D&L Mechanical failed to properly diagnose an HVAC issue in my house as part of a warranty claim and instead tried to get me to buy a whole new system. Their technician (or commissioned sales guy) stated my compressor was out of order, even though another company tested the machine the next day and found it to be fully operational. The issue was a piece of detached duct work tubing that was repaired by re-taping the tubing to the distribution box. D&L's technician did not see this while upstairs in my attic somehow, but did see that a "mouse had chewed some piping insulation". It would not have fit his narrative of needing a new system I'm sure. When asked for a refund of the cost to properly repair the problem, the owner called me and refused to do so after originally saying he would pay me back for the warranty company copay. His reason to change his mind...I told him I was likely to write a negative review...so he got angry and hung up on my after screaming at me. I've learned a lot about this guy Darren Billington and I hope he enjoys the profits from his book about trade secrets of the HVAC scam artists....interesting that he has a $10 book on the topic that he mentioned 11 times on the phone. Stay away...or at least get a second opinion before choosing these guys.

Do not hire them. Huge huge integrity issue. They came to diagnose my heat pump/ac unit figured it out. Well because I didn't hire them on, they pulled the breaker out on the outside box so my ac wouldn't work - which was working prior to them leaving. I have 2 kids just unbelievable.

On a hot summer day our 10+ year old Heat Pump decided to go belly-up and based on a recommendation of a friend, I called D&L Mechanical. They responded to my call for help promptly and prepared three (3) quotes outlining different CIR (efficiency) levels and associated costs. We made our choice and the unit was on order within hours. The installation team showed up in two company vehicles with the new inside and outside units. The technicians were masters at removal, replacement and final check-out. The company owner showed up later in the morning to assist with a special piece of duct-work that was needed. He ran back to the warehouse and fabricated the custom piece while his technicians stayed busy with other aspects of the installation. I was very impressed at the level of professionalism and follow-up. I highly recommend D&L and use them for the bi-yearly maintenance on the system.

Great working with D&L. They gave us a discount and installed the system in one day and within a few days of when we ordered.

I was very impressed with Mr. Billington and D&L Mechanical Services. Mr. Billington came out quickly and got right to work. Thank goodness it was only a loose wire and reset button that needed to be fixed, but Mr. Billington checked over the whole furnace and gave me many tips to help with our heating efficiency and safety. He also was able to discuss the process of switching from an oil furnace to a heat pump and gave an incredibly reasonable offer on converting. In fact, I will be scheduling them again soon to do an inspection and cleaning of the furnace as well as to convert the thermostat to a digital one. I would definitly give D&L Mechanical Services 5 STARS!!!!!
