and only replace what needs to be done, and would call before hand. We only needed one piece. I pulled up that day to a new roof that looks fantastic!! Thank you so much!

Excellent workers, very prompt, went above and beyond what was necessary, Worked steady all day with only one half hour break for lunch. Very courteous. Left area very clean and trash free. Answered all questions . Very efficient

The workers arrived on time and worked until a strong storm came up in the afternoon,. They were forced to stop for a couple of hours and then continued until dark. They had to come back the next morning and finish up. They had a full crew and worked very hard. They were well-mannered, polite, and very hard working. The six-inch gutters are fantastic. The roof looks wonderful. They gave me several roofs in the area to view as I was having trouble picking a color. They were very patient!
