This has been the most horrible experience ever. I ordered the cabinets and was told they would be in 2-3 from order date. The cabinets come in and my installer goes to install them and I was missing a cabinet and three different cabinets were the wrong size. I was told oh I thought that cabinet belonged to someone else. They supposedly ordered the right cabinets right away and put a rush on them. When my installer contacted them about the wrong size cabinets he comes out and acts as if it my installers fault and tells my installer oh I must have been drunk when I measured these. He never once called me the customer to even let me know the situation or to give me an approximate date of when they would be in. When he met with my installer and I finally talked to them because I called he said he would install the cabinets since it was his mess up. I had to call them then they take quite a while to give you an answer. There is always some excuse as to why something is not right or why it takes so long for them to contact you back. I think 3 business days is plenty of time to at least call and say I got your message and am looking into it or whatever. Isn't that customer service? It really shouldn't be three business days. I then realized that these were not the doors I wanted. I explained to them from the first time I ever went into the business that I wanted raised panel doors that I did not like the flat panel. I contacted them and he says oh well this is what you ordered. I had received a different quote from the original to go with a little cheaper material that was not all plywood and to not have dovetail drawers. Never once was it said the doors would be different. He tried to tell me if I wanted raised panel doors that I would have to pay $1200 more to get those doors. The first quote he gave me that would have been all plywood with dovetail drawers would not have cost $1200 more, so how are just doors going to cost $1200 more. He comes out to my house and tells me well I want to ensure you are happy that I'm going to make this right and I will just order another set of cabinets and swap the doors and then sell those cabinets. I said that's fine. I was told this would not affect the functionality of my kitchen. I didn't even have a countertop. I kept being told different stories about the countertop saying it was in but the installer was telling me the material wasn't in. It was around the 3rd week before I got a countertop. I had to call regarding the missing measured wrong cabinets and the assistant told me the cabinets were in and they would call me back to schedule the delivery. I called the following Monday and he tells me he is on a job and then tries to tell me his assistant told me the delivery date not that she told me the cabinets were there. I knew it was the cabinets were in because remember he put a rush on them, but it whad been three weeks. There wasn?t a rush on my original cabinet order and they took 3 weeks to come in. He then tells me that he can't even deliver the cabinets until Friday. I said here is another week without my kitchen. He finally came to install the remaining 3 cabinets on the 17th. I am still missing a door from the original delivered order that was damaged. I sent a text on Wednesday to ask him about the width of the cabinets that came in. He answers me in an email on the following Monday. I call last week to find out about the doors I was promised for the raised panel. He responds in the same email regarding the text I sent. They tell me that oh well here is the contract and we can't afford to take care of this if you want the doors you will have to pay an additional 1200 as we will use 450 as a credit and you have to pay the difference of 700. He told me over a month ago he was ordering the doors and making this right. Even the guy that came out to install the countertop said he told him about it and that the owner said he was going to make it right. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I tried to support since they are a small business, but this makes me not want to do it again. I plan on responding this evening to the email I received yesterday from them, but do not feel it will go anywhere as they make promises and don?t keep them regarding delivery dates and anything they can to get your business. I have been lied to so many times by this company. I kept trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but 6 weeks without a kitchen is ridiculous and still ongoing.

Response from Cabinets By Affordable Kitchens
We began working with this customer in March/April. We provided several layouts and cabinet options for her. We provided different price point options which included different doors styles. The final decision in terms of which option was chosen took place verbally at the clients home and was not in writing. However we did ask the client to sign an invoice which included all of the cabinet information along with counter top selection and sink selection. The original option for all plywood construction with a raised panel door came in around $5,300 for cabinets only. There was another option for raised panel doors with standard construction that was around $4,900 for cabinets only. The final choice was a flat panel door in standard construction that came in at $4,189.39 for cabinets only. As you can see there is a little over $1,100.00 difference between the original estimate and the ordered product. The order was placed on 4/23/13 and arrived at our office on 5/3/13. The product was delivered to the home owner on 5/10/13, this date was chosen by the home owner due to other work taking place in the home. The wrong size cabinets were noticed at the time of installation. When we went back to re-measure the space, the installer (hired by the homeowner) actually, made the drunk comment. We tried to put a rush on the new cabinets but the color that was selected is a non stock item so we notified the homeowner by email on 5/17/13 that the cabinets would arrive in 2-3 weeks. The cabinets arrived to us on 5/31/13. We tried for a couple of different installation dates but because of schedule conflicts with both parties we were unable to install them until 6/17/13. There was one damaged door from the original order that was an oversight that door did not get ordered until 6/17/13 and was delivered to the home owner on 7/15/13 but should have not impacted the kitchen other than aesthetically. At the beginning of the project the homeowner was notified that a template for the counter top could not be made until the base cabinets were installed. The wrongs size cabinets did not affect the template or counter installation. The cabinet installation was not part of our project scope and the time line of the installation was out of our control. The counter installer visited the home on 5/22/13 to make the template and the sink arrived to our office the same day. The counter was completed and installed on 5/29/13. When the counter installer visited he notified us of some concerns regarding the way the cabinets were installed. As installation was not part of our project scope we wanted to make sure that the integrity of the cabinets had not been compromised. For instance, we noted that only one screw was holding the corner wall cabinet in place. The installer did not use correct measurements for modern day appliances and used extra pieces where they were not necessary. This resulted in material loss that was intended for use in the original layout. We did not collect the remaining balance due for the sink ($400) because of the issues on this particular job. We would like to see our customer happy but would also like to compromise based on the fact that we have a signed agreement with all of the cabinet information listed on it. We would be happy to order the new raised panel doors, but are asking the customer provides part of the funds to do so. We did look into ordering all new cabinets for this project however as a small business it was not feasible to do so at this time.
