At Ease Home/Environmental Inspections were perfect. They taught me stuff and helped me feel comfortable about buying our home.

Paul did my inspection and he is very through. As he inspected each area of the house he gave me excellent tips on home care as well as suggestions on preventive care to keep issues from happening in the future. Paul even offered to come back once the homeowner had the repairs done so I could be assured that the repairs were done correctly.

Inspector did an excellent job. Was thorough, explained everything he was doing in detail and his findings at the end. The report was comprehensive but I found the post inspection verbal walk through the most useful. His use of a thermal imaging gun uncovered items that would have been missed by other inspection techniques. We had all the information we needed to negotiate with the sellers on must fix and nice to fix items.

Issues: poor communication late lied about work done destroyed area they weren't supposed to touch Found mold under the master shower - that work was fine. I then hired them to fix the shower and had to fire them after the second day they showed up. Sub showed up two hours late both days scheduled with no notice or contact. I had to reach out to the owner to get updates. Poor communication between owner and sub. The sub was unaware of the things we needed done - replace subfloor (this was the whole reason we did the job), covering the area with plastic to reduce dust and debris in the room, cutting tile all the way to the edge, and cutting tile on ledge. After working only 1 1/2 hrs on day two, the sub decided to leave. We asked him the current status and plan and he said he replaced the subfloor, but when we lifted up hardiback, it was the same floor, water stains/mold and all. They also destroyed the surrounding bullnose tile because they used a hammer vs scrapping out the grout and doing a more controlled removal near the edges. Now I have to pay to have all of this fixed. Must have used a hand saw for the hardiback too - all the edges were jagged instead of clean and were not cut to cover the whole surface - wasn't flush to the edges or behind the faucet.

My husband and I were pleased with the inspection. Paul is friendly and professional. He gave us advice on what type of outdoor lighting to place at the rear of our home. He also recommended we get foam insulation for our unfinished rooms. We mentioned that the sliding back door in the basement would not lock. He volunteered to try to see if he could fix it. After examining the door he discovered that it was not lined-up properly on the door track. He got his tools and managed to put the door on the track so the door would lock. I appreciate that he volunteered to do this. I was pleasantly surprised that he went out of his way to fix our problem. Paul told us he would do a follow-up inspection at no charge in 6 months. We're coming up on our one year move-in anniversary and I will take Paul up on his offer.

Company was very quick to respond, they were very professional and knowledgeable in their craft. They didn't just come in and leave quickly, they took their time and made sure that all aspects of the home were inspected, I received a detailed report within 48/ hours of the inspection to include photos as well as information on remediation and prevention as well as health risks. I would highly recommend this company.
