We apologize but we do not install tank water heaters and electric tankless water heaters.
I live in a home that was built in 1996, so its almost 16 years old. Its not anything different than most homes built in the last 16 years in the area. I was very excited the get the terrific Rinnai water heater installed after researching it and an estimate on Friday. I lost my current water heater on Thursday so I needed one pretty quick. Unfortunately they dont do weekend work and had to wait until Monday afternoon for the work to start and the rest to be done on Tuesday. I was told they were pushing me ahead of other work so i was appreciative, but I was on my 5th day with out hot water, the 2 guys came late to start the work and then spent 2 hours to go through all the alternatives that the estimator should have informed me about and didn't catch. Long story short, there were vent issues that required a new vent and there was no good locations in the current water heater area. The only location left was the garage which had 2 issues: exposed water pipes in an unheated garage and the most troubling part is they didn't know if it would pass code in Loudoun County. Well it turned out the only alternative and although I had reservations, asked if they could ask the county about the issues and get started the next day.......I got the sense they were dubious about the job and I was certainly not happy how they could not answer the inspector/code issue. That last part was certainly the nail in the coffin. So I waited 5 days with no hot water (luckily I have access nearby of a shower) and had to request a day off to be at home to get the unit installed that never happened. I am sure the technology is terrific but buyers need to be aware of the issues such certain area water types as those in Loudoun....if the water has high acidity and chlorine is high it can cause you to have to clean the heating element area of the tankless system. So instead of paying about $3600 and potentially have issue because of the water type, I am getting a friend that owns his own plumbing company install a traditional 50 gal tank of commercial grade (not the kind full of plastic from the big box stores, a commercial grade one) and he gave me a good break on the total costs, 6 year total warranty too with a lifetime expectancy of at least 15 years, more if you have or get a water system protection tank (definitely worth it for $100 installed). Got an education albeit a cold water one, and know everything I will need to know for the next home. They are nice people (Ed , Linda and the guys that showed all the problems) and certainly know their business and technology. But they might not be a good fit for LCSA customers until the water is less acidic, plus until they know the Loudoun code better or at least have better relationship with Loudoun inspectors (might not be possible since when they inspect its not by the book, but also their opinion). Great technology, but bad house for it. DO your homework and then ask the estimator questions to make sure you house is adequate to install the new vents and condensation lines. Plus the unit needs to be close to an outlet. Oh and Linda felt terrible about all the trouble and although I didn't spend a dime on their services or products, she gave a very small voucher that I was able to use afterall. That was nice.
Description of Work: My water heater blew on a Thursday and I had fortunately been researching these tankless water heaters. I found this comapany via Angies. Estimate on a Friday and then actual installation was to occur on Monday and Tuesday (had to go 5 days without any hot water). However, after over 2 hours of discussion on Monday with the installers we determined that it wasn't going to work to install the tankless water heater. The only option was to be in the garage which is unheated and they didn't know if it would pass code. Result: no work and 4 wasted days waiting. To their credit, they exhausted all options and didn't just give up easily.

I'm very pleased with the overall process. Ed Clark, the owner, came out to look at the job and give us a quote. I had done a significant amount of research on tankless systems, and particularly the Rinnai product line, and knew this would be a big job. I also new that there would be issues with the venting. As we looked over the installation possiblities, it became apparent that we would need to relocate the water heater from the existing location. This ultimatly created 2 jobs because of having to tap into new water line, and capping the old locations. Then also, issues with Loudoun County coding was presenting additional challenges for the location we ultimately selected. After we decided on a location, Ed took the time to explain what to expect with the tankless water heater (some of what I had already discovered, some which was new). I had the quote within 2 days. Since I have a friend that had already installed the same brand heater 2 years ago, I called to see how reasonalbe the estimate was and was told my estimate was extremely reasonable. I accepted the proposal 2 days later. The holidays and end of year rush delayed my install date, but this was even reasonable. I just concerned my existing heater would last (the hot water was barely lasting 1 shower). Install day came and 2 days later we have a new water heater. The work that Todd did was very professional, he answered my questions as I asked during the install, and wasn't put off by my hanging around. I'm very pleased with my experience on this job. I only wish my previous experiences with other contractors I've used were as good as this.
Description of Work: Tankless Concepts installed a new, tankless water heater. The water heater had to be relocated from its current location to minimize venting. This involved mounting a plywood wall on our basement wall, cutting a new hole for the vent, making new taps into the water lines, removing my existing water heater, and closing off the water pipes at the old location.

I really liked them, they have very good ratings. I talked to the owner, he offered to come out right away for an estimate, he came out, explained everything in detail, and gave me a fair offer. It was less than others I had seen. They came out earlier than I thought and got it done. They were very quick and thorough. They did a great job. The guy that did the install was very knowledgeable. They went above and beyond.
Description of Work: We called tankless concepts after reading their many positive reviews on Angie's list. Just as was described in several of the reports, Ed came out to my house later that day and took the time to explain in detail the pros and cons of tankless so that we would know exactly what we were buying. There was no pressure in his approach. The next day I had a solid quote with instructions on how to get many related rebates--most of which were set to expire in a few weeks. We decided to go with Tankless concepts, called up Ed, and they worked very hard to ensure that the install was completed before the rebates expired. The install team was efficient and went the extra mile, taking care to improve the overall drainage system in my utility room by bringing together into one system the water heater, AC , and the Humidifier drains. They also took the time to reinstall and bring up to code my water connection to the humidifier. Tankless concepts is a great company and one that I am proud to be associated with. I fully recommend this company.

Everyone at Tankless Concepts was awesome. Linda held my hand from my initial contact*, through the estimate visit, proposal, and scheduling of the actual installation. Tankless Concepts handled everything with Washington Gas to have my meter upgraded, and it all went off without a hitch. (See below for the reason I initially contacted Tankless Concepts) Linda worked with me via email and by phone to set up an appointment for Ed to come see the space and gather the information he needed to make a proposal. Ed showed up right on time, was thorough and answered all of my questions, and only took about 20-30 minutes to do the whole evaluation. I had the proposal in-hand within two days with no pressure to send it back right away. At one point during our communications, Linda apologized for taking a little while to get back to me, because she was at the Washington Home Show (this was in the fall) - but she offered to get me free tickets if I came out to Chantilly and said she'd be happy to talk with me if I did! Accepting the proposal and setting up the appointment was easy as pie. I made my appointment pretty far in advance because I happened to have some time off between Christmas and New Year's. It turns out that everyone is trying to have heaters installed before the end of the year (to take advantage of tax credits), but this didn't cause me any trouble at all. That's a true mark of a professional outfit - punctual even when they're busier than ever! The technician from Washington Gas was here at 0830, the techs from Tankless Concepts (Todd and Marco) arrived at 0930 - the meter was already upgraded which was perfect. They showed me what they were going to do, where they needed to drill and so forth, and got right to work. The whole installation took just over four hours, the guys were able to get my old water heater out from behind my furnace (which was a tricky proposition that they handled very well), and my hot water is flowing beautifully. You can barely tell anything was done in my furnace room where the heater was installed - except that where my rusty old water heater was, there's a shiny new Rinnai on the wall. If there was any mess made Todd & Marco cleaned it all up before I went downstairs to inspect their work. It was raining like crazy today but I didn't notice any evidence that they'd tracked any dirt or mud into my home. Todd showed me all of the cutoff valves and explained how they work, and demonstrated the operation of my new water heater as well. I cannot recommend Tankless Concepts highly enough. I am delighted with their work and the entire process, from when I contacted them asking for help* until I took my first shower with my new tankless heater. The model they recommended for me works perfectly and I can't even hear it from upstairs when it ignites (my father has a tankless heater at his house that's quite loud which was NOT installed by Tankless Concepts). *Linda was amazing - I actually purchased a Rinnai tankless water heater online at Amazon.com - but it turned out to be too big for my house, as well as being an older model that (a) wasn't going to qualify me for the federal tax rebates, and (b) was less efficient than what Tankless Concepts are selling these days. I was having a real problem since Rinnai doesn't want to honor hardware warranties on their equipment if it's not installed by a Rinnai-certified technician, and nobody else wanted to install a water heater if they didn't sell it to me themselves. Linda went to bat with Rinnai for me trying to get them to buy back the heater I'd already purchased, and while that didn't fly, she did work with me on the price of the heater they eventually installed, so that with the rebates and all, it's going to cost me almost exactly what Tankless Concepts originally quoted to try and install the heater I'd already bought. Linda really went above and beyond for me when she could just as easily have told me to take a hike! The people at Tankless Concepts are truly incredible.

Tankless Concepts was great to work with. We got lower estimates from other installers for older model systems, but we felt confident using Tankless Concepts for the work based on our initial meeting with Brent Talley (who also did the work) and recommendations from others in the neighborhood. Installation was an all-day job but went smoothly. The code inspector indicated he'd seen many bad tankless installations by other companies, but he was very impressed with the quality job done on our system. We have not had any problems in the year since installation. We debated buying the wireless controller, but ended up getting one for the second floor; it has been well worth it.

Tankless Concepts did a great job and were easy to work with. Ed came out to do the estimate and was able to answer all my questions. He brought lots of literature on the differences between the units and the positives and negatives compared to a regular tank water heater. I received a proposal from them within 24 hours of the estimate. Work was scheduled and the installer showed up right on time to do the work, which took the better part of the day. Tankless worked with Washington Gas to install a larger flow gas pipe first thing in the morning and the installer showed up one hour later. The finished install looks nice - the Rinnai heater hanging on the wall saved a lot of space where the tank used to sit on the floor. The installer had to drill a hole in the wall for venting, and another for a drain for condensent. Pipes were laid out nicely and everything was left clean. The water heater works great. There's probably an additional 2-3 second delay in getting hot water compared to my old tank, but once it starts flowing it doesn't stop. One of the great features is the ability to dial in a temperature - no need to heat water up to 120 only to mix it with cold to get it back to 108 (or whatever temperature you like your shower at). Set the Rinnai to the temperature you want, open the shower at full hot, and luxuriate. Be sure to look into Rinnai's wide selection of remote temperature controls that you can set up in the bathroom and kitchen.

Working with this company was a great pleasure. A family member had outpatient surgery and was told to get multiple baths a day to promote healing. We got home from the hospital and tried to draw a bath and there was NO hot water. It was 3 pm on the Friday before Easter weekend. I quickly got on Angie's List and called 4-5 hot water heater companies including Tankless Concepts. I received a phone call back from the owner of Tankless Concepts within 30-45 minutes. (No one else called me back until late Monday - after I already had my new heater installed) He heard my sob story and said he'd see what he could do. And he delivered. He sent one of his top guys, Todd, out on Sat. to try and patch up my old water heater so we could get through the weekend. He did and free of charge. In addition, we were scheduled for new install first thing on Monday. Due to our emergency need, the upgrade to the gas line required by the gas company had to be scheduled out a couple of weeks after our install. The Tankless Concepts team handled all the scheduling with the gas company for us, and Todd once again came back and made the necessary adjustments in our house and with the tankless heater very efficiently. Todd had also noticed that our builder did not install a pressure bladder needed to keep from shaking the plumbing when the water was turned off and on. He order the part and once it arrived, they scheduled the install. As a service company, these folks were incredible. And I can't say enough good things about how awesome it is to have a tankless heater. I don't pay to keep that a big drum of water hot all the time and every one of my six member family can take a shower one after the other and never run out of hot water!! And based on the first bill for gas following installation, I'd say we'll pay for the heater in no time. Thank you thank you thank you!
Description of Work: Owner called me back in under an hour on a Friday afternoon for an emergency. A technician was dispatched to repair old water heater on a Sat. (the next day) free of charge. He also estimated the new tankless heater being very patient with me to explain my options for where to install the heater and which model would suit our family. The scheduler worked with another client to get us first on the install list Monday morning. Install went smoothly and was completed very quickly. They also hauled away my old one. Just got my first month's gas bill (water heater is gas heated as is stove and furnace). Based on other comparable months and last year's bill, we have cut our gas bill in half going to the new tankless heater.

We had an old gas water heater that was about 10 years old. We wanted something energy efficient (tankless systems are), were starting to notice that we were running out of hot water with 3 growing children, and we wanted MORE ROOM in our basement. Our old water heater was in the middle of the basement. We did our homework and researched all the options. In addition, we had a good experience with tankless water heaters in Europe. Ed, the owner, came to provide an estimate. He was very cordial and extremely knowledgeable about the product and installation. I would describe his style as low key, humorous, and informative, which I very much appreciated. His was the third estimate - he was the least expensive by a small margin, but his demeanor exuded confidence and a sense of responsibility that I felt that we could trust. We discussed all of the Rinnai sizes available and went with Ed's recommendation for the mid-size version (we were assuming the larger would be needed with 3 children). Just to test the Rinnai once it was installed, we put all 3 kids in the 3 baths, ran the dishwasher and the washing machine, and NO ONE RAN OUT OF WATER. Life is good! He and the office manager (Linda) worked with our schedules, did the paperwork, arranged for the gas upgrade with the gas company, and came with 3 folks for the removal of the old tank and installation of the new. The deposit was about 1/3 of the total - and the cost of it was about the same as replacing with a not-so-energy-efficient water tank that takes up way too much room in my basement...all of these factors made the switch SO easy! Installation took less than a day, the place was clean when they were done, and we had personal directions of how to use the equipment (including the remote controls, which I highly recommend for each bathroom & kitchen). The small box is on the exterior wall above our utility sink and vents outside. Keep in mind the location of your vent when you plan to extend/upgrade your deck - we have not had problems because we kept the location in mind of the county requirements for decks. Ed was familiar about Fairfax requirements and made sure we had plenty of room for deck upgrades at a later date. We now have lots of extra room and plan to use the indoor space to install a basement bathroom. We have not noticed any more delay with the water that what we had with the old tank (both old and new systems are in the basement, and the majority of the bathrooms are on the top floor), so it might take 30 seconds to a minute for the water to warm up. Not bad if you start the water before you take off your clothes. The remotes are wonderful to adjust the temperature. Why pay more to heat the water to to a really hot temperature, just to add cold water to get it feeling just right? We can select our favorite temperatures: 104 for showers, 120 for the dishwasher. Our bills are so low now, we had to cancel the monthly payment plan because our credit got too big. Went 4 months without having to pay anything while the credit was used. During cold months we are paying what we used to pay on the extended payment plan each month. Summer months typically run cheaper than the cost for lunch out for two adults! We couldn't be happier with it! We've enjoyed the benefits of it, that just by talking about it, friends have installed one too and love it. We also provide references for TC and many folks have decided to go with Ed and Linda at TC. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND TANKLESS CONCEPTS and will nominate for an award. They provided information to us quickly and easily so we could get the tax credit. They also sent a reminder email or two to remind us about it. Two years later, we've had no problems with it, have had quick replies to our calls w/ questions or referrals for friends, and we still highly regard Ed and his team for their excellent service and product. You won't go wrong with this company.
Description of Work: Installed Rinnai tankless water heater (R75LSi), upgraded gas line, and removed old water tank. Couldn't have asked for a better service from beginning to end! They did more than expected - sending us the forms so we could get tax credits for energy efficient installation. They made the whole process so easy. Referred family and friends and they have used Tankless Concepts as well and loved the results!

Ed Clark and his crew are great professionals. They installed the system in a timely fashion without cutting corners. We even called them back when we had a leak in the utility closet. Description of Work: Replaced my 35 year old boiler and 25 year old tank water heater with a a new boiler/tankless water heater combined unit. Also had them install a gass fireplace insert purchased through Woodburners Two (accounts for $4,000 of the total cost) Total time for the installation was 2 1/2 days our hot water and heat interuption lasted only a few hours during this whole time. Cost included all removal of old equipment which they did in a very clean and competent manner.

Good. We had talked about going tankless and I was afraid that due to the urgency of our situation that was no longer an option. I called Tankless Concepts just to ask, and Ed said he could probably help. He came out that day and surveyed the situation, explained the Rinnai products to us and told us that he could have us up and running the next day. We would need a second higher pressure gas line which would take a little longer, but it could be operational with the current gas line and then upgraded when the gas company could add the additional line. The next day they can in and removed the old heater and installed the new one. They came back and finished the job a few days later when the new gas line was available. Then later on when an overly conscientious county inspector found a minor issue with the ventilation (where the old heater was removed), they came back and fixed that issue. The Rinnai works great. It takes a few seconds longer to get hot water, but it's always a consistent temperature and you never run out. Our gas bills are noticeably lower, even in the single digits in the summer time when the heat and fireplace aren't being used.

The company was very responsive when I called and I had an appointment for a few days later. The owner came and gave me an estimate and explained in depth about the water heaters and how they work. He was very low pressure saleswise and did not try to convince me to get the most expensive water heater, but that was the one that best suited my needs. He inspired so much confidence in his company that I scheduled for an install as soon as possible. Two weeks later I had my install, they coordinated for the gas company to upgrade my meter the same day. Everything was done in about 6 hours and the installers were were great. Todd and Marco were friendly and did a great job with the install and left the area very clean. I've already recommended this company to my friends and would use them again.

I selected three contractors (Tankless Concepts, Kramer and Sons Plumbing Service, Inc., and ) for bids based on Angie'slist ratings. All three were very responsive, Tankless Concepts came in with a slightly lower bid, (and is a platinum Rinai platinum partner I think) so I selected them. The installer Brent was very knowledgeable and professional. The install went without a hitch and looks great. Gas company came the same day to upgrade the service so I had new hot water that night. Well done.

I never heard back from these folks!? I emailed and then called and left a voicemail. It's been 5 days since the email and 2 days since the voicemail. It's too bad since I was optimistic about them after reading some of the other reviews. I'm having problems with my existing water heater and indicated in my email and voicemail that I'm ready to move on getting a new tankless one installed. I don't understand how they can blow off both an email and a voicemail from a prospect who ready to buy.

The whole experience went great. Ed, the owner of Tankless Concepts, came out to evaluate my townhouse and gave me the pros and cons of tank and tankless water heaters. My 12 year old tank water heater was on the 4th floor and posed a threat to the whole house if it decided to leak in a big way, and it was no longer giving me hot water anyway, so I decided it had to go. After I committed to the install, Ed's chief administrator, Linda, took care of arranging for all the permits, having Washington Gas come out to put in a new meter and gas regulator (this was in the quote), and then set a date for the installation. On the appointed day, Tod came out and took out my old water heater and installed the Rinnai in one long day. I had not understood that a 120V receptacle was needed within 6 feet of the Rinnai to power it (there was only a 220v receptacle, so Tod plugged it into an extension cord temporarily, and reported my unhappiness to Linda. Even though it was not part of the quote or contract, Ed and Linda had a licensed electrician come out and install a new circuit breaker and the correct outlet next to the Rinnai at no charge. They did not have to do this, but wanted me to have a happy experience with the whole job, so I really feel they went the extra mile. Tod was great, explained the whole install, his copper piping layout was a work of art in our opinion, and he did a thorough clean up. We're very happy with Tankless Concepts, and would use them again for other work.
Description of Work: --Removed my whole house electric water heater. --Converted my water heater system to gas. --Had a Washington Gas subcontractor come in to refit the meter and gas regulator. --Installed a Rinnai RC98 tankless whole house water heater. --Had a certified electrician come in to hardwire an outlet for the Rinnai.

They were really very good. They were very prompt, proactive and came out on a Sunday morning to give an estimate. They were on time and finished the work in a timely manner. I have some problems with the product but, they are trying to fix it. I would recommend them to others because they would work with you and help you fix the problems.

I initially contacted the company via email and they responded back both by phone and email within 24 hours. Mr. Clark came out to make an estimate of the work needed and explained everything that would need to be done to convert from electric to gas water heating, including the installation of a vent to the exterior of the house, and installation of a new gas meter, which was done by the gas company at no cost to me. Mr. Clark also took time to explain exactly how a tankless water heater works, any possible complaints people have made about them, and how to take care of them. Although I had researched tankless heaters I appreciated his taking the time to educate me further and I learned a lot. The installation was in 2 parts over 2 days, requiring county inspection before final hookup. The installer (Todd) was professional and efficient and cleaned up the work area before he left both days. He also left me with information on the heater's operation and care. Linda, who runs the office end of the operation was also friendly and helpful, especially coordinating with the gas company to replace the meter around my work schedule. My experience was very positive and I love my new water heater.
Description of Work: Installed a gas tankless water heater, which included venting it to the exterior of the house. Also disconnected and removed old electric tank water heater.

Called Ed on a Friday and scheduled the estimate for the following Monday. Ed was on time and very informative about the product. He spent about an hour with me walking me through all of the details about the system. Executed the proposal and the installation was scheduled for the following week. Tankless Concepts handled everything from pulling the permits to scheduling Washington Gas for the meter split. The meter split took about 45 minutes and the installation of the full system was completed on the same day. They did a very clean installation and left my workshop in the same state as they arrived.
Description of Work: Installed two Rinnai R75LSiN units and a Metlund S-70T D'Mand System.

I contacted Tankless and Ed was able to come out same day. He reviewed the work and the product options with us and provided a very detailed written estimate. We decided to proceed with the work. Linda coordinated with Washington Gas to have a new meter installed to accomodate the new 2 PSI gas line required for the install. The technician from Tankless came out the next day and installed the unit and gas line, Linda then coordinated with the inspection team to inspect the work which allowed Tankless to complete the install and hook up. The technician was unable to put the old water heater on his truck due to space, but they came out the next day and picked it up. The unit has been working as expected ever since. We are very pleased with the choice and the contractor. We did receive one other bid from another firm which was much higher, and did not have as much experience as Tankless with the installs. Would not hesitate to hire Tankless again for any other work.
Description of Work: Installed new 2 PSI gas line, installed new Rinnai Tankless Water Heater, Removed antique water heater and capped lines running to old water heater.

Ed Clark and Todd Diamond installed Rinnai gas tankless water system in basement laundry room of our townhouse. We were given a thorough estimate and advised by Ed that the smaller model would work fine for our needs. The usual 2-day installation took only one day as Ed coordinated with Washington Gas to upgrade our gas meter same day as installation. In addition, Todd replaced a pipe going to our gas furnace with a larger one that has increased our gas pressure considerably and they even took a look at the gas fireplace as the remote was not working. They fixed this too. Both men were knowledgeable, professional and cleaned up thoroughly.
Description of Work: Installed Rinnai tankless hot water system.
