Sparkle Drain Cleaning

Called on a Sunday morning, and they showed up on a sunday morning, fitting me in to their emergency calls. Shower drain was snaked out with a power snake - clearing was successful (and fairly quick). No particular cleanup - reassembly was complete, and they tested the work. Kitchen sink drain was a lot more work for them. They tried to clear this for about 30-45 minutes - got a lot of snake run down the drain, but was unable to clear the blockage. They did good lay-out to keep this from being a mess or damaging anything. A good, honest effort - it just failed. The lead guy (Larry) of the team had some recommendations and advice for me as to how to deal with the situation. I think his advice was exceptionally honest and useful. I'd use them again in a minute.

We've used Sparkle Drain Cleaning several times. They are on-time and professional. This time we only needed one drain unclogged, but we've had them take care of several issues over the years. I will definitely use them again.

We have previously gotten great service from Sparkle on two occasions, and have previously written a positive review. Upon hearing from a tenant about a clogged drain, we naturally reached out to Sparkle again. Today, however, upon asking if we could send payment via check after service or have the tenant pay on the spot (as we have day jobs, couldn't get there ourselves, but didn't want to delay service for the tenant), the man from Sparkle went into a rant. Rather than just politely declining our business, he raged about people in the real estate business - reciting all the bad experiences he's had with people who aren't there to pay him on the spot,. He mentioned that he has a plumber friend who is owed a million dollars, which may explain why he wants payment on the spot, but certainly has nothing to do with us. Perhaps we've just been lucky, as this was by far the most unprofessional response we've ever gotten from anyone found on Craigslist.

After the hurricane, I noticed that the walkout stairs had flooded. I called Sparkle. The guy who did the scheduling wasn't super friendly but very down to business. I called later to change the phone number and was greeted by a very friendly lady. I think I just called too early for her to be in the office the first time. Anyway, Larry and (Danny??) came out the day after calling for an appointment. This was a Saturday, which was quite nice. They attempted to snake the pipe because based on the age of my house, that drain should be tied into the main sewer line. The initial snaking did clear the stairwell of water but when they washed down the well with water from the hose, it trickled slowly down. Unfortunately, the snake wouldn't extend more than about 20 feet. They tried a second (larger) snake to no avail. He had no idea what was causing the blockage. It wasn't dirt/leaves. They recommended I call a plumber to figure out what is going on. They recommended if it was a decision of ripping out the basement floor to find the problem with the pipe or installing a sump pump, they recommended the cheaper and less messy option of the sump. They were incredibly helpful and explained everything they were doing in addition to different drainage systems.

I am completely satisfied with the services they provided, including the advice of the other work I needed to have done.

In preparing to write a check for his services, Larry quoted me $185.00, which took me by surprise!! I expected to pay him upwards of $350.00. He explained the kitchen sink drain did not require clearing, thus, he was charging me for the sink. Now, that's an honest business man! I highly recommend his services. He's a delight to work with. One thing to note is his service is specialized. While Sparkle Drain Cleaning is listed under "Plumbing," in Angie's list, he does not provide plumbing services, which makes things easy!

Sparkle was scheduled for Monday, arrived the day before after calling to see if it was OK - they were on another job in the area. Checked drain from outside (roof) and inside, used power snake to clear, offered detailed instructions on how to avoid future blockages. Very professional, cleaned up after job was done. Would use again without hesitation.

The gentlemen from Sparkle were very prompt. They explained what they were goign to do. They took over my bathroom and went to work. They accomplished a difficult drain cleaning as I had hoped. The one thing I didn't care for was they left sprayed gunk that came from the drain on my walls for me to clean up. I thought the price was excessive for 30 minutes of work but they did a good job.

The guys found time to come out on a busy weekend and did great work. Would defiantly hire again

The pipe was clogged with lint. Larry and Den spent about thirty minutes clearing the clog and they definitely knew what they were doing. The pipe at issue goes through several ninety degree angles. We had initially called them on Sunday (they have 7 day service) but they were unable to come that day. We arranged another day and time and they gave us a window between noon and 1 pm. They called 20 minutes ahead and promptly arrived a few minutes past noon. The price was reasonable as we had used larger commercial companies in the past that charged upwards of a hundred dollars and more for a less complicated clog.

I found them on Angie's list and they were excellent and just wonderful. They had very got rating, so I called them and ended up using them to do the job. I was very satisfied. They did a very good job. The gentleman really didn't need to call me back after the job. It turned out to be an expensive job. They were very responsive.

Went very well. Joe and his partner were professional and were very careful to minimize the mess. It such a relief to get help with this problem on a Sunday.

I wish I could remember the Sparkle man's name, so I'll call him Mr. S for now. When Mr. S arrived, the first thing he did was explain that he is not a plumber; he is an expert specialist in Drain Cleaning. That's all he does, and he takes great pride in his work -- as well he should! Mr. S warned us not to call him for a "plumbing" job, like replacing pipes or installing a water filter. But for a clogged drain, from now on I will call the Specialist: Sparkle Drain Cleaning and no-one else. I enthusiastically recommend this company to everyone who needs a man who routinely carries a 100-foot snake!

I've used Sparkle for years with great success and have been very pleased. However, I contacted them to come look at a drain that I've had a recurring issue with and they refused to even come look at it.

All the drains in my house were backing up into my basement. I called in the morning and he was here in a few hours. Very professional and courteous. He charged much less for the main drain clean out then all of the estimates I got over the phone. The price reflects the addition of 2 other sink drains that I asked him to snake while he was here. Next time I have a clogged drain I will definitely call him.

Clogged sewer/drainage line.Saturday afternoon and the sewer line is clogged. Checked Angie's List for recommendations and after calling a few companies listed and getting estimates way over my budget, I came across Sparkle Drain Cleaning. I called and explained my problem and the gentleman gave me an estimate based on what I told him (he explain that it might be more once they evaluate it on site). He contacted his crew and promptly called back and said they were available and on the way. Joe and Dan (father and son team) arrived less than 30 minutes later and were very nice, professional and familiar with the area and the homes in the area (older subdivision). I explained to Joe that the drain had been snaked little over two years ago and they found roots in the line. Joe evauated the situation and decided that since the basement did not have a back door, he could run the line through the window and save me the added cost of them having to disassemble the machine to get it to the basement. Joe removed the old drain opening and snaked it 100' and removed the root blockage. After removing the blockage, they replaced the plug and made sure that it was draining properly. I was very impress with the service, professionalism and experience level. Joe explained in detail what I needed to do in terms of maintenance and what to watch for in the next few days just in case some roots were missed and they had to return. I highly recommend Sparkle for anyone needing their drains clean. They are now my 'go to guys' for any drainage needs I might encounter with my house and I will recommend they to my friends and neighbors. Also, based on the other estimates I received, they were able to do the job under my budget amount. Also 'Thank You' Angie List for the evaulations, they more than pay for the membership fee.

Larry came promptly. He is ver pleasant and professional. He diagnosed my problems, fixed those he was capable of fixing and advised me how to correct the bigger problems.

They were polite, prompt and professional. I don't remember other details due the to length of time since the event, but we were very satisfied with them.

Arrived within 1 hour of call. Joe was a nice guy. Cut exposed sink drain pipe in basement so that they could clean the drain line. Cleaned sink drain line. Clean floor drain in basement. Install Fernco coupler on sink drain to repair cut. Cleaned utility sink and removed trash and tools. Provided invoice with description of work done. Quick, helpful, offered 30 day warranty if drain clogs again.

I was quite pleased with the work he did. It was a bit complicated since the drain leads to a sewage ejector, but he did a fine job. He arrived on time and the price was reasonable. I would recommend him to others.

Larry arrived on time, took time to scope out the problems, then set out to fix them. It went fine, except he had trouble re-assembling the strange, nearly 50-year-old drain assembly in the bathtub. (We told him to let it go, and we'd handle it.) I was a bit surprised by the price, but haven't checked with other providers for comparison. He charged $185 for first drain, less for additional ones. Total $340 for three drains (sink, tub, shower). Whole service call took about 1 1/2 hours.

They could not have provided a better service. Showed up exactly as promised on a Sunday. Not only was he very thorough in determining and eliminating cause of clog (multiple drains feed into same floor pipe), but he was very helpful in explaining to me how to best prevent future clogs and other issues related to my septic system. I've hired them to do other drain clearing in the past, and they've consistently provided great service and advice.
