This company has en employee that uses their van to purchase alcohol and not only drive it drunk but come on to peoples property and call them a n*****. And then was so drunk tried to come out and apologize. It's only a matter of time before they do this to the wrong person.
Description of Work: I needed for him to stay off my property.

They installed a new water system in December of 2014 and it did not work. They came out on 5 different occasions to try and fix the problem, which was in my contract, but they could not make the water clear. In March they stated that if they came out any additional times going forward that there will be extra charges. I do not believe I should pay extra if it was not working from the beginning. My system is still not working. I have asked for a refund for my system and they declined. . The installation was done in Dec 3, 2014, the first call to Crystal Clear water treatment was 12/22/2014 they have found still hard the water 3 grains hard found lose connection. Second time 12/31/2014 still 3 +grains hard the technical override the system to clean softer once a week. In Jan 2015 the same again still the water hard. Third visit on 2/23/2014 they came without me knowing about it I wasn't there to verify if the issue was fix . Last 3/17/2015 the water still hard no change they continue replacement parts. I have contact the main office of Rain Soft they tell me that couldn't help me with the system that I need to call them back.

Response from Crystal Clear Water Treatment Inc
There are multiple inaccuracies with [Member's name removed] claims. [Member's name removed] is correct in saying there was an issue on 12-22-14. The water tested 3 GPG Hard + it should have tested 0-1 GPG Hard. Troubleshooting this problem took 2 additional visits. Part of the problem was an obstruction in the drain line, likely due to customers pressure gauge malfunctioning. This was not a malfunction of the equipment or a service error. We cleared the obstruction + even replaced the gauge which is unrelated to the water treatment, system for free. A Service call on 2/10/15 confirmed everything was working. The service call on 3/3 also tested properly. [Member's name removed] insists on our coming out every two to four weeks even though three is no issue. The customer has been informed that there will be a charge if there is not issue but the call will be free if there is a real problem.

However, their was a disconnect between the home office and the team which forced them to sit around. The paperwork for the transaction was atrocious, Having simply printed in pen on the back of a half sheet of paper. You would expect the firm to have quality throughout the process, especially at these prices.
Description of Work: The installation team arrived on time and completed their work promptly.

Very offended at Mr Bobby Brown (if that's his real name) by mandating that it be a family-inclusive function as a prerequisite to having our water serviced. Gents (...yes you at Crystal Clear Water)...I'm pretty sure I was willing to order services from you. I don't need a slicked back suit and tie telling me that my water can be better, and how. I'M A MARINE AND OUR FAMILY DOESN'T have time to play these types of biased, sales tactics with dependencies of this type. When I ask for a technical evaluation, I expect and deserve an effective individual who has enough courage to SELL ME simply with his/her honesty and logic. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LEVEL OF INTEGRITY YOU HAVE EXHIBITED TODAY.
Description of Work: WHY IS IT NECESSARY FOR MY SPOUSE TO BE AT THE INITIAL SALES PITCH?...apparently, that was a requirement for service.

I spoke to a person at the office, I believe it was the owner, who said they would send Johnny who would fix the system for free. Apparently the upper assembly needed a new valve. I appreciated this fellow's work and he did show that he knew about water systems. It seems the company was making an effort to repair their reputation and make up for the initial bad experience at my home. I was not a member of Angie's List at the time. I was avoiding another outfit who I had had a bad experience with and so hired this firm. Same story with the former firm; they were trying to sell me a new system. There is nothing wrong with the current system. My low rating concerns the initial fellow that was set out. The second fellow, Johnny, was really fine.
Description of Work: I met the water system service fellow who arrived with a bucket and wrench. He checked the pH of the water at the tap and looked at the system registration. The pH of the water coming out of the tap, he said, was 5.5 (way low) and he told me I needed a new system and that the whole upper assembly involving valves was old and broken. I declined to do anything that day and called their office. I know something about water chemistry and didn't believe the pH story. The real pH was around 7.0; clearly this fellow was telling stories.

Rip-off!
Description of Work: This company is a rip-off. They send out techs without any knowledge or skill. The tech shows up with a 5 gallon bucket and a pair of pliers. He had No knowledge on how to fix anything. He said we needed a New system for $3500.00. I had another company fix the clogged injector for $40.00. Beware!,,,,

The guys who installed the UV system didn't tighten the pipes, I went down the next day to get something out of my basemt and there was water all over, not flooded but a lot of water. I shut off our pump to our well and I called the company but they weren't open yet, I called the salesman but got no answer. I went back down and was able to put a bucket under the leak and tried the co. again. They finally answered and said since I had it under control they would send someone as soon as they could. About 2 hrs later the Service Mgr. came and fixed the problem. He was very helpful, he crawled back under the steps to clean up water, I don't go where spiders go so I REALLY appreciated this. He cleaned up all the water, put stuff up so it wouldn't get wet and gave a few "freebies" for the trouble. They have been very good at responding. The price was a bit of a surprise (little high) but all in all the service was good. Working with the company was a pretty good experience and would use them again even if they weren't the reps in our area for our water softener system.
Description of Work: Did a tune-up on our water softener system, installed a UV Disinfection System and a Acid Neutralizing Water Treatmt System.

Crystal Clear Water is one of the worst companies to deal with in all regards - customer service, professionalism, price, quality of service and know-how. After buying a system through them 5 years ago, I recently needed to get the tanks re-installed while I was renovating and installing new plumbing. My previous tenants ravaged the house, so a lot of work needed to be done, and my contractor willingly discussed most of the services needed with Crystal Clear Water since he was aware of all of the plumbing issues. They worked out a date to come out and set up the tanks, however the servicemen did not listen to my contractor when he told them it needed to be flushed and probably re-lined inside. Instead, they left, charged me $300+ for the installation and later said it was going to cost another $150 for the next service call. Keep in mind they didn't even test to see if the system worked after the installation. After completing the renovations on the rental house, my contractor noticed the system was not working at all, and contacted Crystal Clear Water to again request that the tanks be fully serviced. This time they refused to come out unless I paid the $150 service charge up front. When they finally did come out, they were late, rude, and unprofessional. Trash and debris were left in the yard and they tried harassing my contractor to pay the service fee. When they realized he was not going to pay them, they left in a huff, stating there was an "emergency" and had to leave the timer on to shut off the system when the flush was completed. Unfortunately, the timer was faulty and never shut the running water off, which ended up flooding my yard for over 6 hours. Luckily I have very kind neighbors who heard the water rushing in my yard and had to short my well wires in order to totally shut off the water. When CCW was contacted about the flooding, again they were rude and took no responsibility for the damage. Instead the lady who answers the phone told me my charge was going to be $375 for everything they "completed." I was in total shock. Of course, come to find out, the lady who answers the phones is the wife of the owner/manager and the owner/manager was the one who left the faulty timer on and caused the flood - so neither of them wanted to take responsibility. Instead they prefer to prey on paying customers who have no other choice but to use their service since CCW is who I bought the system from. I have fully paid for the system, and yet they continue to treat me like I am a delinquent customer. After further complaints from myself and my contractor, the owner/manager came out and installed a new timer for no charge and acted like he was doing me a favor. In any case, I reported CCW to the Better Business Bureau for their predatory and unprofessional actions, which is where I found out they've had over 8 complaints in 2 years (much more than any other similar company in the area). Once the owner/manager realized I was reporting them to the BBB, I received a bill for $600 instead of the $375 they quoted over the phone. And then told the Better Business Bureau they would be kind enough to reduce it to $300 to help close the complaint. Apparently I have also been put on what they called a "red flag list" so that I cannot request any further service calls (as if I would want them on my property ever again). Unfortunately this behavior is their usual manner of business as you will find all negative complaints on any review website once you start searching around. They are the worst business to ever deal with and I can only recommend that you run fast and far away from them. I will be switching to Pristine Water Treatment who will service other businesses water filtration systems, thankfully. Good riddance Crystal Clear Water!!!!

I have dealt with Crystal Clear Water for over 8 years now. They were prompt when I called them the first time when I was having a problem with the RainSoft equipment in the home I had just purchased. The technicians were very helpful and professional. The lady's in the office are very nice and are always willing to work with me. RainSoft is the best water filtration equipment out there on the market for your home. I wouldn't go with anyone else! They may be alittle more in cost - but you get what you pay for!!

Heads up - CAUTION. This USED to be a reliable, professional, locally owned company named McLean Engineering. We had used them for 15 years. Since they were bought out, any "checkup" visit is only about selling. We were told we had a serious water quality problem and must replace our system ASAP (price quote over 3,000). My husband took water samples and sent them to a lab. They came back 100% perfect, no problems at all. Then they came back with another 'you must do something now - -your system is worn out and it will be 2500 to replace. We contacted another service - got another year and a half of good function and then replaced the entire system for $1,000. Be VERY careful; this is not the company that it used to be.
Description of Work: The predecessor company installed a water system for us when the house was built. We continued to use them for yearly service. As soon as the purchasing company started doing the servicing, it was all about buying a new system, not about maintenance. More below.

Description of Work: While the customer service representatives on the phone were kind and professional the overall experience the day of the sales estimate was terrible at best. After asking how we would need to be prepared we were told just to have both members of the house present and it would take 45 minutes to an hour of our time. The sales representative showed up and immediately put us to work asking for a mixing bowl, a wash cloth, glassware and paper towels. The presentation got started and while some parts were informative, if we ever stopped to ask her any questions, she never could answer any. It was clearly a scripted presentation and she was clearly "stumped" by any variance from it. It was awkward and uncomfortable and she became irritable as we asked more questions. When she asked us our household expenses she became even more irritated with us when we questioned certain aspects of her "return on investment" report she was doing at the end of her overly sales pitchy infomercial presentation. We simply wanted to understand how the numbers were being calculated. Once she put the cost in front of us (after telling us she was going to "throw in a FREE air filter and FREE something else") the cost was laughable and entirely out of the range of two other vendors. When we asked what the cost of just the water neautrilizer/acid filter was she responded that she did not know/could not do that. She said she would have to call her boss. Then she asked to use OUR PHONE to call her boss. So, not only did she not come prepared with her materials; not only did we feel like we were watching a terrible infomercial; but now, in 2012, the sales representative shows up without a cell phone and asks to use our phone? Then, we realized why she did this. This was all part of the "set up". It was part of the script. She calls in and does this in front of us and pretends to act like she can't believe how terrible our situation is and how dire our need is when she explains it to her manager. At that point, my frustration was at an all time high and luckily she sensed it and said to her manager "I have managed to tick her off (referring to me)". Any other professional sales representative would have smoothly gotten off of the phone and kindly packed up her stuff and left. Instead, she said that and complained to us that she had "new sales managers, that made them call in now...and they don't have the ability to quote separate pricing with these new managers". I explained to her that they should provide them with cell phones then. RUN as far as you can. Do not waste an HOUR AND A HALF OF YOUR TIME WITH THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY THAT HAS THEIR REPS SHOW UP UNPREPARED AND WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE IN THEIR FIELD. We are so happy with the company we called back that day and kindly wrote a check for $3500 THAT DAY to another company. Professional, courteous, knowledgable. Not sales pitchy!!

It went fine. The service technician was great - friendly, productive, and helpful. Even though they were out of potassium, he said he'd return to recharge it when they got their supply at no additional service charge. We purchased these systems from them back in 2003 and have been very satisfied with both the products and Crystal Clear's service these last 9 years. Couple of things: They will call when they've scheduled another home in your area around the time for your annual service call. If you go ahead and have them come out when they're in the area, they give you a 10-20% break on the cost of the service fee. Two of our tanks needed new motors after we'd had them for about 8 years. The lifetime warranty covers the "tanks and valves." The electrical parts are only warranted for 5 years, and they give you a pro-rated cost thereafter. I didn't read the entire warranty when we purchased the units and was surprised when we had to pay for the service call and the pro-rated parts. The new motors had to be replaced within about a month, which they did at no charge, and they've been working fine since.
Description of Work: This was our annual service visit. He recharged our RainSoft water softener, acid neutralizer, and iron/sulphur filtration systems. He back-washed the systems to make sure they're all working properly, and replaced an injector on one of the systems. $150 for the Service Visit $80 to Recharge the iron/sulpher tank It's also normally $80 to recharge the acid neutralizer, but they were out of potassium at the time. Our annual fee for servicing our system is usually about $300.

This company sells and services the Rain Soft water treatment systems. I purchased my Acid Netrualizer from them 12 years ago and the valve assembly broke last week. The valve is warranted for the lifetime of the original purchaser and I contacted them and they came out the next work day. They were on time, professional, honored the warranty, repaired the product and I was charged their standard Service Call rate of $140.00. They have a great product and an Outstanding Service Staff.
Description of Work: This is a water treatment company. I could not add this cattegory. They replaced the main valve in the RainSoft water acid netrulizer along with the sheer pin of the movement assembly.
