Description of Work: We did not use Jennings, but neighbors whose property is very close to ours did--and the work went on for 7-8 months. It was an elaborate landscaping project, involving all sorts of heavy equipment, disruption of the earth, lots of workers, infinite stone cutting and placement, and a terrible disruption of our lives. Because we were the victims of lengthy torture--and that is just what it was--I feel justified in commenting. The work in and of itself was often unbelievably noisy, and the workers often made a bad situation worse with their lengthy cell phone conversations, their loud storytelling, their breaks right under our screen porch. Even when our house was sealed (heat, ac), the human noise penetrated. Occasionally, radio blares added to our misery, although that problem was thankfully kept to a minimum. The dust and dirt were awful-- At times, work detritus was on our property, and we would have to call a Jennings supervisor to have it removed. Perhaps the most serious and shocking problem occurred over the summer and into the fall: The men would cover portions of the work area with large tarps. Rain water filled these tarps, which were rarely if ever emptied. For four months or more, a number of large pools of standing water, breeding mosquitoes and who knows what else, were adjacent to our property. We could not believe that a reputable landscaper would have allowed this to happen. The end result might be fine--we so hated the process that we can't be objective. Because of the lay of the land, involving a steep ravine, it was a very challenging project. But if you are thinking about hiring Jennings and if you care about your neighbors, lay some firm ground rules, especially if you don't expect to be around for much of the work.
