We hired Hivex to install a large family room and bathroom in our unfinished basement, along with a pantry, closet, and new exterior door. Overall, we are thrilled with this company and would hire them again! We really appreciated the thoroughness of their work and that they worked with us to keep our tight budget on track. During the initial quote/paperwork process, the owner, Dan, provided suggestions of items to cut to keep us on budget that we were happy to do ourselves (contrast this with another company that gave us a quote, who constantly tried to upsell and add-on work). And they didn't nickel-and-dime us, which took a lot of stress out of the project and really earned our trust. Their staff were all very courteous and professional. The project was completed on time and fairly smoothly. There were a few minor issues, things that held up the project a bit, normal stuff that you'd expect with any construction job of this scale - but Bob, our project manager, resolved them to our satisfaction, and was thorough about wrapping up several lingering details of our project. We would definitely recommend Hivex and appreciate their job well done for our beautiful new basement!

I’m very happy with my new basement. What I required was a basic outlay, but they came up with some added features that I’m very pleased with. Everything was done perfectly and meticulously. What I was really impressed with was the friendliness and professionalism of every member of their team starting with Bob, the project manager. Any request I had was answered with an “of course, we can do that”. I just wish they did other work besides basements.

The job went well, although it took a bit longer than estimated, which was fine, as we were out of town. A couple of items were not done correctly the first time, and had to be fixed, but overall we are satisfied with the end result. It is important to note that the price we paid got us walls, drywall, kitchenette/bar cabinet installation, lights and a custom bathroom (we paid extra for this, and provided the tile and grout). Countertops and design elements, including paint and flooring, will be up to you.

After receiving bids from multiple general contractors I learned quickly HIVEX was the way to go. While general contractors sub most of their work out, HIVEX employs their own certified plumbers and electricians. They also employ their own framing and drywall guys. This is where they undercut all general contractors. Even after utilizing my own paint and flooring guy HIVEX literally saved me $5000 from the next lowest general contractor bid. They pulled all my permits and I received copies of my final inspection. They also guarantee their work for life! I had multiple projects going on at the same time. I can easily say the basement (my biggest project) went the smoothest. I wish there were more companies like HIVEX to do other projects around my house!

We have been in our house for ten years with an unfinished basement and have searched for companies over the years, but have never been 100 percent serious. When we got serious, we had several contractors look at the basement and their pricing was completely unaffordable. Then we were lucky enough to come across Dan Beatts with Hivex. Dan met with us, and after ten years we thought we had our basement figured out of how we wanted it. Dan was able to give us new ideas that I believe cost them more money, but regardless of that, in his eyes, it made more sense to do things the way that he described. I can't say enough about their staff. Their staff is "employed by them" no subcontracing!!! It was a one on one experience with all of their crew. We were no happy to get to know all the individuals that get to work with their company. I can not say enough about this company and would be more than happy to show off their work to anyone in the market for a new basement renovation. Believe me, this isn't all the pictures. We've had people walk in our basement, and their jaw dropped. Hivex stands behind their work and if you have a problem down the road, they will take care of it. A + in my book!! So glad that we went with them!!

From start to finish, I could have not been more pleased with the process. Everyone I dealt with was very professional, knowledgeable and took pride in their work. My project manager, Mr. Bob Salo, kept the lines of communication open to ensure work was being completed to my satisfaction. I was informed of upcoming phases of work and the job flowed very smoothly. All of the skill sets (framing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) work for HIVEX--no subcontractors. I would highly recommend this company if you are contemplating remodeling your basement. Fantastic job!

Hivex did a wonderful job finishing my basement. I would (and have) highly recommend them when considering a basement remodel or finishing. Dan (Owner), Heath (Project Advisor) and Chris M. (GM) provided great advise and presented excellent professionalism throughout the build. The entire crew was 100% accountable and cared for our comfort from start to finish. Price quoted was the final price. Estimated date of completion was right on (and that was during the holiday season in DEC/JAN). We are VERY HAPPY with our new/improved basement!!

We got four estimates before going with this company. The other three salesmen tried to up sale us on all kinds of things like, dimmer switches, power outlets, custom baseboard, concrete work, etc. Dan from Dee Bee did not try to force us to buy anything. He gave great recommendations and did not charge us any extra money for the extra light switches, power outlets, custom baseboard, etc. With Dee Bee, it was all included in the price. Our final price was exactly what the initial estimate was. The work was professional and finished on time. Dee Bee did all the permitting with the county too. I strongly recommend this company for your basement project.

The entire project went very well. We developed the plan with the owner, Dan, who then turned it over to Chris (project manager) when it was time to start. Heath, our customer service liaison, was fantastic to work with and was always ready and willing to answer any and all questions. Finally, the team in the front office was very easy to work with as we made our payments at the end of each phase.

Dee Bee Home Improvement is an excellent company that strives to fully satisfy their customer in every detail. This was evident from the first meeting and the detailed estimate thy provided. They were the only company (of four estimates) that truly listened to our desires and made sure to explain all possible options and limitations ahead of each step in the process. Dee Bee was also the lowest of the four bids, by a considerable margin. They are a trustworthy, courteous and hardworking group of professional craftsman. Dee Bee Home Improvement did a complete redesign/renovation of our basement with approximately 740 square feet. The renovation of our basement included a proper egress and the addition of a bathroom, which was not previously plumbed out. The end was everything and more than we were hoping for. They provided amazing attention to detail and were incredibly responsiveness to our questions. These guys are full service -- from creating the design to following through in making it exactly as it was planned. Everyone we interacted with at this company, from the person answering the phone to the owners care and work hard to make one's renovations go smoothly. We would definitely use Dee Bee Home Improvement again and would highly recommend Dee Bee Home Improvement without reservation to anyone seeking a basement renovation.

DeeBee's expertise was evident putting forward a layout (which we did not even think initially) that made so much sense. My basement looks amazing, I can't wait to begin furnishing it. Pricing was below everyone else I contacted and the work was top notch! You can definitely trust DeeBee to get your basement finished to showroom quality. They were very professional, every single worker that cane through was very personable and respectful. If weekend work needed to happen the workers would always verify with me the earliest they could start so as not to wake up my family.Some hiccups occurred but all items addressed in a timely manner. Project took longer than usual with but this was conveyed and I told them to knock out the other customers first since I get that folks wanted to be finished for the holidays, I wasn't locked in on time so this didn't affect me

I could not be happier with my new basement. I had a few contractors come by and give me some ideas for a basic setup downstairs, just a bedroom and bath with a storage room. None of their ideas were very appealing. Then DeeBee came in with guns blazing! They had a team of guys come in and take measurements. They began describing several ideas on how best to utilize the space down there. The project folder they had contained photos of projects they had previously completed so we could get a good idea of what it would look like down there. They got started promptly on the project and they had it all done up in about 9 weeks. All of their suggestions worked out perfectly and we're so very happy with the end result. By the time they left we had a wet bar, media room, pool table room and a bed and bathroom. We love entertaining down there and we've received tons of compliments on the work they did for us. I was very impressed with their work and professionalism. I would most definitely look to them first for any future projects before I go anywhere else.

From the first phone call, everyone at Dee Bee's is friendly and professional. Each person that came to our house was a Dee Bee employee with a company shirt. Each team of professionals was efficient and made sure we were completely satisfied. We were regularly updated about what was going on with the job so we knew what to expect in the coming days. They gave us a quote at the beginning and that was the final price at the end of the job. Communication was excellent throughout the project.

Work was done within the contracted time frame and budget. All tradesman and staff were very professional and my wife and I are very pleased with the end result. I would certainly use Dee Bee again without reservation.

Dee Bee was an absolute pleasure to work with! They really take their time to listen to your wants and needs. We had a very large basement to finish with a full kitchen, full bathroom, bedroom/office, large living room, collectable room, and multiple storage closets. They kept on track and completed it on time. They made things happen in our design that other contractors were hesitant to discuss, such as moving plumbing. This plumbing business was a big deal for us since it was originally placed so poorly by the builder. However, Dan actually suggested the idea at our first meeting, and most importantly it was a fair and affordable price! These guys are all great, every one of them. I wish I could remember all of their names... Dan, Chris, Heath, the plumbers, electricians, framing crew, and tile guy. They have a couple guys that are jack-of -all-trades types and tend to all the little details. They tend to details such as keeping things carefully locked, reasonably cleaned up, and looking out for your pets. You can trust this company. If you call or email, they will answer. Have a concern, they will address it. They will address issues you never even noticed- they are honest. They will let you be involved, give you options, and personalize your project to your liking. This is not a cookie-cutter company, they even involved us in design and placement of shelving in closets. They will not be the cheapest or the most expensive, but I believe they were the best value we could have asked for and the best finished product we could have imagined. It's been almost 6 months since our project was done and we have had no problems at all... Though I am confident that they would be on it right away if we needed them. These guys are the best contractors we have ever hired and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

It generally went well with few minor issues. The workers were generally punctual, pleasant and responsive. The overall quality of the work was very good. Would recommend a "coordination" schedule / checklist to better ensure delivery of home owner supplied items with the construction schedule.

It went very smoothly. No problems with the company at all. They went out of their way to please us with the project. If we wanted a wall built, no problem or extra cost. If we wanted a wall taken out, no problem and no extra cost. Their work was fast, efficient and very, very well done. Dee Bee was professional and did an outstanding job. They took every step to keep my home clean during the process and kept me informed of all details. I would hire them again.

Started with a phone call to ask for an estimate and scheduling the free estimate visit was easy, we took bids from a few places, the owner came out and walked through the basement, listened to what we were looking for, offered some input, gave us our quote (was 12,000 less than one and slightly less than a second bid) and we didn't feel pressured during his visit, there was no pressure to make a decision on picking them. He was clear about the timeline from when we made our choice to use them to when the work would start and about the approximate completion. Came out again with a designer to do an official drawing of the floor plan and take measurements and they were great about listening to what we wanted and offered solutions to some of the unique qualities of the space. They offered to help empty out the basement. They were clear on the timeline and got paid as the milestones were reached. They were as clean as I could expect. Our house stayed secure as the construction area was locked from the upstairs and they brought workers and equipment through the escape window. They followed up to ensure we were clear on what was happening and were good about changes as we were going through the construction. They walked through it with us multiple times to ensure we were ok with the quality of the work as it progressed. They let us pick all our equipment (appliances, hardware, shower door) not from a list of approved items but from wherever we wanted and they installed it all. Finished it on time.

The team was very professional and helped us out at every phase of the process. From the very beginning, when Dan came out to see us, and all throughout the process, we were always given accurate and detailed information. They helped us plan and gave us suggestions when we weren't sure about where we were headed in the project. The team cleaned up after themselves during every phase of the project. The project managers, Chris and Heath, were always accessible and answered phone calls and emails promptly. They accommodated us whenever we changed and added on things to the project itself. There was never a discrepancy or misinformation about our contract or any additional costs. Abel, who headed up the framing team, even discovered a crack in our structural wall, which had let in moisture. Luckily for him, we were able to get it fixed and go ahead with our project. The best part of using Dee Bee Construction was that they have really high standards and it showed with every member of their team. If we weren't happy with how something looked, they were happy to change it. The project was divided into phases, first the framing, electrical, plumbing, and drywall. Each phase was completed in the timeframe they had said, even when we added in things like soundproofing the ceiling. We would highly recommend Dee Bee Construction if you are planning to finish your basement.
